Ashok Modha

I have never met or talked to or heard of him before this week, but when one dear to me collapsed with a seizure earlier this week and was subsequently diagnosed with a large brain tumor affecting her left motor cortex, Dr. Modha (after working a full week of already scheduled surgeries) took part of his weekend to fit in one more. She is awake and already moving her right side. There are not enough gratitudes in this world to thank him enough.

Incredibly compassionate provider. Explains the condition and management thoroughly and in an easy to understand manner.

I've had a wonderful experience as a patient of Dr. Ashok Modha. He is kind and explained my condition clearly. I am pleased with the surgery he performed. Recommend.

I feel so blessed to have Dr. Mohda as my surgeon. He is not only a skilled professional doctor but is also very loving and caring with his patients. He heals your body and puts your mind at rest giving you complete care. If there were more stars he would get them.

Had back surgery Sept 4. First 2 week after pain was level 8 to 9. Pain has gradually declined to a 3 to 4 level. This after over 3 months. Left leg and lower back have constant pain. Very hard to stand for more than 5 minutes without increasing the pain level. Cannot walk without limp. Ruined my life. Cannot do things I normally do. Modha told me the surgery went very well. Very informative, and genuinely concerned about my medical condition.

He is attentive. He listens. He did a great surgery on my neck.

So professional and thorough! I wish he could ALSO be my primary physician.

Going through some scary is hard but Dr Modha has been great.

Really impressed with Dr. Modha. He took time to fully explain why I was feeling the symptoms I have and proposed a couple options rather than just jumping in to surgery.

I have known since last july that something wasnt right with me physically and/or neurologically. Mid july i woke up one morning wth excruciating pain in my neck. The pain was so bad it made me nauseous and i couldnt hold my head up because it hurt so much. I lay in bed for 3 days,popping excedrine for migraines,ibuprofen, acetaminophen, using cbd oil,bengay,everything i could think of to try to make the pain go away. I couldnt even cry because crying made the headache tied to my mysterious neck pain worse. It finally subsided and thats when i began noticing i had no balance,i was unsteady on my feet,i was wobbly when i walked and none of it i had any control of. Then the stumbling and falling began. I was constantly dropping things,i wouuld hit my head on stuff ALL THE TIME. And i had no control of any of these things either. So in sept i went to my dr and told her something was wrong. She could very obviously see my unsteady gait,the weakness in my arms,etc. Bloodwork was done but no answers were found there either. Well in dec of 2020,because of the caring and attentive drs and neurologists that all are on the Peace Health Hospital roster,a diagnosis was found,and not a moment too soon. Dr Modha will b doing surgery on my spine friday morning and its a procedure that is probably gonna save my life and preserve,if not,enhance my quality of life. He is so very personable and his bedside manner is second to none. I had progressive sciatic pain for almost four years. Dr Modha performed a hemilaminectomy on two discs. I literally walked the first day without pain. I didn't even need my pain meds for surgical pain. In 8 days I went for a hike. No pain. I didn't have to go to my 1 month follow up visit because I was pain free. No need for therapy. It's been a little over four months since my surgery and I can't say enough about the excellent skill and care I received from Dr. Modha and his staff. My surgery was beyond my expectations and I'm so grateful that I chose Dr. Modha and Rebound.

The staff and Dr Ashok Modha were very professional and explained everything thing to me prior to my surgery. The operation went well and I had no complications. They followed up with me regularly after the surgery. I have never felt this good in a long time thanks to this doctor. I would recommend him to anyone with back pain

Dr. Modha Was very clear in explaining the diagnosis and treatment of my spinal situation. He answered all of my questions pertaining to the risks and usual recovery from this type of surgery to my satisfaction. Dr. Modha wrote some things out for me that I can use to research the intended surgical procedure on my own. I have nothing but admiration and respect for Dr Modha. He went beyond his charge to evaluate me and diagnosed me with my cancer. Without his initiative and determination I still would not be able to know if I had cancer or not. He certainly is a top-notch medical person.

Dr Modha is a very nice doctor with a sense of humor. He is great about answering your questions quickly and appointments are always short and to the point.

I was very impressed with Dr Modha. He took the time that I needed and I never felt the sense of him looking at his watch. He explained with clarity and precision the information in my MRI and treatment options at this point. He is willing to take a conservative approach which I also appreciated. Dr. Mohda was very attentive and knowledgeable. We came from a long distance to see him because he was highly recommended by two different people. He was willing to work with us over the phone for further appointments when possible and look at MRIs from our local hospital. We would highly recommend him.

