Dr. Adam Bruggeman

The only surgeon I will trust to repair anything that have to do with my spine. Dr. Bruggeman Is who I highly recommend to anyone that need Spinal Fusion, this is week 3 after surgery on my C3 C4 C5 C6 and it hurts now, but after my 6 weeks is up I will feel so good. Thank you Dr. Adam Bruggeman. If anyone needs surgery this doctor is your best bet.

Surgery after the first consult only took 4 months to complete, he completed my surgery in less than an hour which is just incredible, and they helped keep me at ease through my extreme anxiety about having surgery. I will forever be grateful to him and his team for taking such good and thorough care of me. He explained everything well, they’ve been very accommodating with my crazy schedule and preexisting conditions, and overall impressed the hell out of me. I don’t trust ANYONE, but I definitely trust this doctor to keep my best interests at heart.

My quality of life is much better since having back surgery and I will always be extremely grateful to Dr. Bruggerman. Many thanks to Dr. Adam Bruggerman and Dr. Yvonne Paredes for providing me with excellent surgical care and post surgical care.

My experience thus far focuses on the incompetent office staff , hard to connect to actual person in this office. I was told I would need a procedure and to be done within a couple weeks from initial appt.and a scheduler would contact me, no scheduler has contacted me in those two weeks. I left several voicemails and an email to get status of my procedure schedule? Days later still no return call back, my pain Dr. Said procedure very important and should have been done already! So he left detailed text to Dr Bruggerman and still nothing. I have lost valuable time and possibly more damage due to this office not even contacting me after initial appt. most unprofessional Dr’s office I have ever dealt with , if it’s regarding my insurance coverage then at least have the decency to return my call to discuss! I guess I’m on my own to figure next step from here? Maybe just go straight to the ER and let them know what’s going on here

Refused to live up to their word. My fiancé was in a car wreck and was referred by her lawyer to this office. We met with Yvonne back in early April, who told my fiancé that there was “no way she could perform her job” (sitting at a desk at a call center for 8 hours a day) based on her injuries. She assured my fiancé that she would write her out of work until we got xrays back. We went and got the xrays. Came back to this office a month later, and were told that she wasn’t a candidate for surgery. This second visit we met with a different PA. Now the office says they won’t provide my fiancé write out of work for the time they said they would. She didn’t go back to work based on what Yvonne told her (that she shouldn’t), and now is going to be fired on Monday (today is Friday) for failure to provide the paperwork that Yvonne now won’t provide. My fiancé relied on Yvonne’s assessment to not go back to work...and now we find out that Yvonne isn’t good for her word.

I would not reccommend Dr. Bruggeman or his office. I decided that after years of having a herniated disc hitting the scaitic nerve to have surgery in Dec. Not only did his office drop the ball on giving me a back brace prior to surgery, I am in more pain now than i was before. I had micro/lami done in Dec. When I communicated that I was in a lot of pain still, he basically brushed me off and said to see my pain management dr from now on. A most recent MRI shows disc hitting nerve STILL.

My experience with DR Bruggeman was awesome he’s a wonderful man he’s a wonderful doctor I would recommend him over and over again this man will fix you right up he’s the best back doctor ever,sincerely Randy Guerra

I had back surgery on Dec7. Pain in back, back of legs , and intolerable burning of feet had been getting worse since my last military duty between 2009 and 2016. Blunt force trauma, osteo arthritis, pinched nerves were impacting my everyday life and ability to do the things I like and to socialize. Today is Dec 18 and all I can say so far is that this man is short of nothing less than miraculous. I went to two surgeons before selecting Dr Bruggeman. Minimally invasive. Quick!

The experience I had with Dr. Bruggeman was of the worst kind. I went to Dr. Bruggeman to have fusion surgery on my vertebrae. The day of surgery I was told to go in at 12 o'clock noon for 2 o'clock appointment. Dr. Bruggeman never came into my room until 7 PM. When I woke up from the surgery I was told I was a quadriplegic. Before the surgery I was fully functional but with neck pain. I don't know what happened in that surgery room that day but I don't recommend Dr. Bruggeman.

Excellent care, had worst pain of my life. 2 weeks after minimally invasive surgery back at work, 3 months later no pain, 6 months after living life better than before injury. Wonderful staff, excellent mid-level practitioners.

Dr. Bruggeman and his staff were amazing. I was literally in so much pain and could barely walk. They expidited my surgery after review of my MRI. Let’s just say my disc was not in the right place. Ouch!! Immediately after the procedure I experienced no pain! He also let me know that having a minimally invasive procedure was my best option based on age. The other doctor was recommending disc replacement. NO! It’s been three months and I’m already back in the gym. Great experience! Thanks Dr. B

I had a bad experience And had to have a second surgery with a surgeon that knew what he was doing.

