Best doctor ever, down to Earth, love him to death!! Saved my life, not another like him! This man is FAMILY!!!

Takes time to answer questions,goes in to detail of treatment plan friendly easy to talk goes above and beyond with any concerns I have even if not relates to issues on hand highly recommend

Dr. Prok is a breath of fresh air once you get to know him; or rather he - you. This is a very smart, competent, successful surgeon/anesthesiologist who finally succeeded where many had tried before him- and failed. If you are at the end of your hope and rope - give Dr. A. AMAZING and kind. I was initially a little skeptical of a man whose only words to me at first were, "I think you're too optimistic about SCS results!?". Well - guilty as charged and rightfully so. Several neck and spinal surgeries - as well as other palative procedures, had taken away my mobility, my joy and left me with nothing but PAIN and years of Opiod therapy. DR. PROK gave me instant relief. Instant life back - where there was only misery and pain. Love this man. He's a keeper. Don't let the dry sense of humor throw ya. He's halarious and funny. Give the man a chance. You won't be sorry. I love this guy. Amazing DOCTOR.

Plain awful.he put someone close to me through plain hell she is bedridden and can't get out of bed and transported to and from the hospital to see him she was their done a drug test came back great clean ofcorce and prescribed her oxycotton witch insurance won't pay for it .so them he wanted to put her on morphine witch makes her sick .It must have made him mad so now he wants her to come back in again for another drug test.I feel this is not right to leave someone in pain like this this man I heartless and I pray her hurts like hell and they make him take something that makes him Ill this man needs ran out of town and replaced bye someone who cares about people .And I feel one star is to much for this man but that's all this site ofers

I was trying to get after hours help for my mother, who was/is in intense pain. She had been trying to reach him by phone from Thursday until Monday, and he had still not gotten back to her by Monday evening! She was in tears when he finally called her back at 6:00 pm Monday and said, “I HAVE A LIFE, TOO, YOU KNOW!” Exact quote that he admitted to the next day. At her appointment the next day, he told her that there are no emergencies in his office, indicating that her complaint was no big deal. After he read the X-ray an entire week later, he said that it was worse than he thought (more than 3 compression fractures in her lumbar spine had already existed). Dr Prok is excellent and I’m grateful everyday to be in his care.

Dr. Prok was amazing. He listened to my urgent situation and then made it possible for me to as close to pain free (with several herniated discs in my lower back). I was able to take my vacation, captain my friends on our boat, and have a great two weeks in the Florida Keys. Thank you Dr. Prok (and Lisa), I couldn't have made the trip without your treatment!!!!

Went to him about 2 years ago.. Was in terrible pain he took me through hoops before he would even help manage my pain. After almost a year therapy and MRI he tried givi g me pain meds I was uncomfortable with. I told them I was not filling it and he didn't want to fix it so stopped going. Rather be in pain than take a strong medicine n be dead.. Ppl are not lying about his sense of humor either. Asks same questions over n over. My MRI clearly shows I suffer from chronic disease!! He’s a great doctor been going there around 8 years. Has a great office staff that is always polite and if you got something going on they take care of it and always keeps you updated on everything about your treatments.

Went to him twice. First time he said he didnt know how to help me but put a spinal inplant. I said no and i wont ever do that. Second time they called said they wanted me to come in and talk bout what pain med he couldd put me on. I went in and he saif what can i do for u. I said help me with this paon. Mind u it verys day to day. He saidi get tons of referrels here everyday people begging for pain meds. I said welk some people really need them and others dont. He asked me if i walk with a limp i said everyday. He said not sure what o can do for you . And that was it. Wow what a way to treat a patient and bedside manner. He was very understanding and thorough and we tried 5 or 6 medications and therapies until we found what worked. I've never waited more than a half hour in the waiting room and another five minutes in the patient room. He does have a rather dry sense of humor and some people may not appreciate that, but I think he's funny. He is definitely on the patients side. I think he's a wonderful Doctor and the only reason he didn't get five stars is because there's always room for improvement, and no one is perfect. Reading reviews I was skeptical about going to this doctor, but I will say I have been pleased with his care! I went to Marion Pain Clinic and had waited up to 2 hrs to see the doctor there and at Dr. Prok's office it has never been more than 25 min. for my scheduled appointments. He has been kind and understanding. I think some people reviewed him as harsh, because he doesn't freely hand out pain meds and interviews his patients more thoroughly, before writing out prescriptions. Again, I think he is a great doctor and I've never had a problem with the doctor, getting an appointment or waiting to see him. This guy is a very greedy joke. Unless he does all your pain needs(even though surgery not his to do) he will do nothing for pain. He in fact called other drs unscrupulous, because "they do the expensive stuff to line their own pockets, then expect him to help. Nope I won't do it," he says. I would leave NO STARS if possible. My surgeon sent him all kinds of needs for referral for pain, because OSU only does 4 wks pain meds after surgery, and nothing for chronic pain med wise. He said I was OSU's problem, not his. Stay away! wish I would have. But now anyone looking may heed my warning.

