Did extensive testing after my pain management did nothing to help me with my pain
This man took amazing care of my mother.
I am ecstatic! After 11 years of my daughter having issues and working with Cooks Children Dr. Imam and Lindsey suggested another medication. Instantly I noticed a difference. They are so helpful and the staff are amazing.
Today was very exciting. Dr. Imam had new information for me on both of my immune deficiencies. I will review all the booklets he provided and will help me choose the best treatmet plan. I am hoping it will make my and my families life better. Thank you.
Dr Imam and his staff are amazing. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and they are always friendly, caring and patient. Scheduling an appointment is easy and you spend very little time in the waiting room. If there are billing questions or insurance issues they make sure to handle it quickly. You aren’t surprised with a ridiculous bill at the end of the month. Dr Imam makes sure that you leave there understanding what’s going on. I have never left there feeling as though he rushed through my visit. He listens to you, he’s willing to go that extra mile, he stays up to date on the newest treatments and options. Most of all he’s extremely caring and he takes your frustrations personally and wants to be part of the solution. He makes the phone calls back to you, explaining your results and that is something you don’t get from a lot of doctors. I can’t say enough kind things about Southlake Neurology, they are hands down the BEST! Dr Imam and his staff are amazing. My entire family sees Dr Imam. We love him! He’s knowledgeable on a wide range of medical issues, listens to us and works hard to find solutions for our medical concerns. He has recently changed front office staff and that has greatly improved the quality of care. That was my only concern before. Can’t say enough about how highly we think of both Dr. Imam and Lindsey. I do not recommend this office due a terrible customer service experience.
I had a good experience under the care of Lindsey for about two years. I was being treated for narcolepsy and moderate sleep apnea. However, at some point in September, I was terminated as a patient. I’m not sure why this happened, but I presume it’s for expressing my frustration with being expected to reschedule my appointment after arriving 8 minutes late. I had taken off work, missed a class, and drove 45 minutes through unexpected traffic to be there that day, but I was still told I would have to reschedule. I was offered some appointment slots to come back in, but they were all several weeks away and none of them worked in my busy schedule. I work two jobs and I am a college student, so I don’t have much availability. I decided to ask for my records before I left because my assumption was that I would just have to find another doctor who could work with my chaotic schedule. I have since quit one of those jobs, which opened up some availability during the week for me. So, I decided to call and schedule an appointment so I could get my prescription refilled. It was then that I was first informed that I had been terminated as a patient. I don’t know what to make of this situation. I do understand that I was late, but it was not even by 10 minutes. I have always had to wait about 20 to 30 minutes before I saw Lindsey, so I have trouble understanding why arriving 8 minutes late due to traffic from a car accident would have thrown off the clinic’s schedule. So in short, I do not think Southlake Neurology will give you poor medical treatment. However, they will not accommodate busy people or people who work hourly jobs with inconsistent scheduling. I had a smaller paycheck from taking off from work that day, a consequence that could have easily left me unable to pay rent or buy groceries for that week. Being terminated led to me losing access to the medications I was taking, but hopefully I can find another doctor who specializes in neurology and sleep medicine before too long to treat my excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy. DECEPTIVE BILLING PRACTICES - They still wanted me to pay for their mistake. To recap: my wife went to get a full-face mask for me, she was quoted $110 dollars and was told this would be out of pocket and would not be covered under insurance (ie would not be submitted to insurance). 2 weeks later we get a bill where they charged insurance for $335 and they requesting we pay the remainder of the $93.13. Now keep in mind this was their error in quoting the price to a (customer/patient). Instead of saying hey our mistake we will take care of that for you - they still are demanding I pay the remaining balance of $93.13. Not sure if they understand a patient is also a paying customer and customer service is still part of the experience but sometimes in customer service, we do the right thing – take care of the customer. Needless to say, I will never return to this practice office. In addition they charge $280 for the mask and you can search online AirFitF30i mask and they start at $159.00.
