Bruce Irving Minkin

I broke my arm in a car accident. The urgent care doc wrapped it up and sent me home. He said, “see how it does”. Well, what it did was hurt! I could barely move it! I called and asked to see Dr. Minkin. He graciously worked me in. I had a bad break and he scheduled surgery for the next day. He is experienced and knows what to do when he sees a problem. My surgery was a success and I have no residual problems. I’m not sure how it would have played out if I would have not sought Dr. Minkin’s help. He is the best!

I was referred to Dr Minkin for my tennis elbow. I arrived early to fill out paperwork. The staff were kind and helpful. I enjoyed admiring Dr Minkin's son's artwork in the waiting area. Meeting Dr Minkin and hearing his procedure he developed called a "blood patch", I knew it was right for me. It was quick and although a little painful, I expect it to completely help me. My 16 yr old son was treated by Dr. Minkin for a broken/displaced hamate bone in his hand due to a baseball injury. This required surgery and my son was really worried as this was his first major injury. Dr. Minkin was great! He explained things well to all of us and put my son at ease about the surgery. Surgery went fabulous! My son's hand is back to normal, can barely seen the scar and most importantly he is playing baseball just as before and has no pain or issues with the hand. I highly recommend Dr. Minkin and his office staff, who were also great during this time. So VERY thankful we were able to see Dr. Minkin!!

I completely shattered my wrist a few years ago. Broke it into at least 10 pieces. Because of weather related issues and me not knowing the severity of the accident it was a week before I got to see Dr. Minkin. When he saw it and the X-rays...He said "Ohhh...This is bad. This is real bad". I am a woodworker, my hands are my life. I was really worried. He had me in surgery in 2 days. After 3.5hrs of digging around he found all of the pieces. 1 titanium plate and 8 screws later he was done. A couple years later now and that wrist is better than my other one. A true artist. Unless you want to get cut into, I would avoid this man. I'm a caretaker for a 73 year old 100% disabled veteran, who has neuropathy in both hands. He has had steroid shots in his hands for years that relieve any trigger finger and provide relief. The first appointment this doctor wanted to do surgery, the second appointment was the same song & dance. He finishes by telling us that he will not do any more steroid shots after this. My friend prefers non-invasive therapy and not somebody that wants to get paid more for doing surgery or referring it out to someone else. Unless you want to get cut into, I would avoid this man. Dr. Minkin fixed my hand when I broke my thumb in a mountain biking accident. He performed surgery and inserted two pins. He's no-nonsense and knows what he's doing -- my thumb is working perfectly now and it was broken badly before he took care of it for me. 10/10 I would see him again, definitely recommended.

I first was referred to Carolina Hand. I had injured my right hand working at Magnavox and pain was severe from my hand to my shoulder. In my thumb I had no feeling at all. I had the pleasure of meeting Doctor Minkin which was not gun-ho let's do surgery. He put me through all the therapy he thought might help, it didn't so that's when surgery was suggested. I received the surgery my feeling was back and I could do most things but I was put through physical therapy for a while. Dr. Minkin checked on me several more times to up date my feeling. 1992,was the first time. 2018, hand surgery on left hand and right hand needs it again. I can't complain at all. I have been a patient of Dr. Minkin since 2015 and have had two totally successful thumb reconstruction surgeries. I have found Dr. Minkin and his staff to be very knowledgeable, patient oriented, efficient, experienced, and ready to take on any challenge for the benefit of the patient. Dr. Minkin and his staff respond to any questions or concerns immediately. The same comments apply to the surgical staff at the Orthopedic Surgical Center.
