Would not let this man cut in my dog!!!! Was not honest and almost cost me my life. I do not recommend him at all!!!!!!

Dr Appley is by far the best surgeon I have experienced. He listened to my symptoms, discussed my options and answered all my questions. Plus he has great personality and smile.

Dr. Appley has performed all 8 of my spinal surgeries including two separate fusions. I trust this man with my life. He has SUPERIOR office staff that are warm and friendly and always willing to help.

Dr Appley is not a man of many words, but he will sit down and listen to you and answer whatever questions you may have. Awesome Dr. very impressed with the care I received from my surgery.

I was in a car wreck. Broke my L1. He left me with a small incision, that is easily covered. Thought I would be in a lot of pain, since I have heard many horror stories about back surgeries. The horror stories were not about him, let me set the record straight, lol. He is absolutely wonderful. Answers all your questions. He does not rush on anything. Which I loved since, I was so scared. I thought I would not walk right or be in pain the rest of my life. Thank you Jesus for putting Dr. Appley in my life at the right moment. I don't know if I would be writing this about any other Dr., that would have serviced me if he had not been there.

Alan Appley has been my Neurosurgeon for over 18 years and five spinal surgeries. He's been "spot on" with my diagnosis and the best fix everytime. One of the few doctors I trust implicitly.

It has been a nice experience. Dr. Appley and staff are friendly and I felt comfortable discussing my treatment plan. Had surgery 2 months ago and I’m doing very well. I was in an accident and injured c5-6 and c6-7 in my neck in 2012 and in 2015 Dr. Appley went out of his way to take me as a patient and was the only doctor between Houston and New Orleans at that time that could do a 2 level mobi C artificial cervical disc replacement. The surgery went perfect hardly any scares and the recovery time was minimal with hardly any pain. The results have been amazing 4 and a half years later I still feel like I am back to normal. I was 10 times stronger in my left arm instantly. The movement is incredible and so much more than if I would have had a fusion and it greatly reduced the chances of other levels going bad. I also suffered a back injury between L3-S1 three Lumbar levels and he will definitely be my surgeon for that fusion which is the only option I have because of it being 3 levels and a fractured spine at L3-4. He is the best Neurosurgeon around. I Thank God for having Dr. Appley!!!

Inconsiderate to say the least. I called Dr. Appley's office when I was getting no where with Orthopedics. First thing I asked was is the office accepting new patients. After explaining what was going on by request, I was instructed to go to LGMC ER to get images so that they can see how soon I need to be seen. After I did just that, I go to their office to attempt to complete paperwork. All to be told, "we are not taking non-emergency patients". For a doctors office to lie to someone, send them to the ER for nothing and turn them away when they are basically begging for help is awful. Because I was not an emergency in their eyes or because I didn't get hit by a car, I would not be seen, no matter how much pain I explained to them I was in. He explains everything, Love the doctor, surgery had changed my life. I couldn't stand completely straight. I would refer and have referred plenty of people. Had my surgery done in 2009. Only thing I didnt like was that I was out work for a while and I had a bill that wasn't paid before I can go back to work and when I called to ask questions a few months later. They said I didnt pay my bill so they couldn't help me anymore. I even offered to pay it right then on the phone. It was like $500. Insurance covered the rest. Would I go back? YES! In a heart beat. Dr. Appley did my back surgery. He is the only one in the area I would allow to operate on my back if I ever needed another surgery. He came highly recommended by friends who are in the medical profession.

Dr. Appley treated and did surgery for me and was not only an excellent surgeon, but an excellent care provider. He made sure to remain aware of my diabetes and was thorough and attentive to all of my needs and concerns. Great doctor, great staff.

After viewing my MRI, Dr. Appley saw right away that I needed fusion back surgery L4-L5. I had numbness in legs after walking 150 yards, lower back pain and frequent sciatic pain. I had OLIF surgery on Dec. 21 from 4 - 8 pm, I returned to my room at 9.15pm and was walking hall at 12.10 am and was discharged in less than 24 hours. Dr. Appley is very conscientious and concerned about his patients. He took the time to explain and answer any questions. I would trust him in surgery any day.

Excellent surgeon

Terrible service, no regard for suffering.

Dr. Appley and Dr. Mary Menard are very easy to talk to and are very professional in their job. They are also concerned in giving the best possible care to their patients. I would definetly recommend both to anyone looking for a neurosurgeon. I'm really thankful to have them both.
