Dr. Anthony T. Machi

Dr Machi is motivated by nothing but greed, and doesn’t care about the most needy. My son needed help and Machi was not even willing to see him/us. He wasn’t even willing to try. He is only willing to see those with a high likelihood of a positive outcome. That certainly makes him look good, but it borders on professional malpractice.

I could not be more pleased with Dr. Machi, He has help me so much. I am feeling so much better. I highly recommend him.

I've been going to Dr. Machi for almost 10 years. He has always been responsive and caring about my condition (Tourette's). The difference from where I started and where I am now is tremendous.

My college age son saw this doctor several years ago for anxiety, depression, and OCD. He was constantly suggesting different medications and by the time it was all said and done, he had to drop a semester of college from being so doped up. He then suggested lithium and that's where we finally parted ways. Way too many trials of different meds that never really fixed the issues. Wouldn't recommend.

I’ve been going to Dr. Anthony T Machi for almost 3 years now, and I am 100% satisfied with him as my psychiatrist due to the continuity of high quality patient care. We started in-person and have since transitioned to telemedicine, and I’m thrilled to say that the level of quality patient care has stayed consistent since our initial appt 3 years ago. His attention to detail, starting from our initial to each & every one of our follow-ups, is unmatched, and I would highly recommend him to others who are ready to address any aspect of their mental health.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Machi today at 5 pm and instantly knew he was a physician that cared about his patients. He spent two hours with me. Also, no physician I’ve ever met as a nurse books new patient evals at 5 pm. He took his time explaining medication he wanted to prescribe including mechanism of action and side effects. With all of that, he made small talk. If you’re looking for a psych MD that thinks outside of the box and treats patients, not textbooks, look no further. Highly recommend this doctor! I was so nervous going into my first appointment but he was so kind, understanding and patient. I felt like I could be honest with him and he really understood what I am going through. He explains everything so well and in layman terms. He’s the best psychiatrist in the area.

I am a work in progress but this Dr. is very very smart. He looks at alternatives to medication a lot. So many issues are genetic and he knows about how the genetics play a part so I am getting my children there as soon as possible . I am very pleased and look forward to continuing to see him and get the help I need.

My family and I have been with Dr. Machi for several years. He takes his time to carefully evaluate each patient and look at the big picture affecting each one of us. He does not rush to write a prescription for the latest & newest medication. Dr.Machi is such a great doctor. He has changed my life. He takes the time to listen and provides a treatment plan based on your needs and adjusts accordingly. Saw him for several years. Stopped seeing him after an extremely traumatic visit with him where he scrutinized my appearance, suggested I go on a number of medications unrelated to the issues I was having, and made me feel like I was worse off than I knew I actually was. Please spare yourself the trauma and seek help elsewhere.

I was a patient of Dr. Machi for about 7 -8 years and have never had physician invest so much attention and compassion towards my concerns. He is very transparent with his opinion and passionate when it comes to educating his patients on the way medication works as well as the reason for other recommendations he has to help achieve your medical goals. He has been nothing short of life changing for myself and my family.

Saw him for several years and only ever really received medication with no intention of getting off of it. But I stopped seeing him after an extremely unprofessional and traumatizing visit with him when I was in need of help. Not to mention he has a history of malpractice.. feel free to do your own research. Would recommend seeking help elsewhere.

Absolutely unbelievable experience. I found out EX was bringing our child to see the Dr and getting medication prescribed without my knowledge or consent. I brought divorce decree (a legal document) showing this cannot happen w/o my consent. First I had to battle the Latina gal at the front who clearly thought she was an attorney a/or a mom/women's advocate. She was looking for a fight the second I walked in to retrieve my child's records. When I finally had words with the Dr., he informed me that he would continue to prescribe medication because the mom has the right to do so regardless he has the legal documentation in his possession that clearly says otherwise. He also implied that he being a doctor, outweighed me being the child’s parent. What?? When I mentioned his participation in violating a legally binding divorce decree and it's prudent that he pays for malpractice insurance, the tune quickly changed. Furthermore, it was clear that they had personal information from my EX because the B*$%tch behind the counter knew things she shouldn't have that could have only come from my EX. Although Dr. Machi and I ended our conversation on a calming note and he agreed to stop prescribing meds for my child, he is quick to diagnose and too quick to prescribe. Unless you are a lazy parent looking for some panacea, this is not the place for you. All you'll get are meds. There's so much more but this gets the general idea conveyed I hope. Dr. Machi worked with my son for a few years. Dr. Machi is knowledgeable, but is very stuck on the idea that medication is the only solution. And I'm sure that this is due to his training...meaning that is all he knows how to do. He was very closed about any other solutions or possibilities or contributing factors. I had my son evaluated by a great functional medicine doctor that highlighted many contributing factors to his mental instability including essential B vitamins he is missing and dietary issues. However, Dr. Machi paid no attention to that and proceeded (along with my ex spouse who has custody) to only increase dosages and add medications. My son is not getting any better and has only gained a lot of weight and shows no signs of improvement emotionally, physically or mentally. And Dr. Machi was very rude and condescending towards me on multiple occasions too. I would absolutely not recommend him as your mental health professional. Choosing a psychiatrist is challenging. Finding the right psychiatrist is even more so. Multiple factors led me to Dr. Machi. That I found myself under his care has been life-changing. I have multiple diagnoses and Dr. Machi has managed my medication deftly, conservatively and effectively for several years. I highly recommend him. His new location is lovely. I have been a patient of Dr. Machi for over 5 years. Unlike other doctors I've had in the past, I believe Dr. Machi has helped me beyond what any other doctor could. He has helped me with difficult/milestone times in my life, and has always been able to help me turn everything around. He helps me want to better understand and continuously educate myself wholly of all of the areas related to my personal conditions. By doing this, it helps me stay diligent, efficient, and happiest in the long run.