If you are seriously considering looking for a Great surgeon look no further. You have found him. Dr Bruggerman is the best. Dr. Bruggeman is an awesome surgeon and has a staff that is second to none, I have had several surgeries with him and it he takes care to explain everything and takes great care of his patients. He has my highest recommendation.

I am honored to be a patient of Dr Bruggeman. He is the most thorough, professional and knowledgeable person I know. He was not quick to do surgery on my back as he believes in exploring all options first. I was not responsive to PT or pain management so Dr B had to perform a laminectomy and implant a spinal chord stimulator in my back. Thanks to his skillful hands, I am able to walk with no pain in my legs. I will be forever grateful. Have referred several friends to him with equal succes

Dr Bruggeman is the most knowledgeable, caring physician I have ever met. He identified the cause of severe, acute pain I was having in my shoulder blade caused by disc problems in my neck. I was impressed that he did not jump into surgery as a solution, but advised other measures. I am so thankful that I am now able to return to my sewing and computer work. Two years ago, just before leaving on a trip, my pain level was above 10. Dr B was immediately accessible provided the care I needed.

I have to say this surgeon is below par and is not patient focused, does not focus on the whole patient and does band-aid surgeries that do not solve the problem prompting repeat surgeries. If having pain and seeking surgical options, I would recommend you keep looking and find a Surgeon who is well trained has more experience and plans to treat the problem and not the symptoms.

Some staff were very nice and others are downright snarky and unpleasant. Confusing and contradictory information given to me repeatedly from Dr. Bruggeman and staff. They all made repeated mistakes. Most importantly, he didn't pay attention to my case and made recommendations that other well respected neurosurgeons said were not warranted based on my case and could have caused me lifelong damage. Don't trust him with your spine.

I have required 2 laminectomies. Dr. Bruggeman has performed both of them and I could not be more satisfied with the result. My experience is that he is a fantastic surgeon and I would not hesitate to go back to him if necessary and would recommend anyone do the same.

Dr. Bruggeman put me back together after one of the best neurologist in San Antonio worked on my neck. This neurologist misplaced a screws that held the hardware in place during a spinal fusion surgery causing a vertebrates to break! I saw Dr. B! Right away he saw the problem. Dr. B corrected the problem by replacing the hardware. Dr. B is more like family now to me. He is very knowledgeable, caring, kind, trusting! Dr.B take all the time you need, no rushing here! God has blessed this Doctor!!

I was turned over to Dr. Bruggeman my previous surgeon was moving. My last back surgery resulted in: 10dys after the cage was slipping several months after left pedicel screws broke several months after right pedicel screws broke too. All he said was it was all good never telling me. To cover himself he suggested a spinal cord stem implant which was done. I am in continuous pain which he told my other doctor that the pain was all in my head. Others drs have had to redo his surgeries. Be careful.

Dr. Bruggeman is accessible, has an excellent bedside manner, and is always well versed on and clear about treatment options. He's a credit to a profession riddled by many who process patients like little more than an item number. Very blessed to be a patient!

Dr. Bruggeman is an outstanding and gifted doctor and surgeon. His skills are exemplary and his bedside manner extraordinary. He makes his patients feels cared about and confident in his ability to help and restore them to health. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing spine surgery!

Dr. Bruggeman is the most responsive surgeon I have ever worked with. I can't say enough good things about him and his willingness to communicate and do whatever he can regardless of the time of day, if it's a holiday, or if he is out of town. He's a remarkable physician and I am very thankful he was recommended by my PCP.

There are only a few good spine surgeons in the whole state. There are only 1 or two in SA. This guys isn't one of them. Look for them. Don't take anyone's word for it or believe that all surgeons are created equal. There are only 4-5 good programs nationwide. Just because someone is a doctor or lawyer or plumber does not make them proficient at what they do. If you see this surgeons ask to see real outcomes of past patients up to 3 years beyond surgery. Please be careful. It's your spine!

He needs new staff. Had an appointment with this doctor rescheduled twice by his office and to show up on the third appointed day to find out he won't see my case.

Dr. Bruggeman is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and has the ability to explain medical conditions and procedures in layman's terms. I was thoroughly amazed at how quickly I was in and out of his office and, at the same time, I was not rushed. On the contrary, Dr. Bruggeman allowed me to discuss my concerns and he addressed each and every concern I had. His staff was professional and very courteous. To sum it up...I would definitely recommend Dr. Bruggeman!

I have had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Bruggeman since the middle of 2014. He and his staff are sincerely friendly and their work demonstrates it. Dr. Bruggeman is the type of physician who actually sits with his patients and listens to them. Then he gives you his honest answer and will explain it in laymans terms if need be (like I need)!
