Dr. Branden Hsu

Dr Hsu has been a part of our family since 2018 when my dad was diagnosed. This man is so wonderful and kind and deeply cares for his patients. My Dad passed away yesterday and we were grateful to say our goodbyes to Dr Hsu that morning. I told him he need to teach these younger doctors how to be compassionate and caring when they speak to the family like he did with every visit we attended. Kind and compassionate. Always has time to answer any questions

I highly recommend Dr. Hsu. He is caring and is concerned. He takes time to answer your questions and does not sugar coat his answers. He will give you a honest answer based on facts and experience. Excellent doctor.

Dr Hsu is caring from day 1 now almost 2 years later since diagnose my cancer is nasophrayngeal stage 4b a lot great progress ,still on treatment Dr Hzu make me have hope and living like normal,all staff from front office ,nurses ,lab all so kind and helpful 5*

My Visit with Dr. HSU this week on August 26th was excellent. After asking a few questions and examining the area I suspected might be cancer he told me that it was not cancer in his opinion and it was rather a swollen lymph node that had been exasperated by recent dental work. I have a follow up appointment with him in March of next year to be sure, but this was great news anyway. I highly recommend him if you need an oncologist.. My wife has been under the care of Dr. Branden Hsu for 7.5 years. We could not possibly be more pleased with the care that Dr. Hsu & staff have provided! Dr. Hsu’s standard of care for his patients is second to none! In addition, his bedside manner is one of honesty mixed in with a tender genuine compassion. We feel had it not been for Dr. Hsu, especially early in my wife’s diagnoses, and the aggressive treatment plan that he implemented, along with an amazing team of Dr.’s that he assembled, Pam’s prognosis Could have been much different than the extension of life that Pam has been enjoying, and strives to continue. Texas Oncology is the greatest in Care and Compassion for their clientele and patients. They obviously put them first. I've been with them for the last 3 to 4 years managing my health and feel confident I’m in the best there is for the condition I have. Dr B. Hsu is great and the top of his game with the latest treatment and council my condition. Especially with it being new to me and other patients. Dr. Hsu is treating my father for prostate cancer. He patiently explained everything clearly and gave us sufficient information to make the best treatment choice. When new trial studies showed positive results, he made us aware of the treatment possibility. He is available whenever we have concerns. We have recommended him to whomever requires an oncologist. Superb doctor.

Absolutely Awesome!! He takes the time with each of his patients to explain everything pertaining to their case, and answer any questions or concerns they may have. Everyone in the office is very caring and knowledgeable. love them!!

Very thorough and a great listener.

I started seeing Dr. Hsu 5 years ago when I moved from Virginia to Texas following spine surgery in VA for bone cancer related to stage 4 met. lung cancer. My previous chemo for lung cancer was in VA. with a very large oncology practice (dozens of drs. and about 50 chairs in the chemo suite.) This small practice (3 drs., 12 chairs) was quite a surprise after the industrial strength mega-group I had seen in Virginia. I've seen Dr. Hsu and his staff every three weeks for lab work, consultation, and chemo. He's ordered periodic scans and referred me for several courses of radiation after occasional suspect lung and bone reports. I feel very comfortable with him and his staff and I'm very confident in their care. He and his staff are very helpful and good to deal with. I would highly recommend him and his practice.

Visit was on time. Staff is very courteous and efficient. Dr. Hsu is very personable and easy to talk with about my cancer and its treatment. Bonnie, the chief nurse that administers the chemo drug and immuno drug , is very kind and attentive. Bless them all.

This doctor may be good in an appointment during the day but if you need him in off hours, he is not a stand up guy. Any doctor that refuses to go to his office when he is “on call” is a doctor who doesn’t really care about patients.

I filled out the request online to schedule an appointment. After a few days I called to schedule and had to leave a message. I was then called back by Glenda. She was not a kind employee. She was asking me questions about what the visit was for etc. She asked me if I had the referral paperwork which I thought was strange because my insurance does not require referrals to visit specialists. She said that yes I did not require a referral however they "screen appointments to see if they'll take me as a patient or not." I found that disrespectful out of her, if I didn't need to see the doctor why waste my time and money? She also said that they would need my bloodwork records etc which I told her I had those from my online portal. She said I would need to fax those or personally drop off at the office. I found this inconvenient as fax machines are often unattended and I did not want my private paperwork to be out in an unattended fax and since I had to be "screened prior to being accepted as a patient" going in person was definitely inconvenient. Because I would be considered a new patient, last appointment they would take me is 3:30 even though they close at 5. After explaining that I'm a teacher who works until 3:30 I asked for an exception to which she said no and said they could not help me. I went to Dr. Hsu back in 2016 after getting out of the hospital for liver failure due to Hep. C treatment. While I was in the hospital, I was diagnosed with cirrhosis (non-alcholic despite what Memorial Herman's Dr. Earl Osuagwu claimed). I needed to see a hematologist because my platelet levels were dropping. He looked up my hospital medical record, read it, and turned to me and said, "I' AM NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU." I was shocked and speechless. He kindly shook my hand and left the room. I became severely depressed after that for a few days. I now go to Dr. Mohammad Riaz at Premier Oncology who is taking care of my platelet problem. I went to Dr. Hsu back in 2016 after getting out of the hospital for liver failure due to Hep. Such a great Doctor! So caring and concerned and so up to date on treatment. I don't feel I would have come through Stage 3 B Colon Cancer without him and his team at Texas Oncology!!! So grateful every day.

Wonderful manor. I have always had fast care.

I really liked him. Going to an oncologist was a scary prospect but he was so nice and we had a good laugh when I introduced my wife as my Uber driver. Dr Hsu is a very rare Doctor I am so so happy that he is taking care of me. He is the type of Doctor that cares for his patients. He spent time asking questions and answering any questions that I have. Is been times that I do not feel well do to chemo and I will call the office and they will page him and within 15 to 20mn max 30 Doctor Hsu calls back. At his clinic Texas Oncology Katy every body is so pleasant and kind and happy. I have seen first had how he treats his nurses and staff with respect and kindness. Going through cancer his very hard trust me, I know si been fighting this terrible condition and it is more difficult to find a Doctor to treat. I was so blessed to have a Doctor that treats me and knows what he is doing and cares. Doctor Hsu is a great Doctor. He cares so much for his patients, he will take his time answering any questions or asking questions. He makes sure you fill comfortable. Is very rare to find doctors like him. I'm so so blessed and happy that he is treating my cancer. I go to Texas Oncology in Katy and all his nurses and staff are so kind and happy like Doctor Hsu. Dr. Hsu was recommended to me by my gastrologist and it was the best recommendation I had. Before I am anemic and on my first visit with Dr. Hsu, he told me things/habits of what I had before I said anything. He was exactly correct. I received iron transfusions and immediately after my second transfusion things changed for the better. I was no longer freezing like a animic person. For the first time in 8yrs I started sweating and did not have my cravings associated with animic patients.

Excellent, competent, knowledgeable, compassionate, polite, friendly and very highly recommended. Dr Hsu treated my husband's myeloma with efficiency and compatibility. Thanks to God first then to Dr. Hsu, my husband now is in full remission. I highly recommend him and really cannot thank him enough.