Dr. Modha is amazing. He is very professional. You can tell by his schedule that he is very busy, but both during appointments and pre-surgery he has time to discuss your situation and answer questions never rushing through.

We came to Dr. Modha on the advice of my husband’s primary care physician. He needed to see a neurology surgical oncologist for a serious problem. Dr. Modha carefully explained the situation, what could and couldn’t b done and the consequences of either. He had thought thru these matters.and recommended a course of treatment with the potential for a positive outcome with minimal damage. He continues to participate in and consult on the treatment. He is very kind yet direct when communicating with us.

I did not know what to expect during the first visit. Dr. Mohda was calming in his demeanor. He explained what was what and what to expect. Calmed our fears. When asked his honest medical opinion he gave it in such a calming and reassuring way. He gave us information to read answered my questions in such a way i felt good about my visit with him. I was impressed with the quickness of calling and getting the appointment. I didnt hsve time to be scared or nervous. I would recommend him as a primary brain surgeon or even 2nd opinion.

Had my first meeting with Dr. Modha last week to discuss treatment for a pituitary tumor. The appointment went well and I agree with the plan.

I truly appreciated Dr.Modha’s clear, professional and patient explanations to questions and concerns regarding treatments, etc.

I saw Dr. Modha because after 2 epidural injections, months of Physical therapies and accupunture treatments I'm still having excrutiating pain caused by herniated disc. Dr Modha was professional, confident, kind and patience; he listened and answered my questions, explained the procedure and postsurgery care, as well as the risks involved should I decide to proceed with the surgery... I left his office feeling confident that he's the right doctor to perform surgery on me.

Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Laminotomy and laminoplasty procedures were performed flawlessly!

Dr. Modha litterally saved my wife's life...he's a keeper...

I felt quite comfortable from the moment I stepped into the office, to the time I stepped out. Everyone was very warm.

I am very pleased with my observation of Rebound facilities and staff. I am particularly impressed with how well both doctors and staff interact with their patients.

Dr mohda is an amazing dr, he genuinely listens to your concerns and symptoms of whatever is bothering you. The best thing i like about him is the fact that he's of the mindset that surgery should be the last resort when treating you and i truly appreciate that about him. A more caring man you'll not find.

If you need an amazing surgeon, Mr Modha is the one, hands down. He was my 2nd opinion, which was the exact opposite of the 1st opinion and Modha was right, not Vancouver Clinic. Without Modha, my life would be different. Thankful and grateful

Dr. Modha has wonderful bedside manner. He spent 45 minutes with me discussing my symptoms, creating a plan, and discussing referrals and follow up care. His staff is friendly, and attentive. I definitely recommend Dr. Modha if you're in need of neurosurgery care.

Dr. Modha is, without a doubt, the best doctor I’ve ever gone to, for anything. He’s patient, kind, explains everything and then some, on whatever it is you’re seeing him for. Great surgeon! He did a marvelous job in saving my brother’s life. He had a stroke and was going in coma when he performed an aggressive surgery and saved his life. Thank God and thanks to Dr Modha!

Nice and knowledgeable doctor. Significantly better bedside manner than any other neurosurgeons that I've seen.

I was very scary when I found out I needed brain surgery. After my first visit I was a little overwhelmed and pleased that he went into complete details about his part of the surgery, and how and Dr. Furr had already discussed the plan on working together to make a better me. On the day of surgery I had no fear because this is what he does , and he good at it. Dr. Modha is a fantastic neurosurgeon, modest and also demonstrates compassionate care. I never felt rushed at any point and Dr. Modha always took the time to be present for me. In a difficult situation, I are very grateful he was my surgeon. His staff is friendly, respectful and always returned my calls in a timely manner.

When meeting with the doctor I thought he was very professional and told me exactly what was my problem and exactly what he could do for me he didn’t tell me all the things I wanted to know but the things I needed to know and I find that I would trust we trust him and feel I will have results

Dr. Modha thoroughly examined my complaints and explained his findings and proposed solutions. He took the time to answer all my questions. Unlike some surgeons I have met, he is very pleasant and not at all condescending.

Dr. Modha was wonderful. He was a little late getting to my appointment from a surgery that went long but once arrived there was absolutely no feeling of being rushed. He explained the results of my MRI thoroughly and proposed treatment with surgery being a last resort. He was totally attentive and made me feel I was his most important patient. I hope I won’t need further visits but if I do I will totally trust Dr . Modha
