Be aware of this doctor he makes a good first impression but that is where it ends, he does a good presentation. If you have really good insurance like I do they will keep charging constantly and then be vague when you question it. The office staff are not well trained and do not return calls. It was overall a horrible experience. I worked in the medical field so I was appalled at the surgical center being dirty and rushing people through like an assembly line.

Successful cataract and Len implant surgery. I can see without contacts and have no. I had a minor setback but Dr Suedekum helped resolve it.

Very disappointing, I saw Dr Suedekum before my cataract surgery but he has an optician do follow-up visits after surgery. My surgery was not successful, Dr Suedekum left a fragment of my cataract lens in my eye. After weeks of pain and requests to see a specialist, I finally saw Dr Achal Patel who in less then a minute, identified the fragment causing swelling of my cornea. It took more than 2 months for the swelling to go down, to have acceptable vision on my right eye. I did not have Dr Suedekum do my left eye cataract surgery. Very disappointing, I saw Dr Suedekum before my cataract surgery but he has an optician do follow-up visits after surgery. So happy with every detail involved with my surgery, and the outcome. Everyone involved were kind, caring, and efficient, including my 1st post op visit. My first meeting WAY back in February with Dr. Sudekum was great. We clicked immediately and I felt reassured and confident in his skills. His friendly, caring manner was awesome. (It helped that he plays the Saxophone, and I told him I played the clarinet in marching band :) Any questions I had presurgery and after were answered quickly in spite of everything going on with COVID. I want to give a shout out to the representative Julie, who answered SO many questions, and who I have become great friends with, even long distance from Maine! Cataract surgery on both eyes about 10 days apart. Almost back to 20:20 in both eyes.

This was the best experience I had in a Facility that had such skilled, professional physicians and staff. This is truly a EYE catching experience. Job well done. ????????

Had both eye surgery done in March 2021. Very professional and attentive to my care. Have had no problems. Very pleasant experience and would highly recommend to anyone needing cataract surgery.

The dcotors and staff are incredible and so pleasant. They made my two surgeries easy, and I've never had eyesight this good before. I would highly recommend Dr. Suedekum and his eye surgery clinic to anyone considering cataract surgery.

I felt very well cared for. The nurses preparing me for the procedure were very professional and helpful. I am reducing one star because I was given too much anesthesia. I was told I would not be totally asleep. I was!! I don't remember anything from leaving the prep area until being back there. I slept in the car going home. I slept all afternoon that day and again in the evening. I slept all night.Even the next day I was feeling in need of more sleep. The new surgery center is exceptional. My prep nurse was also exceptional...Kathy. My IV nurse found just the right spot in one stick. My anesthesiologist was very high quality...Dr. Opahra. Even though I only got to hear my surgeon's voice as he was leaving, I believe he removed the cataract very quickly and efficiently. This occurred this afternoon and my eye is already more comfortable. The new surgery center is exceptional. My prep nurse was also exceptional...Kathy. Would never recommend. It’s over a year now and my husband and I are both still dealing with correcting the mistakes of this doctor’s treatment. We sought and found another doctor who is competent and helping us overcome the mess that Suedekum left us with. Would give him credit for enthusiasm; thorough and competent, not so much.

Had cataract surgery on Thursday...and already (Sunday) the eye feels great and I can see! I received a standard lens. It’s a miracle. Very impressed with surgery results! Office staff friendly. Surgery center friendly. Would like to know ahead of time if anesthesiologist accepts my insurance. Fortunately she does, but day of surgery is too late to find out. Thank you!

I am looking to be a new patient of Dr. Seudekum yet I have been on hold waiting for the front desk for over 1/2 hour and the music keeps fading in and out with no one answering the phone. Can you please assist

I would not recommend this practice for eye surgeries. Dr. Suedekum encouraged unnecessary surgery and then did the surgery wrong twice. Had a brief consult with Dr. Suedekum and he recommended cataract surgery on both my eyes. The right eye would be done first.I had 20/40 mild nearsightedness in my right eye before the surgery correctable to 20/20 with glasses or contacts. Dr. Suedekum recommended and inserted a Toric lens in my right eye. This resulted in double vision and blurry vision at every distance. It was not the right choice of type of lens nor was it the correct lens power for my eye. After the surgery my vision was very farsighted +250 (20/200) and only correctable to 20/60. Dr. Suedekum scheduled a 2nd surgery on my right eye 9 days after the first surgery to remove the Toric lens and insert a non-Toric lens. This was a more complicated and risky surgery involving a 6-7mm incision and stitches.My vision in the right eye 6 weeks after surgery was still horrible, 20/200 or +250 farsighted. My vision in the right prior to the 2 surgeries was 20/40 nearsighted without correction.In order to rule out any other potential cause of the blurry vision I saw a retinal specialist who performed a retinal MRI and looked at my inner eye. This specialist said my retina and inner eye chambers looked fine with no inflammation or other I sought a 2nd opinion from an Optometrist and Ophthalmologist. I was informed shortly after the exam that the calculations for lens power were done incorrectly and Dr. Suedekum had chosen and inserted the wrong lens power in my right eye in both surgeries. I was also told that I am not a candidate for a Toric lens and that it was not surprising that I had double vision after Dr. Suedekum inserted a Toric lens in my right eye in the first surgery. Lastly I was told that my cataracts were not bad enough to justify surgery at all and likely had nothing to do with my imperfect night vision. I will need a 3rd right eye surgery to correct the errors made in the 1st and 2nd surgeries. This surgery will insert the correct power lens. My eye is currently too traumatized to have that surgery immediately. The large incision made in the 2nd surgery could burst open when the eye is pressurized in the 3rd surgery. I will wait several months prior to the 3rd surgery in order to give my eye more time to heal. The physician I saw for the 2nd opinion will perform that surgery -NOT Dr. Suedekum. Dr. Suedekum has a high volume factory type surgical facility with little or no patient specific time or effort. He brags about doing more surgeries than anyone else in Az. Expect to be part of an assembly line. I got my post surgery checkup call 1 week after the first surgery and 2-3 weeks after the 2nd surgery due to “being behind and busy”. The technician asked if I had experienced post-surgery nausea and vomiting. What difference does that make weeks after the surgery? There were numerous mix-ups with appointments, billing, and communication. I did not see Doctor Suedekum the day of either surgery or for either post op visit. Don’t expect Dr. Suedekum to carefully evaluate your eye or to listen to your concerns. My husband (an MD) and I (a Pharmacist) told him numerous times that we were concerned the wrong lens was in my eye. It fell on deaf ears or worse yet Dr. Suedekum knew he made a bad mistake and was lying to cover it up. I only found i had the wrong power lens inserted in my eye when I sought a 2nd opinion. Also, if Dr. Suedekum ruins your vision through his errors- expect to pay for it. This is a money making venture for him and there is no conscience that will inspire him to do the right thing. I spent thousands of dollars to satisfy my large insurance deductible for the botched surgeries and requested but did not receive reimbursement. I would not recommend this practice for eye surgeries. The initial visit was not as thorough as it should’ve been. Upgrading the lense was misrepresented because I had told them I had low macular degeneration. My distance eyesight got worse after the surgery and I had nothing but problems—including ending up at a Retina Specialist then having lasik which didn’t help at all. His surgery center did not seem clean and I felt like a sheep being herded. The surgery staff was very rude. Just not a good experience for something that should’ve been a simple procedure.
