Dr. Accomando attempted to mislead me regarding available treatment options.

I was “removed” as a patient due to moving appointments due to COVID exposure.. I guess they would prefer me to bing COVID to the office. Also the “office manager” decided to overtake me the whole time and not listen to anything that was said. Very rude and disrespectful Very disappointed that the Dr. Would have such a horrible office manager. Since I really liked having him as my primary care. Absolutely, unbelievable poor experience w this office. By an honest mistake we missed our appt. We profusely apologized to receptionist. Office manager refused to accept our apology and rebook appt. I didn’t realize that there is a person on earth that has never made a mistake. I can’t believe that Dr.Accomando knows this is how his staff treats his patients. I guess I should take it as a blessing in disguise. Certainly wouldn’t want to be part of a practice that treats people so poorly. Absolutely, unbelievable poor experience w this office. Very thorough and thoughtful doc, always goes out of his way to make sure I get providers who will take my Husky insurance!!
No. Due to his office manager. We apologized profusely for missing an appt. It was by mistake that I put it on calendar on the wrong date. She refused to accept our apology and rebook our appt. I can’t believe that if Dr Accomando knew about this that he would not accept our apology. We are only human and it was a genuine mistake.
Never got to meet him. By a complete error on our part of missing our appt. his office manager would not allow us to rebook our appt. We apologized profusely for our mistake. I want to believe that if Dr. Accomando knew of this that he would have allowed us to rebook. If this is who is running his office I wouldnât want to be a part of it.
Extremely unprofessional!!!!! Will never return
My ex-wife used to use this doctor. I went there once when she had gone there for an appointment, this was almost two decades ago now, and I was trying to find out what examination room she was in so I could be with her, and when I asked a nurse at the front desk, she completely ignored me. She was looking at some family pictures or something with somebody, couldn't be bothered. Very rude,, just completely ignored me. So I went down the hall and tried to find the room my ex-wife was in on my own. As soon as I started doing so, all of a sudden this nurse was paying plenty of attention to me, yelling at me for going back there, and I got angry back at her telling her I had asked her for help and she completely ignored me. Then came the interesting part. Some time later, I went back to this doctor's office to be seen there myself for some issue or other, which happened to involve having blood drawn. It just so happened that the same nurse I had this previous altercation with was the one who drawing my blood. I was thinking maybe she wouldn't remember me because of the time that had elapsed, but apparently she did, because she started jabbing me in the arm with the needle multiple times as if she could't find the vein, and after doing this for quite some time, with a little smile on her face, she casually remarked that I must be wondering why she would be having such a hard time finding the vein ans experienced as she was. Indeed. You would have to be pretty naive to believe she was honestly having that much trouble finding the vein; obviously that does happen occasionally in these situations, and has happened once or twice to me when I've had blood drawn. In this case, the sheer number of times she kept jabbing me before even making her little smiling comment in a clearly disingenuous attempt to pass it off as an 'accident' left no room for doubt. She had obviously remembered me from the verbal altercation I had with her on that previous visit with my ex-wife, and this was her moment of revenge, and the she was obviously relishing every moment of it. It was essentially assault with a hypodermic syringe, no doubt about it. Obviously, I was more than a little upset, so I complained to Dr. Accomando, about it, whom I still remember drove a Porsche at that time, and I still remember the contemptuous look he gave me, as if he was aggrieved that I was even bringing the whole thing up. Exactly what he said I don't recall, but the gist of it was that he doubted one of his nurses would do such a thing, and it quite obvious that he wasn't going to do much about it..It was clear that he was just going to protect his staff, regardless of the offense, which in this case went far beyond just some kind of verbal rudeness or minor lapse of professionalism. As mentioned, this happened quite some time ago; I was compelled to leave this review because I was just doing a Google for a physician and came across Dr. Accomando's name and then the whole memory of the experience got stirred up again. . I always felt that a conscientious doctor who had taken the Hippocratic Oath to "do no harm" would have been more than a little concerned about such an incident having been informed of it, but apparently this particular doctor did not. I imagine he would have been more concerned if somebody had put a scratch in the paint job of his Porsche in the Stop & Shop parking lot right next door, but my arm being wantonly punctured by one of his staff members bent on revenge didn't seem particularly concerning to him. In retrospect, I probably should have reported the incident to the East Haven P.D. but I'm sure the nurse would have denied it was intentional, even if I had displayed all the needle marks in my arm. But in retrospect, I wish I had tried anyway. Perhaps this is the best I can do at this point, letting people know how this particular doctor feels about his patients, the same patients who enable him to drive around in a nice, German high performance automobile, which apparently is more important to him than they are. Private information is discussed amongst the staff at the front desk. The issue is...that's in the waiting room. I heard too much in too little time.

