I couldn’t be happier with my experience at Dr. Steinleitner’s office. I started the process 2 years ago. It’s a lengthy process but thanks to him and all of his professional staff they made the process a lot easier. And thanks to all their help I didn’t have to do IVF just the injections and medication and I gave birth to a healthy baby boy last month. I couldn’t be more thankful for everything they did for me. He was a Doctor that spook to me very clear about the outcome of the treatment and everything work so perfect for us that like a said I am expecting my baby.. This dr is a fraud. He keeps wanting more money, he won’t give a straight answer, he forgot to order a medicine so again cost more money, he injured my wife in a sonogram, when you ask for answers or tell him enough is enough that your tired of being hurt misled or your questions being dodged he drops you as a customer and doesn’t even consider your emotions or feelings. My wife and I have been trying for over 5 years and have finally gotten to a financially stable place to pursue fertility options. We called a month ago to set up a consultation with Dr. Steinleitner for today, but it had to be over their Online Portal. We spent weeks fretting and worrying about the consultation, because we've never done anything like it. We would finally get some answers to why it is taking so long to conceive. We were nervous and anxious, but really excited. I had to call back a week ago because I hadn't received instructions on how to set up the Online Portal yet. I found out that they had ALL of our contact information incorrect - even after I had repeated the info thrice to make sure they got it right. Finally they sent us the info, along with forms that needed signed. Both of us work and have school, so we couldn't fill this info out completely before the consultation. According to their office though, it wouldn't be a problem. This morning, we received a call from a Restricted line, which was the first red flag. The man asked for my wife, helped her set up the Online Portal, and confirmed the Appointment for 2PM on the Online Portal. The consultation would go from 2PM to 2:45PM. The office assured us that we could use the portal to speak with the Dr. directly if we had any questions. 2PM hits, and we were awaiting the call on our Portal. By 2:10 we called their office to check and see if we were signing in right. We were redirected to their "answering service" who must've had a bad day, because she threw attitude at my wife as if she had done something wrong. The lady told us the office was closed and that they couldn't get ahold of anyone. We just assumed he would be working from home, so we stayed on the Portal. 2:45 hits, and I'm progressively getting irritated. All of this seems too fishy. We sent messages to the Dr. in the portal, but had no response. The only number we had to call was their answering service, and the number THEY used to reach US was on a restricted line. Finally 3PM hits and I call the answering service back to see if they can ask the Dr. why we were stood up. After a brief angry exchange between the lady and I, The lady replied that the Dr. had "tried to call my wife, but she didn't answer. So now we need to call their office again tomorrow to reschedule." My wife is heartbroken and devastated, because she took vacation for this appointment. We did NOT receive a call from the Doctor. Even if they got the contact information wrong, they still could have messaged us on the portal. We didn't receive a notification in the Portal, and now we have to pay for a missed appointment. Nothing about this Doctor - or his staff - seems trustworthy. I'm legitimately worried that I even sent our medical information to them, as I have no evidence to suggest that this office is even legit. PLEASE read this reviews before you consider this office. I ignored the negative reviews as well, and I even noted that the positive reviews seemed like they were falsely written by the staff. They were way too ecstatic about how "awesome and friendly the staff was" which all the negative reviews contradict. I went against my better judgement, and my wife is now heartbroken because of it. We started going here after realizing we needed more help than a regular OB GYN can give me. Initially we were so excited that we felt like we were finally getting someone to help us. In the 4 months that I was a patient here, we literally never met or even spoke to the Dr. himself which was off putting. My partner was not allowed in during the endometrial scratch procedure, which was the first time we had ever been to this office. The Nurse tried to joke with us about how "sad" he looked when she snapped at him and put out an arm to stop him from coming back with me. They botched my endometrial scratch by not taking enough tissue, held up the jar where I could see it, and tried to distract me by complimenting my eye color which was kind of weird. The office itself is very old feeling, equipment is outdated, and the exam room was crammed with equipment to the point where it felt like i was in a storage area. The sperm sample collection area is in the only restroom. It's an armchair off of the main hallway. . The lack of compassion regarding my partner and then the botched test with little apology made us seek another office. I understand mistakes happen since Nurses and Doctors are people too, but I really did not want to go through that ordeal again and have to waste more time waiting around for results. All in all while the NP was super nice, and the website is a good interface, we just felt like they were very impersonal and not a good fit for us. I had a great experience over all with this office. I am pregnant now with my first child with one round of Ivf. Dr was very clear throughout the process and open for questions, love the fact that i can message the doctor whenever to ask any questions. Only cons I would say is what Iv seen and heard with many fertility clinics. You really have to look out for yourself, offices have many patients, staying on top of your appointments, making sure they have confirmed, making sure you have the medications you need that they have listed, so really not just rely on the office, be your own doctor. I would still highly recommend this dr, the egg retrieval was a smooth surgery, everything went very well throughout my first Ivf cycle! I had a great experience over all with this office. I’ve been going to Dr. Steinleitner’s fertility clinic for the past 2 years and I truly have nothing but good things to say about him and his staff! My husband and I have to drive 3 hours each way for every appointment, and there are certainly other clinics closer to where we live, but we feel it’s totally worth the trek. Right from the first consultation, we knew Dr. Steinleitner was who we wanted to work with on our fertility journey. Everyone who works at his clinic is so kind and makes me feel like a valued patient and not just a number or a dollar sign. Roman, who runs the front desk, has always made me feel especially welcome, greeting me by name when I arrive. My appointments are always on time and I never have to wait too long to see the doctor. More importantly, my questions are always answered promptly when I message the doctor or my cycle coordinator though the patient portal. In person, Dr. Steinleitner is warm and gregarious with a great sense of humor, but he tells it like it is and doesn’t sugarcoat things, which I appreciate. He makes sure we understand both the challenges and the facts behind each procedure, but he is very confident and experienced and I trust him fully to give us the best results possible. He’s also conscious of how expensive this process is and he never pushes for unnecessary expenses. Even the medications are ordered from a low cost pharmacy to save us literally thousands of dollars. IVF is an emotional, expensive, and physically demanding process, so it’s important to go someplace where you feel fully supported. And if you’re on a budget like we are, but still want quality care and a doctor who really does everything he can to make it work, I can’t recommend Dr. Steinleitner enough! Our initial video chat with Dr. Steinleitner, he basically told me that I needed to lose weight and suggested I take inositol. Tested my AMH (low) and other blood tests. We did our first round of IVF, 9 days of shots of Menopur, Zomacton, Clomid & Dexamethasone. My sister (who has done IVF with UCSF), told me repeatedly that it didn't sound right what they were doing to me. They weren't checking my bloodwork or doing ultrasounds as often as she was getting them. I was told that I didn't produce any viable eggs during extraction. We decided to try again with them. I now finished my second IVF with them again and have had worse results, I only did 6 days of shots before they canceled my cycle due to "low response." The only good points would be staff in the Fresno location, that made me feel comfortable and answered my questions for the shots.

