Dr. Bernard J Buchanan

This man has been wonderful to me! I love his wit, and I know that he is very smart and truly cares about me and my outcome. I'm now retired (he has treated me for the past 20 years) and of course am thinking of moving to Florida and such, but have to think about how I would possibly leave the area as I know that I would never find a better Doctor! By the way, Owensboro is a really nice town (we live in Henderson). Cannot give enough kudos to Dr. Buchanan!!!

Exceptionally professional in every respect. Everyone works as a team and knew what they were doing. From the receptionist, to the physicians assistant, to the lab technicians...every single person treated me with exceptional courtesy and respect. And friendliness—which is a really big deal to me because I have serious white coat syndrome. It was my first appointment and I was seen on time, the PA was approachable and thorough, then the lab re-opened just for me even though they had closed. The lab is right there on site…a plus in itself. Very seriously, this is medicine the way it should be-I was treated like I was what mattered most. A practice that is run with exceptional competence and professionalism— rare and refreshing.

Very poor communication from this office when you have issues. They require you to leave messages for a return call. Multiple times I have left 3 messages on 3 separate days before getting a response. Long wait times, I was once scheduled for an appointment at 9:15am when the doctor was not scheduled to come in until 11am. My pharmacy has now twice reached out for a renewal request and received no response in 10 days.

I have been a patient of Dr. Buchanan since 1988. I highly respect his dedication to endocrinology and basing his practice on research.

Dr. B has been my dr for more than 20 years. He’s goofy and silly, and intelligent and thorough! When something is going on with me that he isn’t 100% sure on, he refers me to someone who he is 100% confident will find out. I appreciate his health CARE more than any provider I have ever met. He is a true caregiver and wants to see his patients have the best quality of life possible.

He is really smart and treats your issues correctly. (period) I could care less about bedside manner, I just want to feel as though my medical issues are being treated correctly.

Dr. Buchanan is the only physician I would trust with mine & my family’s health. Takes time to explain everything. Absolutely the best!

Dr Buchanan is a great doctor. Saved my life. Considered by many patients and those connected to the medical field to be a genius

Dr Buchanan is super intelligent and personable! I will not see any other Endocrinologist as long as he is alive - period!

Dr. Buchanan has been my physician for over 20 years. He has guided my journey with Diabetes with exceptional skill and apparent results. He has been readily available at any timethrough his staff. He has a humorous dry bedside manner. I always encourage anyone I meet that has diabetes to contact his office for an appointment.

Dr. Buchanan is the most intelligent dr. I have ever had. He is so accurate of diagnosis and follows through with any complications I am having. He was my in laws doctor for years and my daughters, husband and my doctor for years. When test are run he goes over everything and is very knowledgeable in treating any symptoms. I would never find a doctor like him. He is the best. I thank him for treating me like a patient should be treated. Would recommend Dr. Buchanan to everyone.