I am a veteran so I was choiced out of the Dallas VA to see Dr. Imam and I am mainly leaving this review for other veterans. I’m not used to being choiced out into the community so I hope this will be useful to other veterans. First off, let me start with I’m being treated for pseudo tumor cerebri or idiopathic intracranial hypertension. I was referred to Baylor hospital in grapevine for a spinal tap where I had spinal tap complications which were NO FAULT of doctor Imams and he handled the complications great! It did take him a few days to get to the hospital but that was the hospitals fault and when he did get there he immediately started a treatment plan and got me feeling soo much better. Before I moved to DFW I had been receiving botox to help with migraines (botox for migraines is a LIFE CHANGER look into it if you suffer from migraines!!) from Overton Brooks VA hospital for about a year straight. So I had want to transfer my botox to Dr. Imams office and I had gotten insurance approval but for some reason insurance and Dr. Imams office could never get on the same page. I would call the office repeatedly and they would say they would have an employee call me back and I would never receive a call back. I would go up to the office and they said they would have someone look into it and call insurance and get in contact with me and I would never receive a call back. I even had the Dallas VA hospital call Dr. Imams office about figuring out what needs to be done to get me botox. After FOUR months of just trying and trying to get botox I had finally just thrown in the towel and I requested my insurance and primary care provider to switch neurologist (I now go to Tarrant Neurology) and it literally only took 2 weeks to get approved for botox. Also, another thing I had a sleep study done. NO ONE communicated to me that I would need to do the sleep study through the VA hospital to have it covered. I just assumed that when they scheduled the sleep study that insurance covered it. So I’m still hoping and praying that insurance will cover it because I’m on a very limited income. I think Dr. Imam is a great, fantastic doctor. He is incredibly intelligent. I really loved having him as a neurologist! Even the nurse practitioners working under him were super great! So I don’t want anyone to think this as a negative review. I just want other veterans to PLEASE call your insurance and make sure that whatever is approved first. Also, be prepared to have lots and lots of patience. I couldn’t do it anymore. My migraines are just to bad and I need botox. My only negative review is just the lack of communication about billing. And that is a really BIG negative. I am a veteran so I was choiced out of the Dallas VA to see Dr. Imam and I am mainly leaving this review for other veterans. I’m not used to being choiced out into the community so I hope this will be useful to other veterans. First off, … More

Dr Asher and the office staff are terrific. Amanda was extremely helpful with an insurance issue. I can't thank her enough. Seriously, she's awesome. You'd be wise to investigate their services when requiring someone in that particular medical field.
I was sent to Dr. I am by the Veteran's Administration since travelling to Dallas was to far for me. He was very professional and I understood what to expect from my appointment. I have a true game plan to take care of my health after talking with him. Thank you Dr. for your help with Veteran's like myself!
I have been a patient of Dr. Asher Imam since 2012 That’s when my health started to decline where I was showing multiple symptoms that could lead to multiple diagnosis which is very unsettling for a person to hear who is suffering with debilitating pain. We 2012 - 2014 in that time Dr. Imam diagnosed a few of my symptoms and addressed them with either meds or referred me to a couple other specialty doctors in doing so those symptoms went away. It was not over I still had other symptoms that where progressively becoming much worse and debilitating to the point of not being able to function physical and mentally. With out my faith in God my strong family beside me and Dr. Imam not giving up in 2014-2015 where he continued to run multiple test all while keeping me informed of what he thought the diagnoses was but did not want to give it a label until he was 100% confident so that he could provide me with the proper aggressive treatment In the mean time he started medications that would be approved by health insurance until he could provide them with a preponderance of evidence that I did in fact have CIDP Oct 2015 is when he started me On Gamunex-C infusions 4 days a week for 8hrs a day every 4 weeks costing $100k per 4 days. May 2016 I was taken by ambulance to the ER where I was admitted in to ICU and under went Plasmapheresis for 5 days. So from 2012 - 2015 that’s 4 years I was diagnosed with 5 auto immune diseases that profoundly affected my life for the rest of my life and if it where not for my faith in God the strength of my family and the ability of Dr Imam I know I would not be a live. Let me close by saying Dr. Asher Imam is by far the best neurologist in North Texas I have referred him to four other people who as well feel the same. Thank You Dr. Asher Imam my family and I appreciate what you have done for me and we lift you up in our prayers often. God is Great!! I've seen Dr. Imam for over 10 years. He's always been very helpful. Not only does he listen, but he really wants his patients to feel better. He will go the extra mile! I actually had a brain tumor that was discovered on my optic nerve in 2019. It took a while to find a neurosurgeon, which only stressed me out even more. Yet, Dr. Imam helped tremendously during this time. He did research on who would be the best neurosurgeon for my case, as it was in a very sensitive location. He also met with me and my family, getting us in quickly, to discuss our concerns. Just being able to have someone on my side and help explain things really helped with my anxiety.
My wife and I have seen Dr Iman for 10 years plus. Her for migraine headaches and sleep study for me.Always knowledge about our problems and how to help with problems.
Solid patient care from Dr.Imam and his resident protege
Dr. Imam was in a rush. Spent 10-15 min looking annoyed he had to be there. Front of the house staff Laura very unhelpful and rude when I asked for the results of my brain MRI. 3 weeks later and she says ‘well, no one asked for them’ - um not true. So you order an mri and dont think anyone cares what the results are? I’d never go back.

