Dr. Alisa Benson Modena

We had to visit Dr.Modena (not by choice) for a GD counseling post 'growth' ultrasound. This visit felt nothing like counseling as Dr did not provide any information we needed to know and shows no empathy towards our questions, instead was extremely passive aggressive may be because she thinks Browns have less education and grasping abilities. Made us feel like we came out with nothing clarified. Provider did not clarify with a straight answer to our concerns and sounded very passive aggressive as if we were a charity case (in fact our plan paid over $700 for her one visit). Also based on Dr.Modena's demeanor and phrases used, seems like Dr Modena lives under the impression that Asian/Brown are financially poor and illiterate. When we mentioned that Rice is part of our everyday routine since our childhood, She said and I quote "I understand that it is cheap and easily available, but you should stop eating rice". Now i leave it up to you whether you would feel offended if she said this about your native food. Destroyed my impression on Health care professionals.

It was mostly procedural conversation and made us feel like we came out with nothing clarified. Dr did not clarify with a straight answer to our concerns and sounded very passive aggressive as we were a charity case (we are paid customers to their business). I am not sure why we were not provided with options before directing us to this provider.

Read these reviews prior and I can say I’m shocked. I honestly think they’re speaking of a different person. Dr Modena was kind and thorough. Very happy to have received a consult from her.

This doctor expressed herself in a way that shows that she got into medical field for monetary reason. She has no compassion, was not professional. She lacks both mannerism and interpersonal skill. To top it off, she was not able to provide any new information (all she said can pretty much be found from the web). She is there to cash in your hard earn money and insurance money.
