Amery Wirtshafter

The original waiting room was a nightmare in the Mount Sinai Hospital building. So crowded sometimes you couldn’t find a seat. The uptown office they moved to, was like a parking lot strip mall vibe. I was infected during my colonoscopy with him and he had to prescribe antibiotics. I have mixed feelings about him selling the powder ingredients in Viagra in different measurements— I think it’s a conflict of interest. Also, I just think it’s weird. all that being said, I think he is extremely knowledgeable as a urologist. There was always a high demand for him. I felt he wants to “scope” (cystoscopy) everyone, but that’s just my opinion. he does all his urine, kidney ultrasound, and cystoscopes in-house. The last time I saw him at Mount Sinai he had a Russian person substitute. And the last time I saw him, it was in that outdoor strip mall clinic, didn’t feel very professional. Happy to say that I left Florida before Covid, but if I went back I would consider seeing him again.

He’s excellent at what he does. He performed a cystoscopy on me and I hardly felt any discomfort.

Starting with the good, the office is very clean and well kept. The front desk receptionist was very nice and accommodating. Dr. Wirtshafter had a nice demeanor and started the visit by saying, "how can I make you perfect?" which I thought was nice. Thereafter, he didn't seem to take much interest in my symptoms. My urine analysis came back perfect so he brushed the rest off. Seemed very much like he wanted to make sure there was no infection (which wasn't even a concern of mine) and then get out and on to the next patient at break-neck speed. Caring professional doctors doctor

this man should not be practising medicine he missed diagnost me and scheduled me for unnecessary surgery when I got a second opinion that dr. could not believe his diagnoses he said I had an enlarged prostate that needed surgery he was completely wrong just doing it for the money I wouldn't send any one to this poor excuse for a dr.

I go to see him twice a year which is always easy and the staff is very helpful and courteous service. He answers questions and is very knowledgeable with his replys.

Excelente I’m so glad I was able to meet the wordeful person you don’t see a doctor that care as much anymore he gave me his full attention even though he had about 50 patients waiting ,I strongly recommend him .

great staff and Dr Wirtshafter was very helpful and patient when it came to my condition explained well also my surgery went very well I can highly recommend him post op he was very supportive

Dr. Wirthshafter has been my Urologist for many years. Whenever I was treated by him it was with great professionalism and care. I always felt I was in good hands and usually left with a smile. I would not consider changing Urologists.

Ten years ago my psa went up a small amount and my primary doctor said it was not an issue. Just to be on the safe side I went to Dr Wirtshafter and he suggested a biopsy which turned out to be positive, I had radical prostate cancer. If it were not for Dr Wirtshafter I may not be alive today. He and his staff were very kind and most helpful. I can not recommend him and his team highly enough. Dr. Wirtshafter has been my urologist for many years and has performed several procedures on me. He is by far the most compassionate, qualified and thorough doctor I have been to. He even called me at home to follow up on how I was doing. Most doctors in this day and age don't do that. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing the services of a urologist. Four years ago through neglect and denial my husband experienced a very serious urinary tract infection resulting in deadly sepsis. Dr. Wirtshafter's quick response and medical attention was very instrumental in saving his life. To this day he continues to show professional care and sincere interest in my husband's continued good health for which we are forever greatful!

A Doctors Doctor Amazing office Spectacular Staff Dr Wirthshafter is one of the best diagnositicians and most qualified Docs in this field in SouthFlorida... Great sense of humor but even a greater sense of purpose...

I make an appointment for twice a year which is always easy and the staff is very helpful. Then I see the Dr. and he's very knowledgeable to all my questions and very easy to talk to, highly recommended

This Dr is very skilled and good at what he does, he performed surgery on my husband successfully and is highly regarded at his hospital so I will give him that. However, we will not be using him as our doctor again- only cares about money money money!! He wants $250 for meds that we got for $90 at a pharmacy when we got a script from another doctor. Will not write prescriptions so you have to pay top $$$ to get them thru his office!! We had to pay for surgery out of pocket a ridiculous amount of money. He is a money-grubbing ass who cares more about being rich than his patients and on top of that he is creepy as hell and needs a sexual harrassment course. Dr. Wirtshafter is the best in town. My fiance and I we're having a difficult time conceiving. Dr. Wirtshafter, Completed a full examination on my fiancé and came to conclusion he will need surgery for Variocele. The Dr. ensure us he will try his best to help. His staff and his physician assistant was an awesome help as well. Fast forward, my fiancé had the surgery and 6 month later, I was pregnant. I couldn't thank him enough for what he had done. He's a goniff who runs a money-grubbing, impersonal, patient = $, medical factory. Forget spending 24 hours fasting, flushing, taking antibiotics and prepping for an exam. You just may be told on arrival, "Oops. We didn't get your referral in time. We're not sure when we'll get paid by your insurer, so take a hike!"

Dr. Wirtshafter was running about one hour & half late. He had poor physical boundaries and was extremely inappropriate with sexual reference comments and even had the audacity to touch my face. i do not recommend his practice and services. He needs a sexual harrassment refreshment course.
