Compassionate and competent --great doctor.

Dr. Somberg listens carefully, instructs clearly, and takes time to speak about the issue(s) that brought me into the office. This is probably the best medical practice in the Rockland County.

Dr. Somberg has a wonderful bedside manner. He was extremely focused and thorough during my appointment and did not rush me. The front office and x-ray technician were also very courteous and friendly. Dr. Murray is also wonderful and I thank him for recommending his colleague to me.

Was really a great experience.. The Dr. very clearly explained what the problem is .Extremely knowledgeable.. And the Dr. had really a lot of patience .. I would highly recommend Doctor Somberg to everyone when it's needed..

He was very good at diagnosing my problem, explaining it, and prescribing a treatment and resolution, he was personable, listened to my questions and was caring and forthright in his response and my concerns. A good doctor and a good person intent on doing the best for you

Great doctor great staff great nurses really friendly and welcoming!!! Place to go! even if it's not so close to your home you wouldn't regret it. I'm adding after few days to this review, I came to deliver a CD from my MRI and I was so surprised there's a receptionist her name is Daisy I explained it that I can't come up because of my broken foot and she came down to pick it up from me so impressive!!!

My daughter saw Dr Somberg for an ankle injury she obtained in college. His office was efficient and saw us right on time. Dr Somberg himself was very thorough and took his time to explain everything. We did not feel rushed at all, and walked out even talking about what a pleasant experience it was.

As ever, Dr. Somberg took time to give my ankle a good examination and x-rays and I'm happy with the experience.

First time going to this facility. The office is run efficiently and the staff was friendly. The building is modern with plenty of parking. I appreciated being able to register online prior to my appointment so that I wasnt filling out lots of form when I arrived for my appointment. Dr. Somberg is lovely. During the past six months, I had the good fortune of being under the skilled and compassionate care of Dr. Andrew Somberg, for right and left bunion corrective surgeries. (I saw him in April, 2021 as well for a metatarsal fracture, left foot). I found his care to be consistently precise, the entirety of each condition, procedure, coarse of treatment and recovery expectations, explained with patience and in detail, never exaggerated nor minimized. Dr. Somberg’s proficiency in his field is evident in the results achieved, truly the gift of my fully functioning and now normal looking feet; I am ecstatic to be liberated from the inability to wear shoes without significant discomfort and pain. Throughout the course of Dr. Somberg’s care, he was unrushed, focused, caring, careful, comprehensive and most considerate. His bedside manner is reassuring and calming. I could go on, suffice to say I am most appreciative of his capable, experienced and attentive treatment. On this note of appreciation, I consulted with Dr. Somberg as I had been previously treated by Dr. Alan Gotesman of the same practice, for a left distal radius fracture which required ORIF. The care provided by Dr. Gotesman mirrors the consummate care provided by Dr. Andrew Somberg. May we all stay healthy and strong, should one require orthopedic treatment, you can confidently seek the same with these doctors. During the past six months, I had the good fortune of being under the skilled and compassionate care of Dr. Andrew Somberg, for right and left bunion corrective surgeries. (I saw him in April, 2021 as well for a metatarsal fracture in my left foot). I had my ankle rebuilt by another doctor (no longer practicing) years ago after breaking it at work, and the surgery never achieved the desired result, getting me back to work full duty. This was 14 years ago. Since then, I continue to have pain in my foot, pain for days after anytime I walk on uneven surfaces, taking long walks or standing for any length of time. etc. My wife told me I needed to see Dr. Somberg. She works in a local hospital surgical dept and told me HE is the person I need to see. He viewed my Xrays, examined my foot, asked about my original injury and the surgery that was done then. He told me that my ankle has a lot of arthritis in it and that was causing much of my pain. he told me that he wouldn't recommend surgery to my ankle as it hadn't degraded to that point yet, length of recovery, physical therapy etc, but told me that I was a great candidate for a cortisone/marcane injection in my right foot. He told me that I should get ideally several months of pain relief as the cortisone would relieve the inflammation. As I am allergic to ALL non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs , this would be the best and sole option for me. He took time to explain his surgical philosophy, which I will try to paraphrase. Surgeons operate to heal a problem that is best corrected by surgery. Some ankles need surgery, in that case both the surgeons feels he did a good job, and so does the patient. In my case, surgery won't do much good for arthritis or any scar tissue that MAY be there as my ankle is still "stable" . So a surgeon who prefers to operate may himself (or herself) feel better post-op that they did remove some scar tissue, but long term, the patient wouldn't really feel better because the arthritis is still there and surgery at this time really wouldn't stop my pain. I have known many physicians and surgeons in my life (I am retired) , both as a patient and having been career paramedic for 22 years. Frankly I found Dr. Somberg's philosophy, professionalism and expertise to be very refreshing. I see another surgeon in his office for a knee problem (another surgeon recommended by my wife) and I have high confidence in him as well. I cannot say enough positive things about either of these two surgeons. The visit with Dr. Somberg went well, however the receptionists demeanor and customer service was extremely rude and unprofessional. She rudely stated that she did not receive my childs referral, then continued to inform my pcp receptionist that she didn’t receive it too. Long behold, when she took her time, got off the personal call (while at work) and scrolled to the next page the referral was there the whole time. You would think she would have apologize for her negligence, but she didn’t. She just continued checking my daughter in. This experience overshadowed the visit within itself. I received great care as Dr. Somberg repaired my broken femur. He was understanding, he explained carefully how the surgery would work, and he took time to answer all my questions. I found him to be very knowledgeable. The surgery and recovery has gone well under his care and I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Somberg has an amazing "bed-side" manner. He is patient with you, listens to your concerns and genuinely wants to make you better. I have been a patient of his for several years and have brought my family members to see him as well. I have used other orthopedics in the past and have not found one as wonderful as he. Even though his expertise is with the foot, he is well knowledgeable in all other orthopedic areas. Just recently he did a PRP procedure on my heel and while I had one 10 years ago with someone else I knew the high level of pain I should expect. There was almost no pain during the procedure and now 24 hours later, still just about pain free! Highly recommended!!!!

