Dr. Amy M Schley

Dr Amy is my daughter current adolescent therapist. I have sat in on numerous parent sessions, she doesn't want to talk about resolving the concerns of my daughters health. She is very unprofessional, as she talks about her personal life outside of the office. Including talking negatively to and about her staff when they are and aren't around. Her tone is rude, brass and without a doubt disrespectful without any regard to how other people see her. Don't bother with making an appointment, you won't get a call back and if you leave a message they will not call you back. Her office is in shambles, especially her billing department. They will not bill insurance when they are supposed to. Have fun keeping track of all of the EOBs attached to all of your visits. For my daughter's care, over $700.00 was not billed to insurance. Called insurance and they gave me the date the claim was submitted, over a year of untimly claims submitted. They will not cover after a year.

Dr amy is helping be with my ADHD and life problems and she has a siamiese cat named wallis and he comforts you! he is the friendliest can and when he wants to leave he jumps on this thing and taps the doornob! he is the friendliest, snuggliest gat ive ever seen! the office is in this old victorian house and its BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!1

I was a patient and she made me feel horrible. I finally started to look for treatment for depression early high school and she made me feel like I was a horrible person. She yells at people and doesn’t help them or care to help them. If you have kids who are struggling especially with opening up about their struggles do not send your child here. She is very rude and never gave me a safe space and shouldn’t be working as a psychologist at all.

Dr. Amy was my son's 2nd opinion with his ADHD diagnosis 5 years ago @ 10 years old. I felt extremely confident given that it was so thorough, including not only a one on one testing in various area of learning but also with getting observed in class during school in addition to the typical questionaire that is done. She is direct and does NOT sugar coat anything which is actually refreshing. She cares about what is best for the child and supports parents by helping them with strategies. The atmosphere is welcoming (especially if you like Cat's) it's cute and eclectic and kid friendly with books/stuffed animals and chocolates are delicious! My son now 15 always looks forward to seeing the beautiful cats that do roam free and sometimes join our sessions because it helps my son relax which is why I think they are more than just her pets, they provide emotional support and we love that. I would recommend her 1000%

HORRIBLE. Very rude. Demands eye contact, won't make it herself. Yells at kids when they don't comply. Lets her cats roam free. Office very cluttered and dusty. Had to bring my other child (pre covid) to an appointment, and she had the audacity to also yell and scold that child. Made the decision to leave her "practice" quick. Not worth it for the kids at all. I'd give ZERO stars, but system will not allow

Dr Amy delivers straight forward care, with reasonable expectations, and provides care based on researched proven methods. Unique background as a prior educator, which is an invaluable resource in guiding parents/patient/educators to meet a child's needs.

Wonderful caring people that are passionate and love what they are doing. They make a great impact on others.

I highly recommend Dr. Amy if your child may fit the criteria ADHD. Her knowledge and help are priceless. I've referred 2 families to her that agree. Evaluation is thorough, we're confident of the diagnosis, were given med and non-med options for treatment, family counseling and support to understand how the ADHD brain works, school evals by her staff, supportive of us as parents NEVER admonishing our actions or feelings, offering tools and support. Look past the quirkiness. Worth It.

We loved Dr. Amy and feel she made a HUGE positive impact on our son. Yes she is direct. Yes she will strictly correct behavior immediately. Kids don't get that so often these days. She has a BIG heart though and truly cares about kids. She's like the strict aunt who may be intimidating. Her behavioral advice and programs are great! My son is now heading off to college and at the time we didn't know if that would be an option. She put us on a great path. Highly recommend !

A very rude woman. Laughed at me when I told her my feelings of concern about medicating my son. Yelled at my son for wanting to touch one of her cats which she lets run around her office. Had a rude encounter with her husband who yelled at me for not parking on the correct side of the house. I was charged over $150 for an appointment that was missed because the incorrect date was written on my appt card.

Dr. Amy is very blunt, which we sometimes need. However, she is more often rude than not. While she requires people to look at her when communicating, she does not engage in eye-contact. There are communication issues between her and either her staff, or between her and other professionals which impact follow-through for her clients.