Alex Steinleitner,MD Office gave me information that was not correct when I called and made my appointment he had stated that my insurance will cover my first visit .Now my insurance is stating that they should’ve requested a pre-authorization I have called and tried to work with the office and they have not been very helpful . Doc Sets u up fr failure.after a circle of letrozole, he tell us a mini IVF is not advisable we needed to do a more advance one.few minutes later,after walking outta his office,someone else says we re going to do iui how is mini ivf not appropriate but u letting us just take medication n have intercourse? ,and now want us to do iui? got so confused .doesnt tell u everything. Push us back n forth.n we got so uncomfortable. One person saying one thing n another saying another. I'm not a patient, but my daughter was. Actually I've never even posted on any of these blogs, but I feel I have to this time. This is day two after finding out my daughter's baby girl is a miscarriage. This is also the second time we have gone through this. First time it was twin boys. This to me has been the worst experience I've ever gone through. To watch the pain (emotional and physical) that my daughter is going through is heart wrenching.. There is nothing she could have done to make her chances better. She went above and beyond what was required. Through research and speaking with other Doctors, there are certain decisions made by this Doctor that shouldn't have been done or made better choices for my daughter. I've come to believe that he is in it for the money!!!! So if your being rushed into procedure after procedure beware!!! My daughter was even told if she didn't come up with the next lump sum of money they would terminate the rest of her eggs. And if she waited a month longer it would cost more. And we are still trying to figure out were one of her eggs went. They only have explanations for 7 of the 8 eggs she had. Do we trust this Doctor??? ABSOLUTELY NOT....I seriously don't know if anything is true. Did he use her eggs on her or did he use someone else's. Is my son in law really the father of these embryos??? Did they sell the three they said didn't make it..and the one that is missing...were is it???? A BIG WAIST OF MONEY FOR NOTHING BUT HEART ACHE!!!! My first cycle Dr.S and his Fresno office were very professional and on top of everything. However, for my 2nd and 3rd cycle they would not contact me until last minute to do lab work and my meds were also ordered last minute causing me to postpone cycles. His facility in San Luis Obispo where the retrieval’s and transfers are completed is not what you would expect. The lobby is nice, but you get to the back and it’s very basic. It was just an ugly cold room with a surgery table and an old sonogram machine. The anesthesiologist comes in sneezing drinking coffee as she gets your “cocktail” together and the semen sample is collected in a public bathroom outside the main office by the elevators. After all this you then wake up in a dark corner where the Dr is speaking to you while you are still under anesthesia because he doesn’t have time to actually bring in your family member to explain the outcome of your surgery. The worst part of this experience was when I went in for a transfer

The office was horribly organized, the staff never got back to me, I had to continually go into the office to get their attention for test results and to make appointments. I was told it was a child free zone and we were to not bring our 4 yo daughter with us. We couldn't find care and had to bring her to an appointment where we were chastised and treated terribly. Not only were the visits unwelcoming, and the office run horribly, but Dr. Steinleitner told me I was infertile, likely to never conceive and even IVF was not an option for us but was very WRONG! I conceived less than 2 months later, naturally, miscarried due to genetic issues (NOT Progesterone issues like he predicted) then conceived again, naturally, shortly there after with a perfectly healthy pregnancy and baby. After speaking with others, I found out he was not throughout at all and based his theory solely on my AMH and progesterone levels. I honestly would never recommend this experience to anyone!

