Would rate zero stars if possible. Piss poor bedside manor. Doctor is not qualified to speak on Trigeminal Neuralgia even though it is listed on her website as a speciality. Could not even name a neurologist in Omaha to refer her to. Left the room and said “we’ll get you the information” and never came back. After that, my mom asked if the doctor would be coming back in and the nurse then said “oh no, she left for the day.” How is it that a patient knows more about a condition that you supposedly specialize in? My mother has suffered for 25 years and all you can do is offer her a 4 week program on how to manage pain? Absolutely ludicrous behavior from a medical professional.

Dr. Rakes knew that I had a vacation coming up and made sure she would take every step to relieve my pain right away. She showed great compassion and had great bed side manner.

I went to Dr Rakes almost over 2 years ago with the onset of debilitating migraines and this abnormal electric shock feeling I kept getting in my head. I was diagnosed with Chronic Severe Migraines and Trigeminal Neuralgia. She worked with me and placed me on meds that completely cleared me of it all. Unfortunately with any pharmaceuticals there are side effects and I wanted to have a baby which was frowned upon while receiving the meds. I weened off and the headaches began again. She worked with me through the entire time. I tried everything I could under the sun and because of insurance there are steps to take to get to the next level of treatment. I was starting to come to terms with that fact I may have to live with migraines the entire time I want to have children which was a horrible feeling. There was days I had to go to the emergency room and they still could not get the headache to go away. They would send me home and let me know they did all they could, prescribe me a sedative and knock me out and cross fingers it worked. Dr Rakes finally got my insurance to approve Botox and I have no words!!!! It was a complete life changer. My migraines have now turned back into normal headaches and I only get many 5 a month instead of over half the month with a constant migraine. My tension in my neck and shoulders are gone and my TMJ has died down. Botox has been the most life changing drug ever given to me. You receive a lot of injections within that 10 minutes however, they do not hurt and results are mind blowing. I would suggest Dr Rakes for any of your pain issues and especially your migraines. One thing to keep in mind though, you have to take steps and try certain medications due to insurance guidelines until they allow stuff like Botox however, be patient and Dr Rakes will guide you through the process. She changed my life. The treatment she found for me is the only thing that has worked after years. Highly recommend!

Dr Rakus, her nurse Mary & the rest of her staff are Top Notch care providers . They have earned my trust & respect do to the help I have received. I highly recommend Dr Rakus & her staff ,

Worst bedside manner. Interrupts you when trying to explain symptoms. Assumed incorrect diagnosis before she even had any information. Will not be going back.

I wish there were zero stars for this lady. She doesn't listen, didn't even do a comprehensive work up on my spouse. His migraines are secondary pain from a neck injury and she dismissed him and said it was from ibuprofen and that's why Botox never worked for him. Had she done a case history she would've known it wasn't. She's rude and the one procedure she did do she shoved a tube so fast up his nose it made him puke and her nurse had to tell her to slow down. Shes lost her compassion. Beware!

I would HIGHLY recommend not seeing this doctor. Went in with chronic pain and she just wanted to dose me up to the point of being a zombie. I asked her what how the medication she wanted to prescribe would help my symptoms, and her response was "We don't know. We have just seen it help with pain". I decided I did not want to get addicted to pills, so I saw another Medical Doctor who found a solution to my problem within 15 minutes. I'm now almost pain free.

One of the worst doctors I've ever seen. Dr. Rakes spent less than 5 minutes with me during a follow up visit. In this short period of time she decided there was nothing she could do for my back issues. She had no advise and absolutely no compassion! I left her office very shocked and extremely upset!
