About Dr. Babak Meir Goldman
Reviews for Dr. Babak Meir Goldman
Excellent, excellent physician Dr. Babak Goldman was our dad's doctor for hospice/palliative care at Providence St. Joseph's Burbank. He is extremely kind, caring, compassionate, soft-spoken, & has a lot of patience with all questions and discussions. His wonderful bedside manner and personality, make him an excellent palliative care physician. He's very educated, trained, and has terrific expertise. He explained everything about our dad's conditions, and what to expect. He then answered all questions we had, and we had a lot. He spent a lot of time with us at our meeting, and he never rushed us through any of it. He discussed goals, plans for our dad. He asked how we felt about things, and what our opinions were. I never wish to be in the hospital or hospice (of course), but if I ever needed an excellent doctor who could treat me, it would definitely be Dr. Babak Goldman. Thank you Providence St. Josephs Burbank, for hiring him on staff. We are very thankful that he was our dad's palliative physician.

Dr. Goldman is the worst doctor I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with. After two ER visits for excruciating pain relating to ruptured discs in my spine, I was admitted for pain control and management at Providence St. Joseph. The ER doctor followed a protocol for pain management and increased to a medication that worked, which was continued by the doctor upstairs after I was admitted. As soon as Dr. Goldman walked in to discuss pain management, he has made up his mind, even before speaking to me. He proceeded to ask invasive questions about my assault, which led to damage to my spine, a past disc replacement and and upcoming surgery. The questions he asked were personal in nature, purely stemming from curiosity, and offering no helpful information about the assault that would aid in my care. I answered his questions, while expressing my discomfort. Dr. Goldman decided to take me off of the pain management regimen, and offered me a lidocaine pain. The excruciating pain returned twice and I had to be put pain on pain meds after hours of pain so unmanageable? I could not breathe. The next day, Dr. Goldman returned and stated he did not believe I had an injury to my spine. He declined to look at my medical records that include recent (no older than 2 months) MRIs, CT scans and bone scans showing the ruptures, a history of pain management that includes chiropractics, med management, trigger point injections and epidurals for years as well as history of a previous disc replacement at C6. I also offered for him to speak to my current pain management doctor and spine surgeon about my history, current treatment and upcoming surgery. He declined and stated he did not believe my pain was real. He suggested it was all in my head and I should “get help.” Eventually, after continuing to explain the situation to him, he said “since you clearly always get what you want, here have the medicine” and stormed out in a fit of arrogance that was no different than a child’s tantrum. All the while, I was laying in the bed curled over in pain, as he repeatedly told me my pain was not real, and that I was just seeking medication. The medical records and offered MD consults were all readily available to him, but his arrogance proved too big of an obstacle to provide an adequate standard of care. After reading other reviews, I echo the sentiment that he became a doctor purely out of arrogance and the desire to feel superior to and hold power over others. The power dynamic was painfully obvious and he need to demonstrate his position of power led to a lack of care for me.

Goldman was my fathers doctor during his last days in ICU. Goldman was rude and heartless with no bedside manners. He kept pressuring us for a decision on my father and would get upset and cursed at us when we weren't ready with a decision quickly. He was heartless in his approach saying whatever decision we made it was going to be "expletive" and that he didnt have time to be dealing with it. He has no manners and compassion at all.

He kept pressuring us for a decision on my father and would get upset and cursed at us when we weren't ready with a decision quickly. He was heartless in his approach saying whatever decision we made it was going to be sh*t. He needs to take a course in manners and compassion because he has none.
Dr. Goldman is one of the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is kind and understanding and always goes above and beyond. His staff are equally kind and lovely.
Dr. Goldman is nothing but a rude and unprofessional doctor. He treated my family member, which was his patient, horribly. Any question I would ask him, he would respond with attitude and he sounds aggravated at all times. I will not recommend anyone to go and see him. Avoid him at all costs
If you ever needed a sign about whether or not to choose this doctor- here it is-NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! He is rude, unprofessional, lacks morals or values and most of all NOT A REAL DOCTOR. The mere fact that Babak (I refuse to give anyone a title that they didn't earn) has a job as a practicing doctor is concerning. The main reason (there are many) is because he doesn't care and it is very obvious he became a doctor for pretentious reasons. He left my father in a condition where if my family didn't ask fast, we would have lost him. While sharing this information with him, he proceeded to yell at me and his behavior was out of line. I guess when people hold him accountable he doesn't like it very much.
Dr. Babak Goldman is an awful doctor he has no bedside manner, he is treating my dad at Providence Saint Joseph, my dad has been admitted since Dec 4, 2020. Dr. Goldman is undecisive in his care and recommendations, he told us that basically our dad has no quality of life and when we asked about a procedure Dr. Goldman recommended, and we said we have hope and faith that maybe this option will help our dad, he said "hope! What is hope?!" . I find that surprising from a hospital that choose to work at a Catholic hospital, where we believe in having hope, faith and the power of prayers. I hope no one ever puts their loved one in the care of Dr. Babak Goldman, and I hope no one ever tells him to no have "hope" for one of his loved ones.

My family and I had the misfortune of meeting Dr. Babak Goldman at Providence St. Joseph in Burbank. His associate had prescribed a medication that should have never been considered given the patient's condition, resulting in medically induced dementia. Dr. Babak refused to accept the fact that less than 48 hours earlier my father was coherent and lucid; refused to listen to my mother and I's concerns and tore off his gloves, stormed out of the room shouting "I am done." No bedside manners.

Dr. Goldman is the most professional, understanding, intelligent doctors my family had the honor to meet. Our grandmother has been ill for some time now. He explained our options with ease and sympathy which helped our family make a hard decision less traumatizing and stressful. His knowledge and expertise is beyond any other doctor has shown us. I am truly grateful for his help and highly recommend him. Dr. Goldman is truly gold!

Being in the Healthcare Industry; I trusted my Father's last days of life to the hands of an exceptionally knowledgable Provider (Dr. Goldman) and a compassionate human being. His understanding to the family needs and difficult decision making surpassed my expectations. Words can not describe his professionalism.
Dr Goldman has been taking care of my palliative needs for 1yr now. Through my ups and downs emotionally realizing my illness Dr Goldman has give countless hours both on and off scheduled time. He always sees me whenever im in the hospital overnight and stays after hours to make sure my pain is in control. During one of my stays after a thoracotomy's surgery dr Goldman went out of town for personal vacation and gave me his cell phone and checked on me as well. Cares about his patients beyond.
Dr. Goldman has a heart of gold! He is compassionate, patient, detailed, understanding. I just lost my husband after a long illness and Dr. Goldman helped us along the way and was there for us in need. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor!
Very compassionate and warm. The perfect Doctor at a time when our family was facing some difficult times. Would highly recommend.
Warm, caring, compassionate. Excellent medical knowledge and meds ode manner. Excellent team. Would definitely recommend.
Dr. Goldman was the perfect doctor to help me and my family when it was time for a loved one to pass on. Patient, understanding, and true to his word.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Goldman. He was the attending physician for my mom when Dr. Beaton was on vacation. He is very knowledgeable and sincere. The previous hospice doctor we encountered in St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood was terrible. That is why we moved my mom to Burbank. He really made it easy for us to make the right decision for my mom. Thank you very much, Dr. Goldman. My mom passed away Dec24 at 10pm gently and peacefully. I would want him to be my hospice doctor.
