Dr. Y helped me recover from two back injuries. thankfully, i feel much better thanks to his expertise and assistance from his staff. he really cares about getting you back to where you want your body to be. thank you Dr. Y!

My entire experience with Dr. Yannopoulos was exceptional. The level of care and compassion that I received was nothing short of sensational. Both he and his staff helped me to navigate the entire process with ease. In particular Dianna was there to answer every question. Helped me to navigate the whole fmla process. dr.notes, etc. Thank you!

This is one of the best, most well run medical practices I have ever been to. I have been cared for by Dr. McAllister, Dr. Mara, Dr. Yannopoulis, PA Berube, and PA Roberts. I have had 4 surgeries, and care for a chronic back problem, and arthritis. Every aspect of my care has been excellent. All of the providers and medical assistants do a great job and are very pleasant. I have never felt rushed. The front desk staff and business office personnel are equally great. I have recommended this practice to several other people and they have all been extremely pleased with the care. Couldn't give this place a higher recommendation.

Very nice office staff. Dr. Y was very helpful and showed me results of X-rays. Recommended a shot for my extremely painful knee. Within hours I felt 100% better and 2 weeks later still feels great. Very pleasant experience with all the staff.

After multiple Dr's visits and several months of physical therapy, chronic hip pain is still unresolved. This is despite no trauma to the hips, very clean MRI and no joint damage. Dr's recommendation was basically learn to accept the chronic low grade pain and take OTC painkillers when needed. Not a good answer. A better response might have been to have a collaborative in-person review with the patient, doctor, and physical therapist, ideally in the same room. But our healthcare system doesn't make this type of collaboration easy. Exploring self-directed Hip pain course/solution (Precision movement) from a Orthopedic Dr, and PT in Toronto. Looks promising, expectation is that will take time and effort, but the results will be worth it.

I’ve seen Dr Yannopouos 3 times. He has always been calm, professional, friendly, and informative. Answered all my questions immediately and clearly. He never seemed to be in a great rush to ghetto the next patient if Istillhadconcerns.

Dr. Y is an exceptional doctor. He truly cares about his patients and will do anything he can for them. My family has seen him for over 20 years for a variety of surgeries. I trust him implicitly. There is no one better!

Dr. Y is an exceptional, superior surgeon that is highly respected by his patients and colleagues. The staff at the Avon office keep things moving and are friendly. Wait time was average, but beware of double booking. Dr. Yannopoulos came highly recommended and continues to live up to that reputation. His experience is vital and he is respectful, pleasant and willing to look beyond to diagnose your problem.

Knowledgeable and likable… always seems to be in a hurry. Probably has many patients, locations and hospital surgeries per week.

I’ve never not recommended a doctor before. My experience seeing him was upsetting to say the least. His bedside manner is atrocious. As someone who works in a healthcare, person-centered field, this is so important. I went in due to recurrent low back/hip pain with frequent radiating down the leg. I went for a PT consult a few days prior so knew where the muscle concerns were. I just wanted an updated X-ray to see if any curvature had progressed and to help it to inform the PT treatment. He immediately told me to stop worrying, this curvature isn’t causing any pain, it’s all musculature. This is all fine and good, besides the fact that I couldn’t get a single word in to ask a simple question. I don’t discount his medical training, but my god let your patients be heard. More talking at than talking to, and condescending at that. In no less words he said “you’re fine keep doing what you’re doing goodbye.” I mean great to find out the scoliosis, which he kept saying wasn’t even classified as such, which um it is it’s just considered mild, isn’t causing the pain, but the appt could’ve had a completely different result if he actually cared. I would’ve appreciated if he came in and asked me to describe what’s going on, then showed me the X-ray findings, and finally in a calm (and not aggressive/talking down to manner) explained that the curvature isn’t likely to be causing the symptoms I have. When I told my PT’s about the experience, they were appalled and told me it wasn’t the first time they’d heard something of the sort. My PT’s were way more helpful. They actually do think the scoliosis curve is likely causing my symptoms to some degree. Poor bedside manner can completely erase any solid medical knowledge. I felt as if I was in the hands of an expert. He communicated clearly and I never questioned any component of the procedure or recovery. As the result of the procedure I am better than new!

