Dr. McGowen is simply the best. I have a really bad right knee and have suffered with it for years but he really listened to me and offered great advice on treatments. I would totally recommend him to anyone! My husband was a patient of his as well and he loves him! He is very knowledgeable, bedside manner is the best around and he always listen! Dr. McGown is a, by far, the most thoughtful, considerate, respectful, consummate professional, and his bedside manner is above reproach. I’ve never felt more valued as a patient, than when I visit Dr. Gown’s office; and most importantly, he’s very patient and knowledgeable... Luke is great too!!!

Full of lots of energy person. Does like to talk about other things to get your mind off of an injection. Always try to make it a less painful as can. He is good at recalling you and day-to-day actives when you return.

My visit was a waste of time. He explained nothing. He spent very little time with me and the treatment did nothing for my knee pain. I felt I was interferring with his football conversation at the desk.

All he wants is money. I spent $600 on 4 injections and still.having problems. Has an appointment and was call said I had to get my balance under $100 before he would see me. Got balance down to $93 then was told my balance had to be 0 before he would see me.

Went in for what I thought would be a cortisone shot and he explained that my regular orthopedic surgeon suggested jell shots. One a week for 5 weeks. I hate shots but the students that start, I guess the numbing effect, did a good job. Out of 5 shots I only screamed once. One other time I wanted to scream he told me I had to be brave for my 10 year old neice who was there. He tricked me the 1st time, he game me the shot, which I did not feel, and then told me he was giving me the shot but it was just a band-aid. He is nice and all the staff where very helpful. After 2 visits, i’m still unsure of what’s going on with my knee. Initially during my first visit, I was given a referral for pt and harassed to purchase some expensive cream from an out of town pharmacy without even knowing my diagnosis. During my second visit, I was told I needed an MRI, got the MRI and I still got questions. Dr. McGowan didn’t take the time to properly explain my diagnosis and treatment. After literally running him down, I got a scientific explanation which I do not understan

First visit, Dr was on time and very professional. He provided treatment options and was very through during our visit.

Dr McGown has a excellent bedside manner and made my wife very comfortable. She had a list of questions which he patiently listened to and answered. My only complaint is the office is a little dated. That will not stop my wife from seeing someone that she feels comfortable with.

Went in for a 2nd opinion today and felt he was on the same page as I was. I felt I was not ready for surgery and he agreed that we’d explore a lot of options before we had to revert to surgery. I am being treated for osteoarthritis. His bedside manner was awesome; he is funny, listens, explains things, explains questions and makes you feel at ease.

I have been treated by Dr McGown for three years. It’s always nice to have an honest straight forward doctor with a great sense of humor.

I've been seeing Dr. Andrew T. McGown for several years for osteoarthritis first in my right knee, which was finally replaced, now my left knee and my right ankle. He is excellent at listening to the patient, diagnosing the exact situation, communicating his findings, and creating a realistic approach to address the problem that works for the patient. He has an exceptional relationship with his patients, staff, and interns in his office. He even spent 20 minutes cleaning my shoe one day!

I didn't want to even give him one star. As a matter of fact, I called my primary doctor and told her please not to refer any of her other patients there! This is the most disorganized, dysfunctional, un-empathetic and unprofessional practice I've ever had to deal with. I finally had to tell them, of course I had to leave a message on someone's voicemail, that I'd rather take my chances on my own.

He didn't expliain anything and would just say we'll talk & never came back to see what your question was. Just jokes with assistsnts and lives in his own world with no empathy for patient. I regret seeing him and would never recommend to anyone. Awful.