After suffering for years with a reoccurring infection and bone on bone ankle injury Dr. A Max Somberg successfully preformed an ankle fusion which gave me back a virtual pain free walk and so far after a year no sign of reoccurring infections from swelling. I was lucky to find such a GREAT and CONCERNED DOCTOR ! Thank You Dr. Somberg ! Your the BEST !

Dr Somberg was terrific. He did surgery on my husbands ankle and tendons and he healed beautifully. Dr Somberg was extremely patient and understanding. I recommend him highly!!!!

Dr.Somberg operated on my brother.He had 3 plates and 15 screws in his ankle.It was a very complicated surgery.After 9 months my brother was walking as if nothing happened. He is a highly skilled surgeon.Thank you.

There aren't enough words to fully explain what this highly-skilled surgeon did for me. He re-did a foot problem that was not fixed properly by another doctor. It was quite an ordeal; a very complicated surgery to say the least. Dr. Somberg rose to the occasion and exceeded my expectations! He has a wonderful bedside manner and you can tell he truly wants the best for you. Never rushes; always answers and explains in a manner you can understand. Highly recommend!

I appreciated Dr. Somberg's care and interest in my ankle/ achilles tendon getting better. Went to a small emergicare and was misdiagnosed. Wished I would have went to him first.

I wish we would have gone to Dr. Somberg immediately after my husband's injury but I'm grateful that we ended up being referred to him when it came time for surgery. He's an excellent surgeon and has an amazing bed side manner. Each visit we were treated with care and dedication of his time. Never felt rushed. Dr. Somberg is an excellent surgeon and has an amazing bed side manner. My husband's surgery and recovery have been excellent and all thanks to Dr. Somberg. Appointments are never rushed and he's definitely got his patients best interests at heart. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family (or anyone for that matter) in need of foot/ankle repair.

Dr. Somberg performed surgery on my foot last June, 2016, and a follow up surgery this February, 2017. He is an amazing surgeon and so professional in every way.. My foot is healing beautifully under the care of Dr. Somberg. He is quite informative and very confident with his surgical procedures. His ability to walk you through the process is admirable.. I thank Dr. Somberg for his utmost care and feel blessed that he got me through this challenging time.

My son recently fell and broke his leg. Dr. Somberg was really great with my son, making him comfortable and also put my husband and I at ease. This was our first child and this was a new and extremely stressful experience for us. Dr. Somberg was very thorough and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!!!!!

Dr. Somberg treated me over a period of eight months for two broken ankles. He never rushed our appointments, he answered every question, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that he is one of the most respectful doctors I have ever encountered. His expertise is undeniable. I give him my highest recommendation.

Initially I came to the office because I was in an emergency situation and the practice was in network with my insurance. I am so beyond grateful and now would never go to anyone else. He literally is the best doctor and took time to explain everything that was going on with my ankle. I wouldn't trust anyone else.

The best dr! He saved my ankle after a very bad motorcycle accident. I broke my foot in three places and severed a tendon. Dr. Somberg always takes the time to explain my injuries and treatment to the fullest extent. He and the staff are so nice and are always there to help with any of my needs. If you need a Orthopedic, go see dr. Somberg!

He is simply amazing- I almost lost my leg. His expertise and innovative idea and prompt attention to my emergency surgery was extraordinary!!!!
