I have only positive things to say about Dr. Alan Munoz! His professionalism, abundant medical knowledge, and compassion for his patients are evident at every visit. Dr. Munoz also performed a complicated surgery on me two months ago and continues to follow up with my case. He found another physician for continued care and personally called me between office visits to keep me informed. I know I am in the best position to address my medical needs having Dr. Alan Munoz as my main physician. I have never gotten this quality of care from any doctor-EVER! Thank you so very much, Dr. Munoz!

Thirty two years ago, Dr. Munoz gave me life back when he treated me for ovarian cancer. Fast forward to 2022, and he was the same Dr I’d experienced before. Top notch, caring, and positive.

Absolute AMAZING SURGEON and DOCTOR. I had my surgery two weeks ago and everything from the surgery to the hospital stay at Medical City Dallas has been AMAZING. Dr. Munoz and his staff have been so patient to answer all my questions and explain everything WHEN I WAS A NERVOUS wreck. Dr. Munoz always takes the time to assure me I am going to be fine and he will be there every step of the way. He has OUTSTANDING bedside manner especially for someone who is new to all of this! Christy IS AWESOME!!!!!! She made me feel so comfortable anytime I am come in the office that everything is going to be fine. We have YOU and will take care of you. Brittney, Stephanie all the office staff (Ms. Paula and Mary). They are ALL so nice and so patient. It truly has been a great experience so far. If I could give a 0 star I would. Dr. Munoz is arrogant and unhelpful. He is defensive when you ask questions. He demanded a cardiac workup and then said he didn’t believe it. The cardiologist he recommended! He refused to do lifesaving surgery because “it is too hard for me”. His own words. He was demeaning and belittling. Now we must look for another opinion, prolonging cancer treatment. Please be careful choosing him. No one should have to go through this when you are afraid and desperate for help. I recommend Dr. Alan Munoz, This was my first time at this hospital, I was very scared and nervous, yet he made my visit very comfortable and amazing. I have an upcoming surgery, therefore when I have any questions or concerns the nurse is very responsive and friendly, amazing team work. I came to Dr Munoz with a referral for a complete hysterectomy due to genetic predisposition to cancer. He listened to my concerns and reviewed the data and advised me of best course of action. Scheduling was done, robotic surgery performed and 2 weeks later healing is well under way. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again and highly recommend him and his facility. I can not thank Dr Munoz for what he’s done for me. I was referred to him by my OBGYN after dealing with intense pain caused by adhesions and ovarian cysts. I’ve had previous surgeries which have caused many adhesions in my abdomen and I’m described as a very difficult case. He decided to take my case on and do the surgery to remove my left ovary so I would be pain free. So this past week he completed the surgery and did a wonderful job. He was able to remove the left ovary without damaging any of my other organs, which I thought couldn’t be done. And now I’m looking forward to living a life with a lot less pain. Dr Munoz is a God send.

Years ago Dr Robbins was my OB/GYN for several years. He took over my care when Dr Kauffman retired. In 2007, while undergoing fertility treatments, Dr. Robbins found a cyst and a tumor on my uterus, which he said had to be removed. I also had several good eggs left on both of my ovaries & I only had small cysts on both of my ovaries. I was devastated because I wanted to have more children. He recommended that I have a hysterectomy and other treatments that I ended up dismissing. And, HE NEVER SUGGESTED EXTRACTING MY EGGS BEFORE THE HYSTERECTOMY and that in my opinion was malpractice, as I could have found a person to carry my embryos. I never pursued any actions against him. Instead, in an effort to save my uterus, I ended up going to a different ob/gyn oncologist Allen Munoz who told me he was going to try to save my reproductive system, and that was a lie. In fact Alan Munoz lied to me on several levels, and he ended up SEVERELY INJURING ME during my surgery by rushing through my surgery and severing my ureter and then, by letting another inexperienced doctor close me up, all because he wanted to leave for the airport on a trip to NY that he told me was not going to happen. HE ALSO NEVER SUGGESTED EXTRACTING MY EGGS BEFORE THE HYSTERECTOMY and NOT EVEN DURING THE SURGERY, when he knew I wanted to save my ovaries unless they were necrotic or had cancer, and that I wanted to have another child. On top of that, to cut time, Munoz tricked me into signing a consent that included a full hysterectomy. I was very emotional at that time and I should have known better to read the consents carefully, but I didn’t. I wrote on them but it wasn’t good enough. Again, he took away my only ability to have another child when he knew I wanted more children and if my uterus had to go, I could have found a person to carry my embryos, or even kept my ovaries because there was nothing wrong with them, but Munoz simply did not care. By severing my ureter and closing me up without repairing it, Alan Munoz MD caused me several years of pain, medical treatments and many years of reoccurring illnesses as a result. He came in my room after my organs started shutting down and they found what happened and said he was sorry. My crappy lawyer sued the wrong doctors and so, I lost my case against him all because I signed a consent waiver saying that he could sever my ureter during this procedure and that was part of this type of surgical complication possibilities. I should’ve listened to Dr. Robbins and had the hysterectomy done with him. I really can’t believe Alan Munoz is still practicing.

