His expertise as well as her kind and caring bedside manner are all five star. He always makes us feel heard regarding all issues of concern and addresses them clearly and individually. We saw Dr. Andrew McIntosh, MD for one of our younger children with the recommendation from our child’s school. It took a little bit to get an appointment with him due to him being very busy but we were willing to wait as he came with high reviews. He was patient, kind, listened and offered all of his recommendations. He made our child feel comfortable and at ease. We have gone with his recommendations and feel blessed to have found him. The office staff was cheerful, thorough and had great follow up especially for busy parents. Looking forward to the follow up appointment.

I went to this hospital to see a doctor because of my child's tic. It was easy to make an appointment because the nurses were kind, and the doctor consulted at the child's level. The clean interior and friendly staff calmed us down.

Dr McIntosh was conservative, soft spoken and wonderful with my 12 year old son. He was not an alarmist and was super calm and knowledgeable. I appreciative him not ordering unnecessary testing. He took his time with us both. Will follow up. He came highly recommended by two well known doctors in the area.

Finally found the right doctor. A few years ago I was referred to another doctor who incorrectly diagnosed my son. We struggled. Finally tried again and was referred to Dr. McIntosh. Grateful. Appreciate the time and care he took talking to my 15 year old son. Explained in "teen" terms how he would feel differently after starting ADHD medication and why it was important. The doctor also took the time to discuss all the other changes we need to make and a good path forward. Office is professional and returns calls in a timely manner (greatly appreciated). Finally feel like we found the right place to get help and support!

I highly recommend Dr. McIntosh! We were concerned about our daughter’s development and went to see Dr. McIntosh. He was very friendly with her and did a series of activities with her to gage her development. We asked him a million questions and he patiently sat with us and thankfully reassured us that our daughter was fine. He referred us to some places to help her with her socialization abilities and basically told us there was no need to come back. Highly recommend him

For years, we have tried many different approaches with both our sons - OT, vision therapy, play therapy, ABA, one on one tutoring. But, after exhausting all measures, we came to Dr. McIntosh to discuss their different and similar issues pertaining to ADHD. I was pleased by Dr. McIntosh's knowledge, care for both me (as the tired parent) and my boys. He made me feel heard and respected -- he validated everything I had done previous to seeing him. His approach with the boys (individually) shows that he is great with kids and can ask them questions and probe them at their level. He made my kids feel empowered about their brain health. His staff are also amazing. It is worth your time and the drive to see Dr. McIntosh. He really cares about his patients. You don't feel rushed at all. So glad we found him and that my boys are finally on track.

We met with Dr McIntosh this past week to have our 3.5 year old son evaluated for ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). We were unsure what to expect from the appointment, but Dr McIntosh quickly put our minds at ease and immediately got to building rapport with our son. He did a lot of playful interactions with our son all with the intention of observing the typical characteristics of someone with Autism. He was thorough in his assessment checking for eye contact, communication skills, abnormal behaviors, and so on. He listened to our concerns and asked us a variety of questions about our son and family histories. He also did a physical exam of our son looking for other possible areas of concern. From there he shared with us that indeed our son is on the spectrum and provided us with a slew of resources and places to contact for services. Dr McIntosh connects with kids and parents alike to make a devastating diagnosis seem not so overwhelming. All in all, a very positive experience.

Dr.McIntosh is the 3rd neurologist we have been to and will be the last. He is very knowledgeable and honest. The previous neurologist requested brain MRI and EEG. However he did a detailed evaluation for my son and he suggested not to proceed with those tests. He checked all his previous labs and medical history. I appreciate his honesty and the time he provided to give my son the best and accurate diagnosis.