I have been a patient of Dr. Imam’s for several years after being referred for possible sleep apnea. For 4-5 years I have visited his clinic to order supplies for my CPAP despite excessive cost associated with those supplies and there limited life. If you have insurance, the office will submit your order and whatever is not covered will be billed as is standard for insurance companies. I received a call on March 5 from your office which I assumed was for a balance due or to try to reschedule my annual appointment to renew my “prescription”. When I arrived at your office today your customer service representative advised that my account was in collections (probably not the best way to start a conversation). I was advised my account was past due from May and June of 2018 despite visiting your office on 2-3 occasions since that time and never being asked to pay even upon my inquiry. I have always paid for services owed up front and in person. Of course I paid for my balance in full. If my account was that far past due why did I only received 1 phone call in 9 months (check your records)? Why was I not reminded of the balance during my follow up visits? Is it possible there was an error on the billing side? Lord knows there is not a doctor’s office that has not had that issue. Please advise your staff to tone down the “your in collections” rhetoric, especially for your long time patients/customers! Poor customer service. Also, it might make some sense when your supply person suggests that you are eligible for replacement products that are covered by insurance they do a better job explaining how that works. Love Dr. Imam! I have had chronic, daily migraines for a long time. He put me on a regimen that not only have subsided my migraine symptoms, but I have been able to discontinue my daily medication also. I would not go anywhere else and do not recommend any one else. He is the best!!
Dr. Imam is the best doctor I have ever had in my life. Without his continual care I would have a very poor quality of life with MS and MG. His staff is amazing, and always ready to assist me in any way needed. I highly recommend Dr Imam and his office to anyone needing neurological care.
I was diagnosed tentatively with MS several years ago. The guy I saw was not an MS specialist. Dr. Imam is, and is a great example of why I always try to see specialists. He spent a significant amount of time with me and was very personable (though I'm as into sports as he is :-). He showed me on my films where the pattern was that demonstrated there was no "tentative" about it. He ordered a follow up MRI and the results of my spinal tap. Thorough and helpful. His staff isn't always very cheerful, but I'm not there to see them. Update: I moved out of state and am seeing a new doc. She’s asked some questions and offered information that Dr Imam didn’t. Dr. Imam has treated me for my MS for over 6 years now. He is very knowledgeable and personable. I never feel rushed, and he takes time to both explain and answer any questions I may have. I feel like a person and not just a number. He’s like an extended family member now because I have spent so much time in the office...lol. I will see no other Neurologist. He has helped me a lot and continues to do so. I highly recommend this doctor for those with MS.
His front office worked with my schedule as I was about to lose my current insurance. Also tech Lacie who did my sleep study was very nice. Dr was very good. Spent time and explained. My second sleep study didn't get entered in the computer so I will have to wait a few weeks but they promised to call if someone cancelled.
He is an excellent doctor and teacher.

I was referred to Dr. Imma from Dr Straus to find the reason for my foot drop. He did a through testing and sent me for a MRI. He found the nerves crushed between my L5-S1. I'm currently recovering from a major 360 spinal surgery and hopefully soon he will help me to get these nerves to fire again so I can walk without braces. It's a tall order but I've got to try. Very nice staff and doctor Asher Imam. I have been going to him for years now and my daughter and we both love going to him. even now that we self pay for only $100.00 is still cheap depending on how much you have to see him. but he is a great doctor.
Knowledgeable, experienced and to the Point. Listened to me and reviewed all testing done prior. HE actually called me with results, not a nurse. Feel very confident in his diagnosis.

Keep a log/diary of your symptoms b/c Dr. Iman seems to like details. Dr. Iman is fact-based & a great educator. He seems to like what he does. Do your research, have well-thought list of questions. Dr. Iman listens.