I have known and have been treated by this doctor for 25 years. He is thorough, incredibly skilled and honest. I struggle to understand these negative comments.

Dr. Alan Munoz is such an amazing doctor.. he is very caring and comforting. I had to have surgery and he kept ensuring me everything would be okay and sometimes that’s all it takes. I would highly recommend him. His nurse Jennifer is so so helpful & on top of everything as well. You will be in great hands with Dr. Munoz & his staff.

I’ve know Alan Munoz over 17 years. One of the finest physicians and surgeons I have ever know. He loves his patients and they love him. We’ve worked together many times and he is my #1 recommendation without hesitation.

This was a traumatizing visit for my daughter and I. Dr. Munoz was not interested in discussing options with us; Brca2 positive with no family history. He was only interested in surgery and shamed us for thinking otherwise. He was condescending, not interested in listening and made us feel we had wasted his time. Regardless of his standing in the medical community, I would not want him as a person and someone at his advanced age to treat my daughter. Worst doctor visit ever!

His consult said I did not have endometriosis. I had a tumor on my right ovary. For some reason he not only removed my right ovary and the tumor, but the left ovary and my uterus. Wondering if it's more lucrative that way? He also did not like questions and so flipped me back on the table then examined me while I was in terrible pain. This put me in even more pain. After The DaVinci procedure, I was also in pain to the point that my blood pressure was 189 over 100. Nothing was given to me in a proactive manner for this. Then while in recovery, I complained about pain so he ordered a transvaginal ultrasound. It was excruciating. Then for some unknown reason he dismissed me from care. The only thing I can think of is that I had gotten pain medicine from another source and his nurse ratted me out during our last meeting. I would not recommend Mr Munoz.

Very rude.over hour late. Said i was large? When i got on table .he said (That was the most excercise you've had in a while)..sent a letter like i was in prison.ordering me to be in compliance and schedule an ultra sound..Really..I will NEVER go back.!!!

This doctor has mood swings. At one point of time he will be the most wonderful doctor and at another day he will be the rudest and most cruelest of all. I think he is a very skilled surgeon and has lot of knowledge but he really needs to work on how to communicate to patients. He broke a news to me in a way that stole 2 weeks out of my life. He is in a field where feelings are as important as treatment and he fails totally there. My family will never forgive him for that.

From the initial office visit to post-op follow-up visits, Dr. Munoz was extremely thorough at explaining what will happen and provided recommendations and options based on my situation. He was very calming and reassuring, which is what every patient going through this experience needs. His office was also very caring and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Munoz and trust that he provides exceptional care to all of his patients.

We had an appointment with Dr. Munoz 2/22/2018 for our Mother - My Mother - Sister and I were 100 % pleased with the treatment we received from Dr. Munoz and his staff - We left there with many questions answered - and know that moving forward whatever the outcome is we will have wonderful support from all of them- Dr. Munoz took the time to explain every process with us .. asked if we had questions...and was very personable. At the end of our visit we gave hugs and felt at ease. Thank you -

I would not recommend Dr. Munoz if you want to keep your ovaries. He was a very condescending doctor who does not care about keeping your ovaries and does not discuss the risks for surgery. I felt like a number not a patient. I went to another doctor and I kept my ovaries.

Love Dr.Munoz, I was very anxious when I was referred to Him but he made me feel Comfortable and at ease, he answered all my questions and took his time with me. He is very compassionate and caring. He done my hysterectomy and I Couldn't have ask for a better surgeon. He is wonderful and really cares about his patients. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was referred to him by M. D. Anderson in Houston. He is skilled, knowledgeable, and kind and caring. His staff is always available and helpful to answer any questions you have about chemo, and I would recommend him without reservation.

I met Dr Munoz as a second opinion after my initial cancer diagnosis and a horrible experience with a different oncologist. He is a skilled surgeon as well as a kind, caring doctor. I required a radical hysterectomy and when my cancer recurred,he caught it before I noticed any problems on my own. I had additional surgery, radiation and chemotherapy and he orchestrated all of it and handled complications as they arose. I feel he saved my life (twice) and his bed-side manner is unmatched.
