Dr. Alexander Ajlouni

I was given the names of 3 doctors in my area that treat pain. I have a appointment with a Surgeon on 4/18/23. I just wanted to find a doctor that was not afraid of the big bad DEA. not possible in this state. Michigan!!!

Been going for two years. I had to transfer out to a more professional facility. Couldn’t take anymore. Staff rude, calls are ignored as if patients are charity cases. How do they think what keeps their lights on and pay their salaries. If these types of issues continues there will soon be no patients. The facility I’m now at, it’s like night and day..they care about their patients and never get ignored, do what is best to help the best way possible. Been six months now and my depression and stress is now normal.

UPDATE: TALK ABOUT WHAT? A REFUND?

Dr and staff are excellent. I see him monthly and he takes great care of me. Because of Medicare it’s a slow process but he does a great job. It’s a shame that his rating is being brought down due to phone calls with staff and not his performance.

I would give zero stars if I could. after calling and making the appointment I asked if my support person who helps me make all medical decisions can come with me and was assured he could. the day before the appointment the message was left on my machine said that I could bring a support person with me after getting to the office the lady was quite rude with me and would not allow my support person in with me after I was told that I could from their message on their machine and the voicemail they left me said I could ended up walking out without even ever being treated and still charged for it. My husband and I have been very pleased with the doctor himself. His staff and protocol is a whole different story .. My husband had an appointment to get his Injection for his back , at McLaren Hospital for Tuesday morning. He contacted the covid virus the weekend before, He called first thing Monday morning to cancel his appointment and reschedule ASAP . He was prompted to leave a message and someone would call him back with in 24 hrs. I called again and left another message to return my call ASAP. Today is Wednesday. Called again and not able to talk to anyone, prompted to leave a message. AGAIN !! In the mean time my husband is still in pain . And waiting for another appointment for his injection. Had a wonderful visit to Dr. Ajlouni - he was very knowledgeable and had a deep understanding of how to best treat my condition. I feel so much better.

Advises only will use injections, which are not fda approved. Or suboxone. Nothing else. How can you call your self a pain management dr. Medicaid dr who goes against the hipocratic oath, to avoid government interference in his license. I think McLaren needs to really reevaluate this pain dr!

I was referred to him by Dr Cucchi. He gave me one injection for my neck pain and told me to follow up in few months. I saw him months later and he thought he had just giving me the injection few weeks ago. I told him it should be in my medical file that I received the injection few months ago and the pain is persistent. He recommended a 2nd injection. Referred me to his nurse to make an apt. She said she needs to preauthorize and she'll call me back to make the apt. Never called back. My condition got worse and I ended up at the ER. I called the office and the lady had few bad attitude on the phone. Her name was Lori. She said she's been busy with patients and hadn't had time to call. I told her the office does a terrible job following up with patients and that I am looking into going to another pain management center but would like to leave a message for the Dr. She's said that's fine, you can go where ever you want and disconnected the call. I called back and she wouldn't answer the phone. I left a message that I will publicize this experience. Few minutes later she called and left me a message saying that it was not in your file that you needed a 2nd shot and that I had told the Dr I was feeling better when I saw him last ???????? Never going back. Shame is all I can say. How ironic these people hold the title, 'pain management'. They are creating pain more than managing it. I was referred to him by Dr Cucchi. The best pain management doctors I've ever been to you have a lot of pain in your back down your leg I recommend seeing this doctor

His attitude was disinterested; very unhelpful . After reviewing my mri his comment was”oh, you’re riddled with arthritis-“ and this was my third visit., and he appeared virtually indifferent. He had been highly recommended to me , but I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone . Checking out a new doc next week.

Knowledgeable, understanding. Ajlouni has been my pain management dr for 6 years. I have degenerative disc disease caused by a auto accident. He has helped me survive. He can be a bit methodical, but science especially neuro, should never be rushed. I’ve seen many others that treated me like a number in their books. Give this dr a good chance and he will help. His staff is compassionate and always helpful. The only place i’ve gone that has given me options and hope.

Was referred by surgeon after hip surgery. No exam was given, no records were looked at, and he was extremely rude. He told me he was a back doctor!? I wondered why I was even there, I drove 2 hours to go to him, my hip was throbbing, traffic was terrible and I had to wait in his off for 2 1/2 he’s to be seen.

Excellent care , and compasion

Excellent doctor and great personality. Dr. Ajlouni performed a discectomy on my L5-S1 and I had noticeable improvement two days following the procedure. I did have complications a couple weeks following the surgery (which I had caused) and when he was contacted, he came to see me in the hospital and performed my epidural injection. I highly recommend this doctor as he is not only professional but he genuinely cares about his patients and their well-being. Excellent doctor and great personality.
