Dr. Castañeda is an amazing surgeon with extraordinary skills and wonderful bedside manner.

Dr. Castañeda did surgery and left my stomach completely deformed. One of his colleagues told me it was permanent and only plastic surgery would be an option and it wasn’t a good one. Dr. Castañeda laughed at me and said I was fat which I am not but since he left me with a damaged stomach it certainly is deformed now. We will see if I’m censored but these sites are supposed to be to inform and help the public. My regular dr told me I will more than likely have problems as a result of his poor surgery.

Just keep looking for a good Dr this one left my stomach so deformed and has left me with future problems and it is permanent. Do t be his next victim.

Had back surgery and he opened me up for my neurosurgeon. Neurosurgeon did wonderful but when Castaneda closed me up he left my stomach deformed then said I was just fat never checked on me. Will be filling a report to the state.

Dr. Castaneda did a wonderful job laparoscopically repairing my husband's hernia. It was day surgery and the staff at Texas Health Resources (Harris Downtown) was very caring and competent. One of our specialist doctors chose Dr. Castaneda for his own hernia surgery. It has been a number of years since the procedure, and it was very successful.

In 2013 Dr Castaneda did emergency surgery on me. I had a gastric bypass some 30 years ago. The band that was around my stomach was inside partially eaten by my stomach. Castaneda did a reverse gastric sleeve repairing my gastric bypass. I have rested my goal weight now 2015. I wish he had follow up as other doctors have. Umbilical hernia surgery on July 31, 2020. It was conducted using an open technique as it was a smallish hernia. Operation lasted maybe 30 minutes. Pain was very tolerable in the next two days, and effectively gone after that. 10 days later I'm cleared to do most activities, even running (no stair sprints or anything crazy of course). Dr. Castaneda is friendly, funny, and explains things effectively. His staff is great as well. I will readily go to him again if another surgical need arises. Dr. Castaneda has repaired 3 hernias for me over the past 10 years. I am a complicated patient due to many past abdominal surgeries, but he is highly skilled and has taken great care of me. I enjoy his personality as a doctor and trust his decisions. The nursing staff at the hospitals where he has operated on me all rave about him as well, which is the highest praise. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Umbilical hernia surgery, open technique, July 31. Pre-surgery examination went great, surgery went great, recovery is easy. Dr. Castaneda is a cool guy who explains everything very well and is funny to boot. I highly recommend him.

This place appears to be very unorganized, hard to get in contact with a real person, and hard to get real answers from. Jordan seems very down to earth but it appears that her work load is to heavy and although she’s dr. Casteneda assistant she can’t answer any billing questions and it takes weeks for her to schedule surgery on your behalf. On top of that, after surgery no post op instructions are provided leaving you to have to keep calling to try to get a hold of someone who can provide you with the information you need to heal correctly. Dr. Castaneda and his staff are amazing. His staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Castaneda is so kind, patient, has a great sense of humor, and is so easy to talk to. My surgery went well and he answered all of my questions before and after surgery. Excellent experience!

I had my Gallbladder surgery on January 10, 2020 with doctor Antonio Castaneda. I appreciate all his team who were very professional and nice. Everybody at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital was friendly and helpful. With Dr. Castaneda's skills and experience my recovery time after surgery was 3 days. Dr Castaneda did my colon surgery when I had colon cancer did great that was five years ago I would recommend him highly and I would use him again in a heartbeat

Fantastic surgeon, with an excellent bedside manner. Very thorough and quick to address any/all concerns. Not to mention, his staff is amazing! It is very clear that they enjoy what they do in the level of care/attention they give to their patients. You feel as if you are a part of the family here.

Dr Castaneda performed an RNY gastric bypass in me almost 3 years ago. It was done robotically. I have not had any problems in almost 3 years. He made sure my pain was controlled and that I was well educated about what I would go through and explained ever step. His office staff, exp his nurse Jordan, are awesome. If I ever have to have another surgery, I will choose Dr Castaneda if possible. I recommend him to others for their surgical needs. The best doctor DFW and surrounding areas has to offer. He is caring, humble and great bedside manner. I felt that he wasn’t pushy and very honest about risks and complications of the surgery. His staff truly cares and when you say you are having surgery with him the people rave. Literally in the hospital from check in to check out I was told I was being taken care of by the best. So reassuring during a scary time. Would recommend him to anyone. Any bad ratings I would question the real story.

Dr. Castaneda did a hernia surgery on me back in 2014, unfortunately the incision came open and caused MAJOR problems. I developed fistulas, 7 holes in my stomach with 3 ostomy bags collecting my feces. I lived like this for the next 4 years of my life. Dr. Castaneda didn't want to try to help and for that I'm grateful because I wouldn't have found the BEST surgeon out there that FINALLY took care of all my medical needs. I WOULD NOT recommend this doctor for ANYTHING, horrible bedside manner.

I had to wait nearly three weeks for an appointment, but I think that was because of the Christmas/New Years holidays. The office is very nice, and so is the staff. I really like Dr. Castaneda, he has a cheerful demeanor to him and he listened to all my concerns. He was patient with my questions and did not make me feel "stupid." I will be scheduling a gallbladder removal surgery just as soon as my baby is born! Dr C performed my surgery in Dec 2016. I was naturally apprehensive but his staff was reassuring, the "check-in" staff at the hospital prior to reporting was even more assuring! The MOST assurance I received was from the medical and technical staff in the surgery prep area. It was crystal clear that they all had great professional respect for Dr C. The same can be said for the nursing team on the patient floor. After care and followup care has been excellent with my recovery above expectations.

I recommend him to anyone needing his services. Good coordination with staff and patients, friendly. He did my procedure with no problems surfacing later.

I had emergency surgery that was not expected. Dr. Castaneda was awesome and very professional and great bedside manner. I am not hoping for any surgeries in the near future but would definitely use him again.

Dr. Castaneda removed my gallbladder roboticly. No, I didn't love it, meaning having my gallbladder removed. Three events: - Second opinion on operation; Dr. Castaneda explained pros and cons; he gave ME the option on whether or not to have the gallbladder removed and he gave ME the option on open or robotic surgery. Absolutely professional, but also friendly. - The operation; don't know much about it as I was out; was ready to go home one hour after I woke up; no complications, no scars one year after surgery. - Post-op visit; as before, professional and friendly.