Dr. Yannopoulos has a thorough understanding of different conditions and is clear about different aspects of treatment. His diagnosis was quick and accurate. The treatment fixed the shoulder issue in short time. Cooperation from the patient always helps. „Get better“ is not a wish but an imperative mode of operation.

Doctor Yannopoulos was thorough. Attentive. Compassionate. Took time to listen to my concerns and explained so that I could understand. Exceptional Doctor. I felt comfortable despite the medical concern that I was being treated for I appreciate his office staff and how pleasant they were. Aris (Dr.Yannopoulos) helped me navigate through the fog of spinal surgery options for L4-L5 severe spinal stenosis, a fog in part induced by fusions paying 3-4x more than a laminectomy, behavioral economics, widespread excessive use of fusions as a treatment option. Aris's initial review of my MRI enabled me to begin googling and learning about my specific situation and best practices for treating it, which in my case was a laminectomy and potential fusion if needed at some later date. I was thus able to carry out my interactions with potential surgeons from a perspective of informed due diligence. Of the three other surgeons I initially spoke with, 2 refused to do a laminectomy instead of a fusion and the third recommended a simultaneous laminectomy and fusion. Eventually I was able to identify and find a surgeon who specialized in laminectomies in a locale where I would have family post operative recovery support and whom I felt was acting in my best interests. I recently saw Dr. Yannopoulos in his office for a knee problem. I found him to be thorough and reassuring and I appreciated his conservative approach to my orthopedic problem.

Fought lumbar spine issues for 15+ years. Constant back pain and frequent muscle spasms due to herniated disk hitting nerves. These problems affected every aspect of my life preventing me from living the life I wanted to live. Post surgery and healing I haven’t had a single issue. My back hasn’t felt this good since I was in my teens. I’m finally able to live a normal life and enjoy every day. I couldn’t be more thankful for Dr. Yannopoulos, his willingness to listen to how I felt, and his entire team for fixing me and getting me back to a normal lifestyle! Thank you all so much!!!!

I had the disc between L 3 and 4 replaced on December 1, 2020. This past weekend I ran 5 miles, hiked and waterskied twice. I haven’t felt this great in years. Dr. Y tried everything to avoid surgery, but in the end, we determined together that it was unavoidable. I felt I was involved from the beginning, my ideas respected and ultimately I was in the drivers seat. I only needed pain meds the day after surgery and barely have a scar. Dr. Y is the best.

He has always provided quick and accurate diagnosis in a friendly and compassionate manner. He is knowledgeable and a great surgeon. Both my husband and I would refuse to see anyone else.

I saw Dr. Yannolpoulos after a car accident that injured my shoulder in 2014. The shoulder was very painful, and my range of motion very limited. Dr. Y sent me to physical therapy with little result. He sent me back to PT for several more weeks. When that failed to improve my shoulder, I requested he order an MRI. He refused. The last time I saw him, he told me there really wasn’t anything wrong with my shoulder, that I didn’t have a frozen shoulder,that he sent me to PT more sessions than any of his other patients, and that it was probably my fibromyalgia that was causing the pain. I was sobbing at this point. I called my primary who sent me to another orthopedist. This doctor examined me and asked, “Have you ever heard of a frozen shoulder?”. He ordered an MRI, and yes, I had a frozen shoulder. I was sent for more PT, but this time specifically for this diagnosis, and I eventually regained 80% of my range of motion. Friendly and concerned doctor who was knowledgeable and helpful with the condition of my son’s badly sprained ankle. Attentive staff, both receptionist and x-ray technician. I was completely satisfied with the care given!

Dr. Yannopoulos is very thorough. He recommends whatever tests & procedure s that he deems necessary and/or beneficial.He is candid & does “give in” to a patient’s demands and personal analysis.

Dr Y is a no nonsense man who gets straight to the point. After a short test of my strength in arms and legs he quickly ascertained that I ha enough nerve damage. He recommended physical therapy, which has helped. Also told me to make a concerted effort to NOT SLOUCH OVER, JUST LIKE MY WIFE ALWAYS REMINDS ME. IT HELPS ENORMOUSLY. BTW use ICE PACKS not HEAT.

Staff not well prepared, Barely civil. Dr. Yannopoulis was 40 minutes late. Superficial exam Totally missed major issues involving Brain/Pelvic tumors. Instead said a torn muscles was basic problem. Inept, Incompetent, Ill-trained!!!