Machi is in the business for his patients. He stays up to date on EVERYTHING. He doesn't blindly give you medication (I have so many printouts of info about meds we talk about so I can make an informed decision). He also has a pharmacology cert so he can advise patients on dosages when other meds temporarily come into the mix for illnesses or surgeries.

Had to go through a few psychiatrists. Finally found dr machi who knew exactly what medicine was needed. Thanks to him, we are a better family. Life is short, why have a hard life when a good dr can put everything into perspective .

We gladly make a 160 mi. drive for our adopted sons to be treated. After living several years in residential treatment, our oldest now maintains a job and semi independent living. The other participates in high school as a mainstream student. We tried many behaviorialists and Drs., but Dr. Machi was able to prescribe and fine tune medications that improved their functional and social skills. He is concerned with any side effects ,gives undivided attention during a visit. A 5 star miracle !

I found Dr. Machi while seeking help for a yng. fam. mbr. 2 years ago. Talented & intell. high achiever became self-destruct., irrational, barely functional, & resistant to rational solutions. You may know unfortunately, bafflement & pain of looking on helplessly, while a loved one suffers. Dr. Machi obt. fam. history/input, so important for a clear picture, his approach fosters cooperation & respect, meds. presc./adjust. as needed. Happily, today, the pt is stable, creative, & living his life.

I can not speak highly enough of Dr. Machi and staff. We were lucky enough to find him 6 years ago after struggling for several years with doctors that herd patients through and continuously test different medications of their patients. Dr. Machi has always taken the time to understand our daughter and the dynamics in her life that contribute to her struggles. Now we travel from RGV to Ft Worth for our youngest to see him on a regular basis.

We have been seeing Dr. Machi for 6 yrs and have received excellent care and management of our special needs children. Both children have very complex intellectual and psychiatric issues. He has always taken time to listen to our concerns and thoroughly explains treatment plan and goals. He and his staff are always available and always address our issues either with a same day phone call or an emergent appointment if necessary. Dr. Machi is extremely knowledgeable and a skilled physician.

Almost a year and a half ago my son and I started seeing Dr. Machi. We found him to be very caring, a great listener and was eggar to help us both get better. I have struggled with anxiety and depression since I was 16 and have seen 4 doctors over this time period. Dr. Machi is the ONLY one who has changed my life and now my sons. I trust him not only with my family, but I have recommended him to several of my friends. He works very hard and is always a phone call away.

Dr. Machi manages my teenage son's ADHD, and we couldn't be more happy with the care he has provided. We had seen numerous other physicians prior to seeing Dr. Machi and had terrible experiences with the medical management they provided. Our experience with Dr. Machi has been excellent, from his expertise with the medication management of my son's ADHD to his ability to educate us and address our areas of concern. I would highly recommend Dr. Machi.

Dr. Machi has been instrumental in helping my family. His ability to communicate, educate and equip me to understand ADHD the symptoms and treatment have been key in helping our family.

He prescribed numerous drugs and didn't acknowledge that I was getting worse on them, instead during a crisis call my mother made to him, he said he could give me 500mg of risperdal. He could always give me more meds he said. His ego was unchecked and his compassion, professionalism and knowledge was deficient. It appears loosing a malpractice case brought on by another patient for improperly medicating seems to be a trend of his. I saw him when he was in Milwaukee.

Does not listen to his patients. Ignored everything we told him about our child and tried to diagnose her with a condition that she doesn't have, one that was ruled out by specialists in that very field! Droned on and on about a clinic he used to work in, but never actually listened to us about our child's problems. He mumbles a lot and we couldn't even understand half of what he said. Experience was so bad that it's turned our child against therapists in general. Would not recommend!

Great doctor, works non stop and is always there when you need him. I have had many MD's over the past 20 years and he is by far the best. He knows what he is talking about and what he is doing it. I just started seeing him and I have hope again, which is something I have not had in years. I am still constantly impressed by the hands on manner, but would not change it for the world. As I believe he will be a big part in helping save my life. Wish there were more MD's like him out there.

Dr. Machi is incredibly knowledgeable, and at the same time very kind. He is able to explain things in a way that is understandable. I would recommend him without reservation.
