Our son had the Nuss procedure performed by Dr Brinkman at AmFamChildrens Hospital. He went over and above to help us understand the procedure. In addition - has amazing bedside manners. Our son appreciated the fact Dr spoke to him as well and addressed his concerns. Once at the hospital Dr stopped in very frequently after surgery and the nursing staff was also amazing. Shout out to Dr Brinkman- his team and to the nurses at the hospital. To date- it is 3 weeks post surgery and our son is doing fantastic. Highly recommend Dr Brinkman and AmFam Children’s! He was absolutely amazing from the moment my family & I met him. My daughter was only 3 months old and she needed to have surgery on her intestines. We ended up getting transferred from Children's to St. Mary's and he assured us he would remain our surgeon. Immediately at St. Mary's he was advocating for us: being sure we got into surgery before the weekend, giving us updates every day and answering any questions we had. After her surgery he showed us images from during her surgery explaining the entire procedure, and continued to follow up and advocate for us. He is so personable, friendly, and really cares about his patients! Even other nurses commented about how great he is, mentioning he's a great communicator and just an overall wonderful person. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Brinkman is a horrible surgeon. He was rude and arrogant. I wish my child had any other surgeon. Avoid him at all costs!!!

Dr. Brinkman is a wonderful surgeon and the kindest person. He is patient, really smart, and great with kids. Highly recommend!
