Alexandra Golby

My father was referred to Dr Golby by the Boston Memory Center and our experience so far has been excellent. The Practice Manager is super efficient, friendly, and responsive and went above and beyond in so many instances to assist my father. Dr Golby made a clear and definitive treatment recommendation and explained the treatment completely and concisely. We are very grateful to the Practice Manager, Dr Golby and other staff we have encountered at this practice.

In 1997, while Chief Resident in the Stanford Neurosurgery program (I believe that was the program's title), Dr. Golby performed amazing cranial surgery upon me for two concurrent cranial nerve disorders, glossopharyngeal and trigeminal neuralgias, saving my life. Prior to the surgery the pain from those two disorders was so severe I had considered ending my life. The surgery required was more lengthy than expected, as there were complications not evident on the MRIs. Dr. Golby - a resident - successfully completed the surgery, which ended the pain and any need for the Tegretol that reduced my pain, but affected my memory. She is an incredible surgeon and a fine person as well. If you read this, Dr. Golby, know that the resident you mentored in the program, Dr. Carter Beck, is my current neurosurgeon here in Montana, for my spinal issues (L2-S1 PLIFs). He has become an excellent - and compassionate - surgeon. Small world, isn't it?

Outstanding talented surgeon that exceeds expectations every day. Dr. Golby was my wife's savior! Dr. Golby's responsiveness with taking the time post operative to answer all my questions in a COVID environment that restricted me from being able to be by my wife's side is second to none! Additionally, her bedside manor is outstanding!

Over about a month We saw several doctors, relating to our situation but we felt that Dr. Golby was the best fit for us. She was extremely methodical in her approach - describing and explaining the situation, the process and methods to remove the tumor, the process for radiation after the surgery, and the possible negatives - meaning that there are no guarantees, and that there could be the downside of a short term life expectancy. So the facts were not sugar coated. However, this was all communicated in a caring way - which made it tolerable. She and her team were always available for questions and still are. We have come to enjoy them immensely and look forward to see them. They (the team) have been very encouraging throughout the process. One of the values that caught my attention right away is that it is their philosophy to be outdoors, walk as much as you can, to help with your healing. Since I enjoy being outdoors anyway, this was a perfect match. The team consisted of Dr. Golby, Dr. Bastos, Dr. Gupta, Nurse Practicioner Mondella, as well as the care nurses during my hospital stay. Excellence. Amazing. Compassionate. I could keep going. Dr. Alexandra Golby is a godsend. 3 weeks ago today, my husband Chris had a brain tumor (4 cm ogliodendro-glioma) retraction from the right parietal lobe in the state-of-the-art Advanced Multimodality Image Guided Operating (AMIGO) suite. To say this was a successful extraction on 3/2/21 is putting it mildly. Chris and I are still in awe to experience excellence up close. We can’t thank Dr. Golby, Dhiego, Marybeth, Anna and all involved pre and post surgery. No detail was missed. God bless you Dr. Golby and this fabulous, outstanding surgical team. Alex- you are truly a special person and a master at your craft. Thank you for all that you do for science, being a teacher to many (gives us great faith for the future neurosurgeons coming out of Harvard), coupled with your excellent hands & compassion for your patients. Cold and dismissive. Has a poor bedside manner and is impatient with detailed questions.

I found her to be caring and compassionate. She explained my procedure to me in a way that I could understand, and filled me in on my options. She did a great job on my brain surgery and removed my entire tumor.

3years later I am still on my feet thanks to Dr Golby and her staff. I am forever great full. Dr Golbys passion is her profession Dr Golby even took the extra time to call and check on me days after surgery to make sure I was resting then very appreciated sternly told me to leave work and rest which I did. I have had three surgeries with the exceptional physician. She is the top in her field and a compassionate care giver. Highly recommend to anyone.

I knew I made the right decision going to Dr Golby upon the first office visit. She made me at ease explaining my very rare condition and my options. I asked for a week to make my decision over risky surgery and she and her whole staff were truly professional. I had the surgery and the quality of my life improved, Dr Golby bedside manner gave my family comfort during my recovery

It is not possible to find enough words for Dr. Golby, except extraordinary medical skills, honesty, and bedside manner a gift, especially when your concerns are not small...she clarifies all with you and with brain/neurological surgery she made it easier for decisions made and the results. Gifted doctor.