It was easy to make a timely appointment and I was in and out relatively quickly. The facility was well equipped and Dr Yannopoulos was easy to talk to. He appears to be very knowledgeable and wants to be helpful and make recommendations for whatever the situation at hand is.

I had severe shoulder pain which he diagnosed as severe arthritis and wrote a script for PT. Everything is better now. He was very concerned and easy to work with

Excellent outcome . Removed a cyst 2/25/21 around L4 L5 . Walked out of surgical center with no pain. Also staff and facility at Lighthouse Surgical Center were top notch and friendly

First visit OK. Second visit terrible. Ranted and yelled at me. Was told I was self-diagnosing when I told him the sciatica pain was worse and the fact that I now had to use support stockings may be making it worse. This was a fact, not a diagnosis. I left that visit with no exam, no questions asked. Won't be back, but will be in touch with my insurance co.

I've seen Dr. Yannopoulos in the past for both knee injuries, a back injury, foot injury and twice for my shoulder (18 years apart) and NEVER had a bad experience with him. He's always been polite and very to the point. I saw him a couple days ago and won't see any other doctor but him.

Dr. Aris Yannopoulos is superior at spine surgery. After looking at my X-rays and my MRI results he was sure of the procedure needed to expedite my recovery. He was clear in describing both the problem and solution. Surgery was arranged quickly and performed with expert efficiency. I highly recommend this surgeon. He compliments his skills by surrounding himself with a caring support staff. My surgery was difficult and scary. DR YANNOPOUUULOS DID NOT TREAT ME RIGHT AS A PATIENT AND SAID ONE THING AND DID ANOTHER. HE YELLED AT ME AND UPSET ME.HE SAID ONE HE WAS GOING TO THROW ME OUT OF THIS OFFICE CAUSE I DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. HE HAS BAD BED SIDE MANNERS.I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR AT ALL.

I was treated like some others on here. I had him removed from my Workers Comp case through an official Workers Comp Hearing. Enough said.

This guy is the worsest Docter go see Dr.Kruger..I went there for a bad back for lower back pain he treated me so bad like I was faking the injury..most back problems Docters do not know how to fix it unless it's a disc problem. This guy works for workers comp F him!-!!

Saw Dr Y for a back injury after a fall. After just a few minutes, he assured me that no surgery was necessary. 3 weeks of physical therapy was suggested and exactly 3 weeks later I was back at work. Highly recomended.

Best surgeon and MD I've ever had. He Diagnosed me correctly prior to my MRI. If I needed anything he was there to help along with his medical assistant Dianna. Will always go to Dr. Yannpoulos if needed in the future. As a nurse I can say he is qualified and trusted.

Very short in my first visit, didn't have the best first impression in regards to bedside manner, but this guy knows his stuff. Successive visits were better personality-wise, and he probably saved my life. Have visited the Manchester and Rocky Hill offices, both are great. Entire staff is helpful and professional.

Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and nice! Dr Yannopoulos and his assistant were very helpful and made it very easy to understand the problems I was having with my back and perscribed PT to help elevate my pain. Not to mention Dr Y and his assistant have great personalities, they weren't dry and non complacent like I have found a lot of doctors to be. I have been a patient of Dr. Yannopoulos for years and had a visit with him today in his new practice, Hartford Orthopedic Surgeons located in Hartford. I cannot say enough about Dr. Yannopoulos and Hartford Orthopedic Surgeons. Everybody was kind, welcoming and empathetic. I am also delighted that they have opened an urgent care in Manchester which is open every evening until 8 o'clock I will tell all of my family and friends. Dr. Yannopoulos is awesome! Aggressive manor and not helpful. He was very stubborn on a diagnosis after a 2 minute evaluation that turned out completely wrong. I went in for a knee injury, which he said was just small inflamation and did not want to order a mri to confirm findings. He wanted me to physical therapy for 6 weeks with random excersises. I heard a pop when the injury occured and was in severe pain, so i found it hard to believe that this diagnosis was accurate. I went to another knee doctor the next week and he ordered an mri for this injury. It turns out that it was an ACL tear and that if I had gone through the physical therapy he suggested my injury would have became much worse.My advice: stay away from this doctor.
