I had a horrible experience with Dr. Balson. I went to see him concerned about allergies. During our appointment he was dismissive, rude and hostile. His 'bedside manner' was terrible! At one point I mentioned the hunch I had in regards to my allergic reaction and he said " who is the doctor, you or me? If you've already diagnosed yourself, tell me what you're doing here" RUDE!!! He didn't actually help me in any regard and later when I was getting tests done he stormed in and caused a scene at the lab. A month and zero answers later, it turned out my initial hunch he so rudely dismissed was correct. In addition to this terrible waste of time, I just received a medical bill from his office for $1,400 after they'd said I was covered by insurance! Ridiculous and I will not be paying it. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere, this doctor is just the worst!!

TERRIBLE! Go elsewhere. Important to read this review because it's the truth and proves this guy is a fraud. After experiencing hives for the second time after eating shellfish, I went to Dr. Balson for food allergy testing. I was surprised to see the dated medical devices and equipment in his office given he's located in a well-established and highly reputable area along Beacon Street Brookline. After he scratched my arms with the testing nodules, that actually looked quite dirty, I was almost nervous about having contracted something from them. The initial skin tests didn't show any signs of an allergy, so he sent me downstairs for blood work. Before leaving the office, they set up a follow-up appt in 2 weeks. Just returned from the follow-up, which they charged me a second $35 co-pay only to find out that ALL RESULTS WERE NEGATIVE and there's nothing further that needed to be done. WHY did they call me back for a second appointment to tell me all results were negative? I was

My daughter received immunotherapy from doctor Balson. For many years he was a responsible , reliable source of all our needs with her severe asthma. He is gentle, good with kids, not a single time she objected going there.
