Dr. Abdalmajid Katranji

I broke my hand and had multiple fractures in wrist earlier this year. I was rushed to Sparrow ER and had terrible experience there. I was not provided much information during my ER visit however on my subsequent visit I was told that surgery is needed. It was difficult to find a surgeon/surgery appointment due to COVID. Dr. Katranji was kind enough to take me in his care, scheduled the surgery as soon as he found the first opportunity. The surgery and the subsequent healing process is going extremely well. The great thing in this whole process was the way he took care of sharing information and guided me through pre and post surgery, and his staff assisted with the after care and the rehabilitation process. I fractured my right elbow and wrist back in January 2020. I had the most debilitating fracture ever. In short, after a total of 2 surgeries and almost a year of occupational therapy Dr. Katranji has enabled my arm elbow and wrist to function at a level i never thought would be possible again. Dr. Katranji is a miracle worker and i knew i was in great hands when ER doctor said to me upon my admission “It’s your lucky day Mr. Kessler, Dr. Katranji will be performing your surgery.” Thank you Dr. Katranji and staff for everything.

After seeing a few other hand surgeons and doing my research I decided to get surgery done by Dr Katranji and I am so glad that I made this decision. I would recommend him to my family and friends and cannot thank him enough for his amazing skills.

I have had carpal tunnel surgeries done on my both wrists by Dr. Katranji and i am highly satisfied with the outcome. He and his staff are very nice and understanding. Would recommend visiting KHC if you want the most skilled surgeons in Michigan to take care of your hands.

I went to KHC after a dog bite. Dr. Katranji was very nice and professional. He discussed the various surgical options in detail with me. And my surgery was successful. They also have Occupational therapist available downstairs and that’s really helpful.

I was sent to Katranji hand center by the urgent care clinic for treatment of open wound of my right hand. Dr. Katranji was very nice and compassionate and his assistant kept checking on me to make sure that i was okay throughout the whole process. I would give ten stars if i could.

Dr. Abdalmajid Katranji is the most sincere and passionate doctor i have ever met. He truly cares about his patients. If you really want to get the best surgical care in Michigan, you must go to Katranji hand center.

I would highly recommend Dr. K if you have any type of traumatic arthritis or other bone and joint issues with your hand.

Dr. Abdalmajid Katranji is the most sincere and passionate doctor i have ever met. He truly cares about his patients and tries his best to provide the best surgical care he can. If you really want to get the best surgical care in Michigan, you must go to Katranji hand center. Most of all, he is the first doctor i have ever met who doesn’t rush the appointment. He will sit with you and answer your questions and explain everything to you even if takes an hour. In short, do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Katranji if you have any issues with your arm, wrist and fingers. You won’t be disappointed.

At this rate I feel like they are never going to fix my finger.. I have been waiting 3 weeks for surgery and now I'm not even on the list for today. The scheduler isnt even answering her phone! And she is the one that messed up.. I just want my hand fixed so I can go back to work!

Highly unrecommended

My review is mainly about the receptionist that answered the phone this morning, 12-7-20. She was very rude and refused to schedule an appointment for my daughter even though the ER said my daughter needed to be seen today. The receptionist admitted that she had no x rays, no notes or anything from the ER, yet she told me my daughter would be “okay if she waited up to 2 weeks to be seen.” My daughter had an open wound (the ER did not stitch it up) and a cut tendon which left her unable to use her hand. I had my family dr refer us to another hand surgeon and they got her in right away and surgery is scheduled. All in the same day and yet this office would not even SCHEDULE an appointment when we both called in at different times. Unacceptable and unbelievable. Dr Katranji did an amazing job with healing/repairing my dog bite. And getting infection under control. He came highly recommended by other doctors and hospital staff. He's a very busy man but he will take care of you very well. And office staff is amazing!! He did such an excellent job with minimal scarring and repairs of muscle and tendons. Referred to Dr Katranji from McLaren ER, left 2 messages to get and appointment, after 3rd call was told I would receive a call back by 2 pm on Monday, today is Thursday and no return call. I got right into Dr Truluck... can only imagine how awful follow up visits would be with Katranji if this is how it is trying to get in for a consult! I DO NOT recommend Katranji... Dr Truluck is great and his office staff is amazing!

