Doesn’t listen to patients. I tell her one thing and she misconstrues it and doesn’t bother to ask follow up questions. She constantly interrupts me when I’m speaking with her and has gaslighted me. Doesn’t seem to care what my goals for treatment are or take that into account when prescribing medications. Very argumentative and combative. She is also hard to get a hold of via MyChart.

Dr. Dobs is not only a top notch expert in her field, but is personable and patient. She is also conservative when it comes to medication and does not over prescribe.

VERY unpleasant visit. I DO NOT recommend her. I had high hopes for Dr. Dobs because she's listed on the Johns Hopkins Center for Transgender Health webpage. I assumed she would be knowledgeable and respectful about trans-related issues. This was NOT the case. She misgendered me repeatedly, didn't answer my questions, and almost seemed to be trying to persuade me not to pursue hormone treatment. I ended the appointment very upset, and later that day a nurse from her office called me for some reason. I politely said that things didn't work out, and then the nurse reported back to Dr. Dobs. Dr. Dobs then sent me a message via MyChart re-iterating everything she had said during the appointment. I am very disappointed and will be pursuing care in my home city of Pittsburgh PA, because Dr. Dobs appears to be the only person who prescribes hormone therapy for trans people at the Hopkins facilities in Baltimore. And did I mention that her staff told me to fax several important documents to her, but she later said that she doesn't check her fax machine so she didn't get my documents??? Infuriating.

She is a terrible doctor. I had to wait 5 months just to see her. It was ridiculous. She was my last hope at figuring out what was wrong with my hormones. She's pushy and unfriendly. Don't waste your time. She's also argumentative. She didn't seem knowledgeable about anything. My visit ended up with me in tears. So...yeah I don't recommend. Oh and she has me scheduled to she her in another 6 months. No thank you.
