Dr. Ali Aamer Habib

Should be no Stars. Absolute Arrogant ass Dr , thinks he knows everything but is just outright wrong and gaslights you. Yelled at me during a neurology exam because apparently I wasn't trying enough for him. Typical medical gaslighting. Do NOT see this Dr if you have myasthenia gravis. DO NOT DO IT. He should be removed from the MGFA website.

Visited Dr. Habib with excruciating mid back stiffness n pain. He and his team conducted the correct MRIs and blood tests to understand what was wrong. He has referred me to the right specialist for next steps in diagnosis and treatment.

I'm sure Dr. Habib is a good doctor for some people, but all I got when I visited was arrogance and ego. He pushed back on every idea I had, seemingly because he didn't think of it first. Several times he directly contradicted the literature put out by the MG Foundation (which ironically he's been a speaker for.) He was dismissive, arrogant, and thought he was infallible. I get it, he's a neurologist, and a very highly regarded one, but I think part of the job is to listen to your patients, especially when dealing with something as unique as myasthenia gravis. At one point he told me not to get standard blood tests done that another neurologist (who suspected I had MG) had ordered. His reasoning was, 'false positives,' and when I pressed him on what he suspected it was, he hemmed and hawed and then said, 'uhh i guess MG.' Then we got his official notes in the mail and it said, 'advised patient that they most likely dont have MG.' Ugh.

He is fantastic. I’ve been an undiagnosed for years, thrown into an abyss of specialist who could not figure out what was wrong. Doctors have ignored me, passed me on to other doctors. Dr. Habib listened to me, and explored every avenue until finally began to see a picture. He is unbelievably thorough, respectful and attentive. My experience with him and colleagues at UCI has been great. I was treated with dignity and empathy. After years of being brushed aside because doctors couldn’t answer the why, it was elating to be heard and considered valuable. UCLA failed, Cedar Sinai failed, and Cleveland Clinic failed. Pretty shocking, really. Thank you Dr. Habib.

My son took me in to see Dr Habib a few years ago. I was using a wheelchair because I couldn't walk the distance from the parking lot to the office. The Dr was very rude and condescending. My son couldn't believe how he was treating me. I even cried at one point and I don't cry easily. He told me he could give me an EMG but he already knew it would be normal. I asked about the fact I had no vibration sense in my feet. He said that could be neuropathy but he knew I didn't have that. Needless to say, I didn't want want him to do any testing on me so I went to another Dr. The EMG was not normal and I was diagnosed with Peripheral Polyneuropathy. I will never forget my experience with Dr Habib as it was very traumatizing at a time I desperately needed help. As other reviewers have said, I would love to sue the pants off him.

I have fasciculations and other neurological issues. Dr Habib knew I was downtrodden and did his best to calm me. I was coming from Puerto Rico and he was very helpful. His staff was great. His assisting doctor was pregnant and still did the strength test. That amazed me being as far along in her pregnancy as she was. I’m a big 6’3 250 guy. She was holding and pushing. Just wow! I hope she had a beautiful healthy child. I have only good things to say about both doctors and their colleagues. Dr Habib was straight to the point and still managed to make me smile. In a stressful situation (for me) he showed calm, reason and could still tell I needed a subtle laugh. Good guy! Thank you again from Anthony

I had an appointment with Dr. Habib to discuss muscle twitches. Dr. Habib was very understanding and totally understood my issues. Dr. Habib was very knowledgeable and empathetic to my situation. The consultation went very well and I really appreciated all of his help.

I had good experience with Dr Habib - He listened carefully to what I told him and he did a thorough exam. He offered me reassurance and an alternative plan for dealing with my painful symptoms.

I met Dr Habib in Tacoma as the neurologist caring for a friend in ICU. He was our favorite. The day he said he was leaving Tacoma we all cried. As a nurse myself, I hold medical staff to high standards. Today, my dad met him as he is suffering many health issues. My dad is not known for taking directive by anyone. He spent 1 hour with us with explanation and exam. My dad left a happy man, pleased and perhaps more compliant. He accomplished in 1 hr what the rest of us have failed in a life time.

I have a neurological condition he could have easily diagnosed, if the guy could stop cutting me off. His physical was poor, spent barely enough time with me, told me I was fine and sent me home with anxiety meds. The guy is ball-sey and a terrible Doctor, I should sue. Terribly rude, and would not listen to me!!!! incredibly disapointed that Swedish would hire this guy.

I went in very unwell, in a massive amount of pain, and he did not have any courtesy. did not try to listen to my symptoms. did not find my stage III Wilson's disease, which may have shown in the physical, but very clearly shown in an mri, which he did not order. he did not follow up to tell me how my spinal mri was. doctors like this are the reason my life was a living hell. with stage III, lucky to be alive. the doctor who diagnosed me actually did research and ran APPROPRIATE tests.

He didn't seem to approve of our preference of a more natural approach to medicine, and was insulting about it.

I liked Dr. Habib because he seemed to care about whatever situation I was in, and he really listened. He also spends as much time with you as you need at your appointments. YES, I would choose Dr. Habib again. He is a wonderful doctor!