I was looking for a neurologist for my son because he has speech delay . I was referred to Dr McIntosh few weeks ago. I made an appointment staff were very friendly. The day we had an appointment my husband and I were very nervous because my 3 year old son always cries and very unhappy going to the Dr. That day in a minute we walked in to the Dr’s office staff were very friendly and Dr was ready for us. The way he approached to my son and helped us was incredible and outstanding. Dr explain to us steps and what has to be done. His kind wards warmed our hearts. Dr. McIntosh came highly recommended by our pediatrician. I spoke with Judy in the office and she was so helpful and caring in trying to get us scheduled ASAP. I must say she is such a valuable asset as the first point of contact with Dr. McIntosh's office. She was clear and thorough in her communication of office policies and paperwork and provided a very seamless scheduling process. Meeting Dr. McIntosh provided my teenage son and myself with clarity and direction. He listened to my son, he listened to me, and provided clear feedback, directions, and treatment options. He was very gentle and genuine in his demeanor, and that was much appreciated as it can be scary to see a neurologist! My son and I left the office with a plan and some relief, and I look forward to following up with Dr. McIntosh in the future. Worth the drive! We drove from Fullerton to Dr. McIntosh in Laguna Niguel and I'm so glad we did. My child's health means everything to me and of course I would want only the best Pediatric Neurologist treating her. Dr. McIntosh was personable, extremely thorough and so knowledgeable. He asked her lots of questions in order to try to pinpoint her triggers and went over everything he plans to do moving forward, and have her do, to help her alleviate her symptoms and prevent them in the future. After trying to manage my sons ADD with our Pediatrician with little success I was told from a friend about Dr McIntosh. Upon first meeting him both me and my son felt very comfortable, he has a great personality and relates well with both the parent and child. Dr. McIntosh was highly recommended to me by one of my son's classmates mom. We weren't sure if my son was on the autism spectrum and decided to have him evaluated. Dr. McIntosh took his time interviewing me first to have a better understanding of my son's history before taking the time to evaluate my son. He did it in such a way that seemed very natural, that my son had no problem warming up to him quickly and going along with his instructions. I liked Dr. McIntosh's objective and views. Took my son to see Dr. McIntosh and so far we have only seen him once, but it has been a wonderful experience. He is very smart, knowledgeable, and thorough in his assessment. He is seeing my son for ADD and went through and explained everything and made us feel comfortable about starting medication. We had exhausted all the other lifestyle options and were desperate for an answer. So far everything has been great. Would highly recommend this doctor.

My appointment with Dr. McIntosh was beyond excellent! He is very experienced giving promp test results. Chelsea is the EEG technician and she explains every step making you feel secure that you are in good hands. If you are looking for a neurologist Dr. McIntosh is the best and his staff is also highly experienced and friendly!

My daughter had a fainting/seizure and we were unable (after constant calling over two weeks) to get Rady's Hospital to move on the urgent request for an ECG. A doctor's friend recommended Dr. Mcintosh. I called him and he got me in THE NEXT MORNING!! And when we needed another appointment, he offered to come in early (7:30am!) to get us in the next day. He is so kind. And even though he is an hour and fifteen minutes drive away, I would go back to him again, should we have the need. Sincerely!

We have been seeing Dr. McIntosh for six years for our daughter’s absence seizures. Throughout that time, Dr. McIntosh has been both extremely knowledgeable and extremely personable. He has constantly steered us in the right direction with her medicine dosages and life tips. During her appointments, he has been gentle and kind, and she is very comfortable with him. Thanks to Dr. McIntosh’s guidance, our daughter has had no staring seizures for an entire year.