I've never felt the need to leave a review on a doctor, but this man has caused me to feel the need to help others reach out to a different pain doctor. First off, I was there for 4 different appointments and I think the quickest I ever got in was roughly one and a half hours after my appointment time, then wait in the room another half hour or more each time. Second, and this is the reason I decided to leave a review, this man treats you like you're either an idiot or a genius, I'm not sure which because his tone comes across as a combo of jokingly sarcastic and annoyed by your presence. First visit "why are you here" "because of my lower back pain and I wanted a second opinion from my first Pain Management doctor" A few more back and forth regarding my condition and my knowledge of my condition and my knowledge of my other doctor's plan to make this pain go away/become more negligible. All that led to "well we don't have any information, so we need you to fill out a form for us to get that information for your records." Next appointment comes along "Ok, you have X, Y, and Z that are problems with your lumbar area, do you understand that?" "Yes sir I do, I'm aware of my diagnosis, I'm more concerned with the path to correct it." "What do you want me to do? What should I do? What would you do if you were me" "I want you to give me your opinion on a treatment plan, you should do your job and treat me or lay out a plan to treat me. If I were you, I would use my training and past experiences with patients with close or the same diagnosis and discuss it with the patient to see if they agree, disagree, or have more questions." He then explained to me some doctor from nowhere around Marion or Ohio for that matter and things he did to study correcting back issues, not once telling me his plan or even his suggestions. Once he was done with that spiel he told me to go out of the room to the receptionist, Bobby Joe (if you could give 0 stars I would, but she alone is 5 stars) and I stood with her to schedule an appointment for another 3 months and he handed me a paper Rx for the pain killers I've been prescribed for the past 10ish years by my family physician and other pain management specialist. Long story short, he is a jerk, treats you poorly, throws narcotic pain killers at you, and shoves you out the door, I will never go back. He's always busy and works til later in the evening. Pain docs are in high demand, so that's to be expected.

I , too had him speak "down" at me. He was snide and his OV was more painful than treatment. He wanted to talk, but did not listen to my concerns & even cut me off as I tried to explain my pain issues. In fact, he cut me off and insulted me. Who is paying whom, here? I would PRESCRIBE that he and other drs. with his god-attitude in Marion (and there are many) to watch the movie - "The Doctor" starring William Hurt. Hopefully it might help him and the pain of his future patients!

Dr Prok has been my pain management Dr for almost 3 years now, he is an amazing Dr. He listens to his patients, offers advice and encourages you to try other methods for pain. He is respectful and diligent.

I was told Dr. Prok was rude/inconsiderate, but I disagree. He has always been concerned, listened and showed great compassion. I'm glad I found such a nice, caring pain doctor in my town. The wait time is fantastic! I've never waited on him more than 15 min. past my appointment time, this being a rarity in most doctor's office. Staff is friendly and responds to call backs quickly. I trust his decisions on medications prescribed. I would recommend Dr. Prok to family and friends in a heartbeat

I felt talked down to. I felt that I was put into a certain group of people that abuse the system with narcotics and social security disability. I felt that he does not care for me as a person, hardly looking me in the eye, not asking about how I have been feeling, not being concerned about my blood pressure that was very much elevated that day, not making any suggestions of alternative care or medications, in and out is all he really wanted to do with me. Walks away when I am still talking.

I had been to so many doctors and he was the first one to say, there is no worry here, we are going to help you. He is very straightforward and is able to put patients at ease.

This Dr try's and let's you know he control your melds,he acts like they care about your pain but they don't,there just ripping Medicade off the legal way,has very,very bad bedside manors doesn't care about your pain at all
