About Alon Yosefian Avidan
Reviews for Alon Yosefian Avidan
Dr. Avidan's office told me that in order to see him, I would need to schedule an appointment with sleep pulmonary specialist first. I made a generic Zoom appointment, with pulmonary with no treatment plan, and the pulmonary doctor went out on personal leave. So after waiting 1 year to see him, the day before my appointment, they canceled my appointment- they said that SINCE I had seen "several sleep specialists," (a bold faced lie), I was not eligible for an appointment! I followed instructions to see another doctor first, but then was penalized and canceled for seeing the other doctor, and was told to go ahead and continue my "treatment plan, and continue under the other doctor's care," even though I was not under anyone else's care. I am furious that he controls every aspect of Ucla sleep neurology, as he won't even allow me to see his fellows! Total centralized power and abuse of authority!
Since we didn’t catch Dr. Avidan’s name during our teleconference with him in October 2021, my husband and I have referred to him as Dr. Rude which best describes his attitude and behavior. When one becomes part of a study program at UCLA, one would hope that every medical person that has contact with a patient would conduct themselves in a courteous, professional manner. Unfortunately, that was not the case with Dr. Avidan. Since he refused to make any effort to solve a problem we were having getting a replacement CPAP machine for the one that was recalled, the one that was ordered by a UCLA doctor, the same doctor that ordered the sleep study to begin with, we have been forced to find help outside of UCLA where doctors actually treat patients rather than collect data. Unfortunately, time spent being tested multiple times both in person and via teleconferences was time wasted…over a year without any constructive help. My husband is 82 years old….he can’t have that time back.
He is a great doctor. My husband Nasser Abolssedgh is his patient. We never want to not seeing him. Hope to seeing him soon. Sincerely yours Nehzat Bohlouli Nasser's wife
Dr. Avid an is very friendly and is attentive to my concerns. He collaborates with fellows during our visits, so two doctors at once which is pretty cool! He is very knowledgeable about sleep disorders and does his research. Very good bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone hands down.
I am a physician in the neurosciences with a neurological sleep condition who has tried to see this physician. The process is unprofessional and unresponsive. I will not be seeing this physician and certainly will NEVER refer any patients to him or his group.

I waited weeks just to have him look at my referral. Office staff couldn't communicate accurate info. He diagnosed me w at least 3 diff things before/during visit. He never looked at my history. He didn't fully answer any of my questions. He clearly didn't think my case was worth taking, pawned it off onto his resident. If he wasn't going to put the effort into actually helping me, DON'T TAKE THE CASE! I was horrified by his conduct during the appt. (And I teach medical ethics.)
I haven't even been able to see Dr. Avidan thanks to UCLA's bureaucracy. I've been trying for a month to figure out what I need to do to get a sleep study scheduled, to no avail. I've had two doctors send in referrals (one of which UCLA claims to have not received), and I've just been given a runaround, being told different things almost every time I call. They don't call back when they say they will, and they aren't even themselves aware of what needs to be done to get a sleep consultation and then a sleep clinic. They're also fragmented, since the sleep consultation center is separate from the sleep clinic (so idiot 1 never knows what idiot 2 is doing or saying). I should have scheduled with a private practice in the first place. UCLA has been a complete waste of time.

The doctor was curious, warm and provided a very informative plan. I have no complaints.
I had really hoped to see Dr. Avidan regarding my sleep issues. Unfortunately I could not make it through the bureaucracy and disorganization of the office staff at the UCLA Sleep Disorders Center. 4 weeks after sending them my medical records and I still can't even get someone to review my records and schedule an appointment. Pretty upsetting when thats 4 weeks of not sleeping.
