Brad Joonschik Yoo

Dr Yoo has been my Ortho surgeon for the last 3 years. I had a very bad compound fracture of both my tibia and fibula bones. I thought that I was going to lose my leg. Thanks to Dr Yoo’s impeccable knowledge and determination he saved my leg. He performed the most intense and meticulous surgeries that put my leg back at 100% performance. My bones are completely healed. He also explained, in detail every procedure with me. I would recommend him to anyone who needs any type of orthopedic care.

Dr Brad Yoo is an outstanding doctor. He's not only a great surgeon, he has the best bed side manor of any doctor that I have ever been too. I highly recommend anyone that has an ankle injury to see him! He's the very best!

Dr Yoo is an excellent surgeon - very caring - when I first met him, I was very nervous- I had fractured my ankle and was afraid - he sat down and explained everything to my husband and myself- went through 2 surgeries and he was always available for any questions- I would highly recommend him for any traumatic orthopedic injuries

Dr Yoo took quite a bit of time with me and listened to my concerns. I had extensive injuries and he was instrumental to my recovery.

Excellent! I met Dr. Brad Yoo at Yale-New Haven Hospital where he performed 3 surgeries to repair broken bones on both of my legs. A tibial plateau fracture to my left knee and breaks to my tibia and fibula on my right ankle. These injuries were the result of a bad fall while skiing in VT on March 26th. Dr. Yoo explained that I would need 3 surgeries to repair the damage - one to my left knee and 2 to my right ankle. I was impressed by his concern for my well-being and his wonderful bedside manner. Prior to the first set of surgeries, he shared the scans of my legs explaining and drawing pictures of what he would do in the operating room to repair them. He answered all my questions and reassured me that I would ski again next season. To date, I am non-weight bearing on both legs and remain under Dr. Yoo’s care until I can use both of my legs and return to my active life. My father tore a ligament in his foot after being hit by a dump truck and Dr. Yoo was recommended to us in the ER at Yale New Haven Hospital. We were very pleasantly surprised! Dr. Yoo took the time to explain every detail of the injury, the surgery, and the recovery. He even drew us a picture of a foot to help explain what happened. His knowledge is incredible and he is patient and understanding, which is very rare for a doctor/surgeon these days. Surgery went great and we are very pleased.

I saw Dr. Yoo for a complex ankle fracture during Dec. 2016 amidst the rare Portland snow storm. He seemed to go above and beyond to listen and retain information about hardware problems as healing progressed. Every office visit I had with Dr. Yoo was informative and concise. He is no longer at OHSU much to my dismay though I wish him good tidings at his next venture.

I met Dr Yoo due to a severe work injury. I had fallen off a ladder from a great height and suffered a open air calcaneus fracture. I was more than a little concerned about the future outlook for my family and myself. Dr. Yoo's direct honesty and genuine sincerity was one of the only things during 7 days in the trauma dept. of OHSU that relieved my anxiety and help me feel that everything that could be done was being done. I would choose no other doctor going forward.

Dr. Yoo treated my daughter for a complex ankle fracture, one which left us concerned about her ability to use her ankle normally after the auto accident she was involved in. He was detailed and informative about his plan for surgery, her prognosis, and specifically reviewed the factors influencing his surgical intervention (placement of plates, etc.). Dr. Yoo is clearly experienced and knowledgeable, and we are grateful that she is healing beautifully.
