Amy B. Heimberger

Dr. Heimberger is the most difficult person that I've ever met, very selfish, cynical and cunning. She always must get what she wants. Profits from science and clinic are the most important things in her life. One of the reasons why she left MD Anderson Cancer Center was very poor communications with the vast majority of faculty members. Besides she is not the best neurosurgeon that you should ask for help. I would strongly advice against going to her clinical or lab office.

During my initial consult at MD Anderson, I suddenly could not speak. In the middle of my first visit, I was sent to the ER to find I had brain metastasis, severely affecting my speech and cognition, and a second brain tumor. Both were hemorrhaging so first I underwent gamma knife radiation with the incredible Dr. McAleer. After going home, my improving speech became much worse, sending me to a local hospital. With the help of Dr. Davies, Dr. Heimberger and her amazing nurse practitioner, Cheryl, they got me back to Houston the next day and ready for removal of that tumor by Dr. Heimberger the following day. She saved my life and the quality of my life is back close to 98% of what I was before this diagnosis. I’m so thankful for her skill and passion for research and for removing that cancerous tumor, found to actually be melanoma! I would not have this life without Dr. Heimberger, Dr. Davies, Dr. McAleer & also Dr. McKean back home. My fear turned to hope. Always go here first!

I first met her in December, 2018 at MD Anderson for headaches and pass out spells. She ordered an MRI immediately and after the results called for a Neurosurgeon. She was concerned and acted promptly. I appreciate her and would recommend her as a doctor to anyone. I have a consult schedule to see her this month to possibly have surgery for necrosis. She doesn't wait until the last minute to schedule surgeries which let me.know she put her patients needs and health 1st.

i i have glioblastoma..have traveled half the world getting second opinions on my condition.meeting dr. heimberger changed all that.i now found a doctor i can fully trust my life too.her knowledge answered all my concerns i can now be sure thank god

This place is great for the tumors and she has done the surgery and recurrence tumor. I will let Dr Heimberger to do anything for the family. I miss you and I love you so don’t forget me. Thank you and thank goodness that I belong to you and nobody else will be.

She was so caring and explained in detail what was happening with my husband. He had metastic melenoma. She continued to care and explain everything to both of us. She never lost focus of the patient and quality of life. My daughter's best friend (in her forties) is now a patient of Dr. H as if today. We couldn't be happier.