I highly recommend Dr. McIntosh. He gets along well with our son, and on top of that has a way of making us as parents feel at ease. He explains the course of treatment and is open to questions and concerns. When our son was hospitalized, Dr. McIntosh came in frequently to observe and visit him. Dr. Andrew Mcintosh is an amazing pediatric neurologist. My son was diagnosed with Autism and epilepsy at a very young age. He was having "spells" from the first day he was born. Dr. McIntsoh is AMAZING!!...he has helped our family tremendously....he listens, he cares, he doesn't rush. He has given us hope for the future of our child. Joanne & Judy are so warm & welcoming. My family feels SO blessed to have found Dr. McIntosh. My daughter (12) was diagnosed with absence seizures when she was 4. At the time we were out of state and had doctors that put her on medicine that was, in our opinion, much more dangerous than her seizures. Luckily we moved to CA when she was 5 and found Dr. McIntosh. He was the first doctor that worked with us to find a medication and plan that helped our daughter without the terrible life and mood altering side effects. He is the best!!

We met with Dr. McIntosh for an initial consultation for my child to review the issues that he has been having in regards to lack of attention and behavior issues. He was engaging and I did not feel rushed. He took the time to provide a comprehensive evaluation. He provided an initial evaluation in a professional manner and connected very well with my child.

Our entire experience, from booking to office visit, was nothing short of amazing. The time and care shown to us was leaps and bounds above most other doctors. Tremendous time was spent with us with a pleasant and comforting demeanor. The front desk staff was helpful and worked very hard to get us in. We felt like we had a great plan of attack after leaving thanks to the thorough step-by-step plans drawn up by DR. McIntosh. His bedside manner is refreshing, caring and perfect for handling kids.

Dr. McIntosh is AMAZING!!! I was so impressed with how well he was able to connect with my 12 year old and make her feel comfortable. After going over her pre-visit paperwork, he explained to us what was going on with her tics and how he could treat them. He gave her hints about how to handle questions from kids at school, and even role played to make sure she got it. Our family is so grateful to Dr. McIntosh!

Dr. McIntosh is an excellent neurosurgeon. He diagnosed my son's seizure type on the first visit and explained the seizure in detail. He is very friendly and caring. His staff is very friendly and I never had to wait more than a few minutes in the waiting room. I highly recommend this doctor.

Outstanding pediatric neurologist! I have had way too much experience with pediatric neurologists. Not many of those experiences have been positive ones. This is the first time we have been to a neurologist who gets down on my son's level, talks to him and not through him, listens to my son and what he has to say and makes my son feel special, important and normal instead of a kid who has some different neurological issues. His office is warm, friendly, fun for kids and relaxing for parents.

I can't say enough positive things about our experience while visiting Dr. McIntosh's office. We came in as worried parents with lots of questions and concerns. Dr. McIntosh took his time to to view our daughter scans and discuss with us what he was seeing. He was able to explain things in a manner which we were able to understand easily. It's refreshing to have a doctor that will listen to your concerns and encourage questions. I would definitely recommend Dr McIntosh.

My son has been seeing Dr. McIntosh for over 3 years for seizures. From our very first appointment with him, I was totally comfortable. He has always taken time to talk to me about things and never rushed me. He is very knowledgable and I always left our appointments knowing exactly what the plan was. My daughters pediatrician Dr Shannon recommend Dr Macintosh after we found out she was having seizures. Dr Macinstosh was very caring and took his time diagnosing my daughter. He gave us hope and a great plan for the future. A few years later my daughters epilepsy took a turn. After many tests and medication changes Dr Macintosh put his heart and soul into helping my daughter. Dr. Andrew McIntosh came highly recommended to us. I was impressed with the efficiency of the office staff and the thoroughness in which Dr. McIntosh evaluated my son. After evaluating him, he had a plan and set it in motion and he was great at listening. I was also grateful for the receptionist who quickly scheduled my son after hearing about the symptoms he was having. Instead of us having to wait two months, she fit us in the next week.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! My daughter had her first appointment with Dr McIntosh yesterday! Two of her current doctors recommend him, so we made the hour and half drive. I didn't have high hopes...we typically leave a Dr appointment with no answers, no plan and lots of tears. Yesterday was the first time any Dr had given us any hope! Dr McIntosh, was thorough, kind and most importantly had a plan to start helping our daughter! He was not rushed and spent as much time as we needed to
