Dr. Andrea Cathryn Bozoki

A close friend’s family member recently saw Dr. Bozoki after being referred by her PCP for a MRI suggestive of a devastating neurologic diagnosis. Dr. Bozoki did not take time to explain the prognosis (to the patient or her family) and flippantly said “well, it’s basically hospice care from here.” Despite this, she recommended a direct hospital admission for further testing, but stated she did not know how to complete the process. She instead provided the family with the phone number to UNC hospital’s bed control. Unsurprisingly, that phone number is only for providers, and family was unable to receive any additional information or arrange that process themselves. Overall, Dr. Bozoki had a dismissive, callous and hurried bedside manner during this much anticipated first visit to establish care for a patient with a rapidly progressive and fatal diagnosis. Making matters worse, she was ill-equipped to arrange for the direct hospital admission she recommended, leaving the family to deal with a logistical nightmare. If you are seeking an empathetic and competent neurologist, look elsewhere. I had to do a virtual appointment today she did not ask me to do anything for a exam that could be done she was quite rude she had a patient call her private phone and then hung up and used profanity towards the patient saying she should of never called from her personal phone she had nothing of my records or medications on file even called my pharmacy to prove the last doctor from the same office gave my medications to me that I stated I was on I would not recommend her and I will be calling chief of the hospital and Attorney General