I suffered a left brain stem stroke, then less than 4 months later my car was rear-ended by a drunk driver speeding in excess of 100mph. At Parkland Hospital ER, the diagnosis was "sprained neck". Within a short time frame, I became increasingly forgetful. I would repeatedly leave my office to attend physical therapy, but forget where I was driving, and wind up at home. That doctor's diagnosis: I needed testosterone therapy. I was terrified that the accident had triggered Alzheimers disease, which robbed my mother of her final 18 years. I saw the neurologist who treated my stroke. His diagnosis was "post concussion syndrome". Time frame for recovery: a month or two. One year later, I was no better. I felt like I was living in a slightly different dimension than everyone else. I made the same mistakes over and over and over. Ultimately I visited Dr Imam, because of his experience with Stroke and TBI. After describing the two TBI events, and my symptoms, Dr Imam performed standard tests at his office. Then he advised me with confidence that my problem was not Alzheimer's disease. Instead, he explained that during the high-impact rear-end collision, my brain had suffered a physical injury called "Diffuse Axonal Injury". Prognosis: full recovery within 2 years. But when 2 years had passed, there was zero improvement. Ultimately I was issued neurological testing, and in Oct 2015 was prescribed a medication meant to stimulate brain self-repair. By Jan 2016 I was feeling better. Now May 2016, the "fog" has somewhat cleared, and I am feeling more and more like ME again. Dr Imam is straight-forward. There is no sugar-coating when he speaks. I am hoping for some really good news from him soon, but if he advises me that I am not out of the woods yet, then I have 100% confidence that he is correct. Without Dr Imam's diagnosis, positive outlook, and advice along the way, I don't know if I could have waited this patiently. Thank you so much! My position was suddenly terminated as well as my health insurance. This left me with only 10 days to get into doctor appointments, most of them all new. I missed my first appointment at SLN because I couldn't wake up, a problem for which I scheduled my appointment. I was more than 15 minutes late for the second appointment and the office pleasantly rescheduled my appointment for Friday, Aug. 21st. All of this is said because Dr. Imam, Jaime, the PA, and all of the staff at Southlake Neurology pulled every resource that they could to help me. They devoted hours to my medical problems and my insurance situation. The staff went above and beyond to think of multiple ways and approaches to help me receive as much testing, examination and discussion as was needed within a critically short period of time. My health and my sudden lack of health insurance is my problem, not theirs. I was a brand new patient. My goal was to get some help before my insurance expired. I never expected the high and efficient level of service that I received. Previously, I saw a neurologist, who requested a brain MRI and whose office never returned my call to give me the results of my data. That was not acceptable. I'm thrilled that I drove by and saw the building there. I knew that I needed more than a low level c-pap test done at home. Dr. Imam and Jaime knew that there were multiple issues. I am very grateful for the efforts and kindnesses that this office bestowed upon me this week to get me some answers to my sleep and neurological problems. Thank you to all who assisted me. He is too busy to sit and have a conversation about your migraines, does not listen well and seems bored with yet another migraine patient.
At the recommendation of my Cardiologist, I made an appointment with Dr. Asher in November of 2015. I did a sleep study in early December and made it a point to remind them that because of my insurance, I needed everything handled in December, before my insurance ended. Several weeks went by and on December the 28th I get a call to come back in for yet another sleep study. I asked why another study was necessary and was given an answer that made no sense. I refused to come back for another study

I was referred to Dr. Imam by my regular doctor located in Southlake, TX. I was hesitant initially as I shared my problem, but he listened and provided a medication that I had issues with after I first administered it. Over time and as I would use the medicine only when and as necessary, it turns out that he (Dr. Imam) was correct in his diagnosis and right on par with the medicine I needed to deal with and control my problem. I would like to also state that I had been dealing with a rather unpredictable and severe problem with debilitating spasms for nearly five years and no other doctor or specialist that I had gone to was able to properly diagnose the problem and provide a solution that would help me gain control of my life again. I would also add that Dr. Imam was quite personable and courteous at all times and I would certainly recommend him as a very competent specialist. K. I can only comment on Dr. Imam's knowledge of migraines. I had a horrible experience under Dr. Imam's care in 2013. I had just moved to Dallas and went to the emergency room with a severe hemiplegic migraine. I had already experienced the numbness and auras before I got there. While I was there I lost my speech and confused words, which had never happened to me before after 24 years of having migraines. This scared me, especially since I was all alone in a new city. Dr. Imam, who claims to be a migraine specialists, told me and my mother (who also has suffered from migraines for over 30 years and has lost her speech before) that he had never seen anyone lose their speech or confuse words before. This can be found on almost any list of migraine symptoms and on Web MD. Instead of checking with a reference or another neurologists he refused to believe this is what I had and said I had an altered mental state. I left the care of Dr. Imam and went home and subsequently missed 10 days of work because I had severe migraines for 5 days straight. I am lucky to have a wonderful GP in Dallas who said I had been misdiagnosed and knew I was having migraines. She sent me to a wonderful neurologist in Dallas who knew exactly that I was stuck in a migraine cycle and worked with me to pinpoint the cause of the migraines and was able to break the migraine cycle. I have had hemiplegic migraines for 24 years and have had several neurologists in other cities including NYC who have always known my symptoms immediately and have helped me work through the migraine cycle. I have never seen any doctor claim to be a specialist in something that they not only did not know all of the symptoms, but also refused to help work with someone who needed help. I am thoroughly disappointed in Dr. Imam's migraine knowledge and would not recommend him for anyone suffering with migraines. I can only comment on Dr. Imam's knowledge of migraines.