Run. Get a second opinion. Take our advice and save yourself tens of thousands of dollars and find a different, competent fertility doctor. There are more out there. We had a strange feeling with this guy and we persisted a bit too long before getting wise and a second opinion. In for whatever it takes, right? Turns out he was just taking advantage. Just months after seeing a new doctor we conceived and proceeded to carry a beautiful girl full term. She is 7 months now! Turns out that Steinleitner did not do his homework and there was obstructions and polyps in the way! Just had to remove them ($0 cost to us, insurance covered it). He should have known as he had major trouble with the delicate IVF procedure. Run. Get a second opinion. My experience here was amazing! The whole staff made me feel so comfortable through a nerve racking process.

Dr. Steinleitner was very informative and honest and genuinely care when speaking to me. I would definitely recommend him for any of your infertility needs!

Great service from the beginning. Dr Steinleitner walked us through our options and tradeoffs. His service, staff and processes have been amazing. We had one minor hiccup with getting a treatment processed and he sorted it and rang us personally to keep us informed.

We have absolutely loved our experience with Dr. Steinleitner and his incredibly caring staff. Exploring every possible problem and offering legitimate solutions is a specialty practiced at this office. We are grateful we were referred to this office! Highly recommend it!

Dr. Steinleitner and his staff are AWESOME!! He tells you like it is and is always straight forward with you. They are all compassionate and rooting for you to make your dreams of being a parent a reality and I am happy to say he did that for me and my husband!!! Dr. Alex Steinleitner is such an experienced and knowledgeable doctor! He is very professional and truly cares about his patients. I was fortunate enough to get pregnant my first time with mini IVF treatment because of his knowledge and care for me as a patient. Uneducated and rude staff ! Money is the main goal not creating families. Will do anything to get more money from you including fraudulent bills for services not received. If you want to waste your time and money than Dr. Steinleitner and his incompetent staff are definitely the right choice!

Rude, unreasonably expensive, inefficient, useless. If you want to get a real result, just take a bit off the SLO county. There is more competition and you get qualified help for less money.

Omg, I never ever seen this type of caring doctor before in my life . I was getting fertility treatment from other doctors , but no one could find the cause of my 6 miscarriages . I spent 125,000 on fertility treatment . But dr. Alex got me pregnant and currently I am 30 weeks pregnant with twins . Even all the doctor told me not to get pregnant because you can’t carry babies, but dr. Alex assured me that you will have your babies soon. I trusted on me and I am happy today . Please it’s my humble request to go there for fertility treatment . He is very reasonable . He take you in if he sees a capability in you to get pregnant and will not waste your money . My husband and I have been trying to have a child for 7 years. We have been to several doctors over the course. Dr S was amazing from the start. Very knowledgeable regarding my case and knew right away what treatment I needed to best suite my needs. I am 42 years old, went through my first round of Egg retrevial and he was able to extract 9 eggs! 5 fertilized, 2 has good blastocysts and now we are waiting for the final genetic ananlysis.Dr. S has impressed me through the whole process thus far!

After years of not understanding the underlying reasons behind my irregular cycles, infertility, and recurrent miscarriages, Dr. Steinleitner was able to offer SO much clarity and helpful information. From our first consultation, he was confident in his diagnosis and ability to help my husband and I conceive. I'm so thankful for the thorough lab work he ran. The best part is that my husband and I conceived twin boys the first round of treatment!

After seeing multiple Reproductive endocrinologists with many failed IVF attempts- Dr. S was the only doctor willing to do tests to see what the problem was. He made it his personal problem to fix. He gave us our rainbow baby on his first try.

I have been a patient of Dr Steinleitner's for over 3 years now. He is wonderful at explaining each procedure and why he thinks it is necessary or beneficial. He is always available via his IM system. He is a problem solver and see's each of his patients like a puzzle he needs to figure out and he won't stop until he has done that. He comes with a lot of experience and he will not waste your time or money doing procedures he doesn't think will be effective.

Dr. Steinleitner pleasantly surprised me. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant on our own for 3-4 years before we saw Dr. Steinleitner. I had heard negative things about him, and went in with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was he able to successfully help us get pregnant with an amazing little boy (now 8 weeks) but I felt that he cared about me. You can trust this team of experts with you choices and you checkbook. Dr. S is honest and a realistic with your best interest at heart. He is a chemist genius with a heart of gold! He has carefully selected a team to work in his circle. After being first referred to Stanford, we were disappointed and after dealing with people who didn't answer the phone and didn't remember your name after just leaving the office, we were ready to give up.
