Abdolazim Shahsavar

Dr. Shahsavar is very caring and passionate. I have seen may psychiatrists before but it was Dr. Shahsavar who diagnosed my accurately and provided me a simple but effective medication regimen. I highly recommend Dr. Shahsavar.

Not a great psychiatrist and did not try to build trust, I felt. I felt judgement a lot, and he never picked up on my negative emotions. In general, I did not feel "heard" and there was little trust.

He keeps you going to visit every two weeks and pay him, otherwise he won't approve refills of the medication you desparately need. Hate this doctor!

I began seeing Dr. Shahsavar a little over two months ago. During my first visit, I was a wreck. I was depressed and emotional. Dr. Shahsavar listen to me. He did not judge me. He gave me advice and a treatment plan. Two months later, I am a totally different person. I listened and followed the treatment plan. Today, I am feeling 100% better.

Dr. Azim Shahsavar has been a fantastic help in my life. My diagnosis left much of the good life I had built by decades of hard effort at a precipice. Prior Psychiatrists had been bored, 5 min session, pill mills. But, Dr. Azim has cut through all the fog I've had for years to catch me right as my life was about to fall apart completely. And had done this feat in a couple sessions. I know online reviews without explicit specifics are easy to ignore. But, for my professional life, it is important to keep some anonymity. Maybe it would be easier to say catching knives is an easier job than Dr. Shahsavar had with me. But, without effort, without breaking a sweat, he rightly diagnosed me and put me on a medication I've been most positively responsive to. And in the months that have ensued since, he has shephared me through some rough times in my personal life by seeing like the sun through the bs I have in my head. That bs that most Psychs seem ok to hide with a high power zombie

That bs that most Psychs seem ok to hide with a high power zombie drug. Rather, Dr Shahsavar prescribes me truth and logic and fills the prescription for reason and therapy. It's been a struggle. But, the struggle is now good. And, that, is the highest praise I can think of for a medical doctor. They made the struggle of life good.

Dr. Azim Shahsavar is such an amazing doctor, I can not express it enough. He took the time to build a client relationship with me until he gained my trust. I trust him 100%, he isn't there to just prescribe you medicine. He is there to make sure you are comfortable and truly cares about your wellbeing. He is THE best psychiatrist I have ever had in my life and I have definitely had a good bit of them. After speaking with him I honestly feel better, even better than when I speak with my personal therapist. He is a wonderful, caring patient person and I wish I could give him more than a 5 star review. He truly is a wonderful human being and I really feel as though he does care about me and my well being which I have never experienced with any other psychiatrist. I am above and beyond grateful that I have him as a psychiatrist. He truly is the best around and would recommend him to anyone and everyone that is looking for someone who truly cares about your well being and mental health. Words truly can not explain how appreciative I am for him. Thank you so much Dr. Azim Shahsavar for being so excellent!! He is extremely understanding and will work with you if you are being a bit difficult like I was in the beginning. Now him and I have built a trust over our sessions and I truly admire him and his work. He is a wonderful doctor, its also a plus he does video call sessions and in person. Like I said previously I would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone. I truly mean that, I am extremely grateful for him to be my Psychiatrist. I have zero complaints about him, that's really how wonderful he is at his job and being a excellent person in general to be there for you when your mental health isn't in the right spot. Providence Mental Health has two doctor Dr. Abdolazim Shahsavar and Azim Shahsavar. My Doctor Azim Shahsavar is a gifted detailed oriented doctor. From my first appointment, he noticed that my therapy was not correct. He requests paperwork from my previous doctor and current therapist to correct the problem. I cannot praise him enough, because the office did not send over my previous doctor notes only my current therapist notes. Dr. Azim Shahsavar only had my current therapist notes to work with. He reduces my medication and I have seen positive mood stabilization.

I wish that I could rate Dr. Shahsavar a zero as I left his office without receiving service. He refused to wear a mask and acted like it was strange that I would wear one. I was going to see him as a new patient. When I scheduled the appointment on the phone, he said that he advised that I have my first appointment in person. Never did it occur to me that a doctor wouldn't follow basic protocol of staying 6ft away and wearing a mask, which should have been communicated on the phone if that was going to be the case. His office was not running air conditioning and he said that he saw patients all the time. His argument for not wearing a mask himself was that, if someone with COVID 19 had been to his office, then I would have gotten it from contact surface anyway. He was really resolute and said I could schedule a virtual session if I didn't like the terms. I asked for my money back and left.
