Great Doctor. A friend recommended Dr. Gerstman as my pain management doctor after my spine surgery. He is awesome. After surgery I had a bad pain in my groin when I walked. I thought maybe the neurosurgeon trapped a nerve after spine surgery. He from his experience thought it actually might be a problem with my hip. He was right, after visiting an orthopedic doctor that specializes in hips, the doctor found I had very bad arthritis in my hip and needed a hip replacement. I went for a second opinion, the 2nd doctor was even more adamant that I needed a hip replacement. He's the best. I have been very lucky lately I have found a number of really good doctors. There are a lot of lousy ones out there. Thanks Doc Gerstman.

One of the best pain doctors NJ has to offer, appointments are easy to make, practically no wait times. Dr. Gerstman listens to your problems and comes up with effective solutions. I have been seeing him for a little over three years now, due to a couple nerve damage issues. He is a very caring and professional doctor. I would highly suggest him to anyone who is serious about their pain management and getting medical issues under control.

I saw Dr. Gerstman for a herniated lumbar disc. He is very smart, personable, attentive and explained my condition thoroughly. He is everything you would want in a doctor. Truly excellent and five stars. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone with spine pain.

I had an appointment scheduled over a month ahead of time. I was given less than 24 hours noticed that it had been cancelled and was told Dr. Gertsman was no longer accepting new patients. I reach back out to schedule another appointment, hoping the excuse for cancelation was a mistake. This time I was told the doctor would not take me because of my medication history. The receptionist was short with me and ended our call before I could ask any questions. Extremely disappointing that the doctor would turn away a person in need of help so quickly. When I originally schedule my appointment, I had my current pain management doctor fax my patient history to their office. If I hadn't shared my info then they would have taken me. So BEWARE: They will judge you. I really wanted a second opinion from a doctor that came highly recommended and was looking forward to my original appointment. It's a shame that Dr. Gertsman does not care enough to help.

Dr Gerstman is a really nice person and doctor , very compassionate, kind and make you feel confident in the visit, he takes his time with patients , and will answer every question . Very honest and explain everything. Just can say THANK YOU……

Dr Gertsman is the best pain management doctor I have ever been treated by His compassion.. his willingness to listen and his overall way of hearing exactly what I say and is beyond what I’ve ever experienced. He never has been anything other then a doctor who has returned my chronic pain , daily life, into a day I can live my best life and he has so many options to give for pain relief. I hope he never leaves the area.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gerstman for about two years after seeing his colleague, Dr. Kenneth Rieger and coming to a mutual decision that surgery in my case, would not be ideal. Dr. Gerstman has been managing my pain ever since. And beautifully. He is everything you want in a doctor and more. The best bedside manor and after really listening, and remembering my details on my next visit, he makes the best choices for my pain management. Everything is explained, with clarity and humor. I cannot thank him or his wonderful staff, enough. To top it all off, he looks like a movie star, which makes the whole experience even a little more pleasant. It's so nice to be able to look forward to a doctor appointment instead of dreading it!

Dr Gerstman is a very kind, empathic doctor who really wants you to feel better. He has treated me for spinal pain problems (sciatica pain caused by multiple issues). He explains everything well, does not rush, and is a fine human being.

My husband and I were ready to take a trip this summer to Italy but the pain in my back was so bad we thought we might have to cancel the trip. I didn’t know who to go to but found Dr Gerstman and was I lucky I did! He listened to everything and took time to explain what was happening. He treated me and off I went to Italy!!!! I was even able to walk the hills of Positano, twice!! Would Irecommend Dr Gerstman? Without a second thought! Thank you so much Dr Gerstman for the best trip of my life!

Dr. Gerstman is a kind, caring, excellent, skilled, professional, physician. He takes the time that is needed and will give you appropriate care. He has keen observations and listens to you. Very grateful. I highly recommend him !

After suffering from chronic back pain for years, I was referred to Dr. Gerstman for pain management. He has terrific bedside manner, is caring, compassionate, and willing to take as much time as needed to explain things and answer any questions a patient has. He has gone above and beyond what any other doctor has done for me. I would highly recommend him for any one seeking pain management. He has convenient office locations and times.

I presently am moving out of state & he legally wrote me for 1 month. Nothing extra so I would have more time to find a doctor. I've watched him morph from a nice doctor that was thorough, helpful & happy to a miserable, inconsiderate, judgmental open wallet. NJ doesn't have anesthesiologist's that manage chronic pain. This is the ONLY REASON I wound up being treated by him. After what he's done & few other incidents, my respect & trust disolved

Dr. Gerstman is a true medical professional, dedicated to excellence in patient understanding, care and predictable successful outcomes. Performed an epidural steroid injection for me today, talked me through the procedure. It was like having your smartest, kindest friend help you out.

He cares about you and your health. Great bedside manner. Would definitely recommend. Did not feel that I was rushed through or just another number. He took the time to understand what I was experiencing and explained what he felt may be the cause.

Dr Gerstman is my idea of what a Dr should be..an exemplary model of the characteristics that a patient needs in a physician. After suffering pain for a lengthy period of time due to a fall, Dr Gerstman was the one to correctly diagnose my problem as being the shoulder Rotator cuff. He is kind, patient , caring and brilliant. Although he has so many patients he makes U feel that you are his only one. He is interested truly in helping you to get Relief and is the Dr You are seeking Jill