Gave me one round of tylenol 3 for pain which was not close to being strong enough. Would not give me anything stronger. Had to go to er three times to get stronger pain meds.

My brother has him as a hand surgeon and I think he is very rude, he didn’t even come in after his surgery n explain what was going on? If I could give no stars I was would!

Takes care of the person. Easy to get along with and humble. Handles the most challenging hand and wrist injuries.

Horrible experience... he was so awful with how he treated me.. very rude, dont think he should scream at his patients, so loud that someone came and shut the door. Everyone in the lobby overheard him... never been treated like that by a doctor..

I have been seeing them for 3 minths now and a few days ago 2-21-18 the dr. Gave me a work status report stating that i should not return to work until 3-22-18 being my hand needs to heal abd they need to remove the metal bar in my finger they did surgery on my finger the 5 of feb. My boss has been begging me to come back so they called my como nirse who works for the insurance conoany and she called dr. Kantranji and convinced him to change it to light duty when 5 days prior he wanted me to not go to work abd signed the documebt saying so. They didnt cinsult me about it and did not re examin my hand so how come he all of a sudden 5 days later changes his mind. I have been seeing them for 3 minths now and a few days ago 2-21-18 the dr. It was an excellent experience. Him and his staff were so friendly and did not waste time with fixing my had from a piece of glass that was it. If I needed to go for hand surgery again, I'd chose his office.

Amazing doctor

Do not use this office. I had a lacerated tendon. Said he would look at his book on tendons. And to come back in a week.

Highly unprifessional and inefficient. If there were lower star options i would choose options in the negative. Literally go anywhere else.

Worst experience ever. Would recommend going elsewhere for any surgery. Paid the deposit, not a problem there, but as soon as we got back from the surgery they demanded payment before ever sending to insurance. Then they wouldn't give me a refund after it did go to the insurance. They kept making me come in for visits one after another, well after it was healed. The wait was long but Dr. K is excellent. He explained everything is great detail. The receptionist were very patient and helpful.

Dr. Katranji was wonderful. He saved my daughters fingers. She is a teenager and he explained everything to her in clear detail. She had total confidence in him. He was very personable with us. Very thankful to him and his team.

My wife and I have had several surgeries and physical therapy through Dr Katranji. Great experience and care, heart of gold. He is busy and on occasion there is a wait before appointments. I work at a local hospital and have seen him with patients at 3am.

He is is the best doctor I have ever had! Saved my hand, and made sure I felt fine. I wish I could.personally thank him!

Dr. Katranji is very upbeat and personable and diagnosed and treated my issue in one visit. Canceled my follow up because the treatment worked so well.

Never will I waste my time with this yahoo and his unprofessional staff. I called 28 times in 90 days to get my next treatment done to no avail. It got to a point where the young lady who was my contact cringed when I called because she had no answers. She actually changed her tone when she realized it was me calling. So unprofessional. He obviously does not care about patience care and the only thing left to care about is $ and that's obvious by the way he overbooks. 1 to 1.5 hour wait.

Dr. Katranji is the GREATEST doctor/surgeon in the world. He has a heart of gold and the best ever. 2 yrs ago he saved my 2 yr old daughters hand that had been ripped off and smashed in an accident. He did all this when he wasn't even on call at Sparrow. He is my families hero and he should be honored for being such a wonderful man and doctor. Please remember when you are waiting to see him he is worth the wait. He just might be saving someone's hand.

I was told in March that they were going to schedule me for a MRI and my follow-up appt. would be April 15. I had to cancel the appt. because I hadn't had the MRI yet. After 5 calls to the office about this, I still wasn't scheduled. On May 20th I had appt. with my PCP and I told him about this. My MRI is tomorrow, June 7th. I don't even know if the office is aware of this or if Dr. Huettner, the doctor I was seeing at Katranji Hand Center, even knows about their office not taking care of this.