Unfriendly staff, and their billing department is a mess.
Accomando and most of his PA staff is knowledgeable and willing to spent time with you. I can't say the same about the receptionists and the medical assistants. You are going to the office because you are not feeling well. So the last thing you want deal with is someones attitude. Also it is hard to get a call back from the office and when you finally get a call its the medical assistant. You don't get to talk to the doctor directly. I was with them for 5 years and finally got frustrated and switched doctors. They made me jump through hoops to get my medical records released to me. I had to pay 65 cents (highest in CT) per page for my hundreds of pages of medical records. I am not sure what good is my medical records to them when I no longer go there. never a problem, wish I started going to him sooner.
Dr. Accomando has been my 85 year old father-in-law's doctor for quite a while. As my father-in-law has aged, he's relied on Dr. Accomando more and more and of course more visits. Dr. Accomando always takes the time to listen and explain what's going on. He also monitors my father-in-laws blood sugar and insulin. I believe the excellent care we've received has kept my favorite guy doing so well for so long.

Doctor was nice, but not too helpful though. Too quick and want to just place you on meds as if it's their GOAL. Front staff is very rude, VERY unprofessional. Very ghetto. Don't go here.
Can not give any credit, which means very BAD. they knew my husband needed diabetes strips but they prescribed " needle" instead of strips for making him another visit of office (co-pay is $40 /once). when this thing was happened, I trusted them, and I tried to make another visit but somehow emergency came up my husband could not make another visit , so I called office let them know that they made wrong prescription and make prescription they refused. I explained them for the emergency but they still refuse. they said that they won't give any prescription until they see him even though they know they gave him WRONG prescription. as a matter of fact they INTENTIONALLY gave us WRONG prescription so, they can make another co- pay and plus. when I look back, they tested unnecessary test for the cost increases. They mentioned about borderline blood test results, in deed they did not check really abnormal blood results until patient asked about. that's how they practice. bottom line is they want make money out of patients' pocket maximum as long as system allowed. ethically, morally absolutely unacceptable. They don't do anything except "Refer" the patient to the expert, then why even be bother to stop by them instead directly visit the real DOCTOR? they are not the medical professionals, they are salesmen in scrubs. do not give them what they want until they uncover their real face. I'm a 65 year old male in genral good health with the ebb and flow of things that come along with getting older. My experiences with Dr. Accomando have been excellent. Dr. A is a thorough, engaging, pragmatic and gifted internist with an office manner that is simultaneously compassionate and reality based. I leave an appointment with Dr. A knowing and understanding the diagnosis, treatment, expectations for how recovery should progress and an open door if / when needed. Dr. A's referrals are to people / professionals he respects and who I've found to be of the same high quality as Dr. A. himself. I highly recommend Dr. Accomando I'm a 65 year old male in genral good health with the ebb and flow of things that come along with getting older. I had the worst experience at this office. I saw the PA named Courtney. I am a very nervous patient and she did nothing to ease my stress. She only talked she did not do an exam and charged me for a DOCTOR visit that was over $200. When the office called me to schedule another appointment I said I would have to wait due to cost and the person on the phone was rude and said that they wouldn't fill my prescriptions unless I came back. I obviously found another office that I am very happy with. I went back to get my records from one visit and they charged me .65 cents per printed page which took the rude receptionist less then a minute to print. Every person I encountered at this office was exceptionally rude, strongly suggest finding a different office! I had the worst experience at this office. I saw the PA named Courtney.
