I had an amazing experience! I had PRK eye surgery. I wish I did it sooner!

Doctor Schwartz is an amazing person and doctor. I came to see him for lasik but with all my concerns and his knowledge he suggested PRK. Doctor Schwartz was patient and atentive to all my questions and concerns including my mom who joined me for her own peace of mind. He is truly something else. Its calming and great to know how much he cares about his patients well being and how important it is for his patient to be comfortable with any procedure. He will patiently answer all your questions no matter how many you may ask ;) He has such a calming and nuturing way. Absolutely great ;) as well as a great team. Dr. Schwartz is one of the most compassionate doctors I've ever seen. He guided me through an extremely stressful issue with my eyes a few years ago, helping me to make sense of what another doctor was advising. He couldn't have been more responsive or empathetic. Everyone in their office is wonderful.

Highly recommend Dr. Schwartz. I met with him multiple times before deciding to get Lasik. I had many questions about PRK, LASIK, and LASEK. I was also worried about my chances of getting side effects like dry eye, hazy vision, and halo effect (his successful history with the procedure assuaged my worries). His assistant Melodie is also very good. She helped me reschedule many appointments and was very flexible when I had a complex payment issue. Excellent Doctor, great staff!

Dr Schwartz was recommended to me from a client and I am extremely happy with him and the entire team at Fifth Ave Eye Associates. After an extremely thorough exam he talked me through the pros and cons of the different surgery options in detail so I felt confident with the decision to do PRK instead of Lasik for my specific needs. Things got hectic on my end but the scheduling coordinator, Melodie, followed up without being pushy and was very responsive when I was ready to schedule. The facility where the surgery was performed was very comfortable and the entire staff did an amazing job of maintaining a relaxing environment. My post-op care has continued to be just as thorough and I couldn't be happier I decided to get the procedure. I'm extremely grateful to have been referred to Dr Schwartz and have already begun recommending him to friends who have been nervous about eye surgery. Excellent experience from office examination through cataract surgery on both eyes. State of the art eye examination in office. Modern, efficient surgical facility; proficient, intelligent, and caring staff at both sites. Knowledgeable doctor with admirable patient interaction. Outcome better than anticipated by me. Lovely location on Fifth Avenue near Metropolitan Museum.

Absolutely outstanding. Not only was my physician, Dr. Andrew Schwartz, thorough and competent, but an ancillary staff with all the very latest equipment for a thorough eye exam. BY far the most thorough and comprehensive eye exam I ever had.

Dr Schwartz is an amazing doctor. He did my PRK operation. Best decision of my life. Doctor Schwartz sat down with me and outline every piece of the procedure. Post op care was amazing. The nurses are amazing. Recognized me on my second visit. Very personable and friendly. The front desk staff is just amazing. From the moment I walked into the spacious, comfortable waiting room on Fifth Avenue overlooking Central Park and Fifth Avenue, I felt I was in good hands. Sprays of fresh flowers added to this good feeling, but then, before I had even filled in my name on the new patient form, I was called to start my exam. That had never happened to me before--usually, it's fill out the form and wait 20 minutes or so.... My eyes are/were truly awful. With my glasses I couldn't see street signs from across the street..... During the Vietnam war, the Army didn't want me because of my eyes. I'd gotten used to reading my computer screen from six inches away. I'd been to another supposedly reputable doctor but felt my bad eyes were getting the bum's rush, that I was being treated in a cursory manner, as if I were just any cataract patient. Dr. Schwartz immediately understood my eyes and showed me all kinds of things I'd never seen or heard about from anyone else. And took the time with me and answered all my questions. As for the surgery itself, it was painless, interesting--all kinds of weird lights--and successful!! For the first time in my life I can see perfectly without glasses--it's an astonishing world out there..... vivid colors, buds on trees, clear distances. I didn't realize friends' eyes were so clear, their faces so sharp. Dr. Schwartz's patient manner is so warm, his concern so real, and again, never a wait. He's a great doctor, and I'm thrilled that he'll be my ophthalmologist from here on... Plus, he's handsome and he can wiggle his ears. I have been a patient of Dr Schwartz' for over 5 years and must say that Dr Schwartz is by far the best eye doctor I have ever had. He is knowledgable, talented and has a wonderful bedside manner. His administrative staff and assistants at Fifth Ave Eye Associates are professional, courteous, and they all really care about their patients. I have had many vision issues addressed throughout the years; eye allergies, prescription changes with glasses and contacts and finally Lasik surgery. I am very particular about my vision and Dr Schwartz has been and continues to be patient and thorough with my vision care. He introduced the idea of Lasik a few years ago and suggested i would be an ideal candidate. I was nervous about the procedure and he and his staff respected my wishes to think about it further and never once did they push me to move forward to make the decision to have Lasik surgery. Two years later I decided I was ready and again Dr Schwartz and his staff were fully supportive of my decision and helped me work the surgery into my demanding work schedule. I had Lasik surgery two days ago and it went very smoothly due to Dr Schwartz and his incredible staff. Dr Schwartz literally walked me through the procedure informing me of what was to come and what was going on the entire time. His staff was patient, kind and gentle with me and my nerves. The outcome was better than I expected and I'm not seeing 20/15 without contacts or glasses. Needless to say I'm thrilled and relieved. I have to THANK Dr Schwartz for his impeccable skills as a surgeon, his brilliance in executing the Lasik procedure perfectly and efficiently and his amazingly supportive staff. This process has reminded me of how precious vision is to human function and I am incredibly grateful for the gift of perfect vision provided to me by Dr Schwartz and his team. Dr Schwartz is someone you can trust to be thorough and skilled with anyone's vision and I highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for an honest, trustworthy and talented eye doctor for routine check ups and/or for Lasik/PRK procedures.
